Adams was behind 90+ catch, in-their-prime Jordy and Cobb, and Lacy had a lot of receptions, as well. Not quite the same situation.

He was also behind Watson in yards and catches. Boy, that Adams guy must have been cut really quickly.

Dear Christian;

     Please be working on your release from the line before your routes this off season. Go back and find some footage of Adams the last few years and emulate it into your route running this year. It really works, just ask Davantae. Thank you for your time.

The keys will also be hand placement and fundamentals. Long TDs are great for highlights and fantasy football, but reliability will be key if he’s to become a true #1.

Long TDs are great for fantasy football?😂😂😂 They are pretty fucking good for real football too. When he gets going he is going to terrify NFL defenses so much that he’ll open things up for the other guys.

He has much to learn, but the raw material is among the best to ever to walk into this league. And the kid is a WORKER!

Dropping passes, not getting his head around, or not looking up for balls loses games. Take the Dallas game, for example. He made the highlight reel a few times and still almost cost them the game with his gaffes. Until he cleans that stuff up, he’s not a premier receiver.

He's already showing glimpses of being a premier receiver  based on his raw talent alone. Of course he's a bit raw and can improve.

He literally won the Dallas game. And in case you forgot, he was a ROOKIE!

There were more polished rookies out there, but only a tiny minority have his potential. If he works hard and adds that polish to his game, he'll have been a bargain.

Watson takes the top off of a defense, but he also influences them on the jet sweep motion. Great play design, Watson does his job and the left side opens up for Dillon to take it to the house.

Also - this game is in Chicago, but note how many fans go nuts on the TD score
That's a lot of Packer fans at Soldier

He was a rookie, but he's fundamentally way behind as well as being older. You can argue he was put in a bad spot by Gutekunst as far as role goes, and I'd agree. That doesn't change the fact he has a lot of ground to make up.

Dude is a worker. I wouldn’t bet against him.

His numbers SEASON would have been better if he would not have dropped that bomb 1st play of the season. He made up for it tho

I really think that first drop had a pretty big impact on him mentally, not to mention maybe the QB too.  Then the injuries made it hard for him to put up plays to forget the first one.

Would Love to see LaFleur call that exact same play, week 1, first series, first play regardless of the opponent or the defensive alignment.

I saw an interview with Watson and he truly is a late bloomer. He had one college offer and of course that was North Dakota State. As a HS junior he was 5'9 and 145 lbs. He got to 6'2 as a SR so it's evident why he didn't get much attention.
