Can't believe the Saint would pick this year to get a QB.  Seems like all these guys would be second rounds picks in just about any other draft  I'm not usually one to punt on drafting a QB high if you need one but this year reminds me of the EJ Manuel/Geno Smith year.  Just put a bandaid on QB for 2022 and draft one in 2023.  But hey, good for the Packers if another NFC team drafts a QB high and they waste 2-3 years before realizing it.

I loved the Amos signing when it happened.  That offseason proved to be damn good, signing Z Smith, P Smith, Amos, and Turner.  All exceeded their contracts with the only exception being Z Smith's injury last year (but he was all-pro the two years before).

Hope they bring Amos back, especially if Savage doesn't take that next step.  May be tough though, as Amos has a $8m cap hit next year after his contract expires (due to voidable years).

I don't think SF will trade him at all, but, I'd give up 2 1st's for Deebo.  Dude can straight up play football.

Depends on what his contract demands are. My guess is that his trade demand isn't so much that he wants out of SF, but that he wants Adams/Tyreke Hill/Diggs money (around 30 million a year) and SF probably is thinking in the low 20s for an annual salary.

The biggest problem with Samuel is that until last year he's had trouble staying healthy. He missed most of his redshirt freshman season in college with a hamstring injury (2015), had a good year in 2016, and then missed all but three games in 2017 after he broke his leg and then hurt his foot in rehab. He was healthy in 2018.

He had a good, but not earth shattering rookie year in the NFL in 2019, and then missed a large part of 2020 after breaking his foot in preseason. He was elite in 2021.

I get why it's critical that Samuel wants to get paid now. He's missed large parts of 3 of the last 7 years with injuries. Guys who are injury-prone generally don't get less injury-prone as they age.

The same reason it's important for him to get his money is the reason why the Niners (and other teams) don't want to sink something like 5 years and 125 million into a contract for him. He's very likely to miss significant time. Especially if he gets 60 touches at RB.

If he's traded, it will be to some team that is desperate. I'm guessing the Jets fit the bill.

Agree. Too much risk to pay the big money plus give away high draft pics considering his injury history.

If the Packers were unwilling to pay Adams beyond the franchise tag, why would they be willing to pat Deebo while giving up, most likely, several high draft picks.  Same can be said about Metcalf.

With AR taking up a significant amount of cap space, and the premium the Packers are paying for Aaron Jones, I doubt they want to pay $20+ million/year for WR.

Hard pass on Deebo.

The style of play (Deebo) doesn’t lend itself to him staying healthy.    That alone should be reason to avoid dishing out multiple picks and huge money.   That’s important because in order to get him you’d have to do both.

Draft a couple of receivers in round 1-2 and hope our elite QB can accelerate their development curve.

Saw that this morning, and I was all about giving up two #1's for Deebo.  Then the coffee wore off, I settled down, and read some of the posts about his injury history.  Ayeee, he would be a hell of a weapon and a proven commodity, but I don't like acquiring players with injury histories.  For that reason alone, I'm out.

P.S. - Adams didn't want to be here. It wasn't about the money, which we were going to pay.
