When asked in the after-game presser about why Spriggs did not start , MM at first said "Bell earned it", but then went on to say "something happened later in the week" .....sounds more like a negative with Spriggs as opposed to a positive with Bell that "happened".

They both suck. Anyone behind them?

Which one was Thomas?

#56. The one jacking the living daylights out of the Titans olineman.

Worth noting from yesterday:

Yes he does. Good call.

My only concern is he's 220 pounds.   Burks is 230 and there's question if he can handle the run game.  I think that's a bit overblown but a consideration.

He would break down quickly inside but in today's game you typically only need a grunt in there on 1st down anyway.  I'm sure full time OL would find a way to neutralize a guy that size but his BFI may find him a spot on the roster.

As a reference, Bishop weighed 240 as a rook.

No, but I'd rather give Bell reps to see if he can get on the same page.  We know at one point he could play.  Spriggs, not so much.

Bell looks like he should only be playing guard at this point in his career.

Interesting how much bigger than Burks he looks in that clip.

He can cover much better than Bishop could.

Where have you gone Ahmad Brooks? Packer Nation turned a lonely eye to you.

I think he is still in rehab somewhere for back problems.

Burks cleaned played that well, but notice how poorly Biegel plays this. He attacks where the ball carrier is, not realizing it's an outside zone run. Had that OT ALSO not played it poorly (chasing Biegel) and attacked Burks (as he should in a Zone scheme), there was a 10+ yard gain there. Biegel's move is an inside swim, which the OL is more than happy to allow because he's 2 steps behind the back. He has to read that, stack the OT, and force the back wide (which happened but not because of Biegel). The back hesitated and took it wide rather than cut back where he was supposed to on Burks inside shoulder. If Biegel does his job then that lane is clogged.

He's only 220lbs? He's safety sized yet he can manhandle oline? Amazing!

One of yesterday's practice's highlights was "Spriggs pancaked Biegel" on a rep.  Not sure what to make of that.

That Biegel got pancaked by someone who is not qualified to play in the NFL? That speaks volumes about his abilities.

I don't think we can afford any DB's who might start to be fielding punts.  "You can't play football scared" and all that but that position really really needs all the help it can get just defending the pass this year.  Does anyone really want to see House start another game?

Wanna see Rollins instead? Want to see Davis on the WR list instead of the spectacular young WRs Gute has just brought in? No? Then throw Alexander out there as a punt returner.

No no and no. No offensive starter nor any of the top 6 DB's should be the punt or kickoff returner this year until the playoffs, or in spot duty during the regular season. Not enough proven quality depth on the roster to risk it, IMO.

Doubtful we'll see Ben on Thursday. Which is a shame because these young CB's could use reps against a good QB in pre-season:
