Was hoping he'd come back for one more year.
Yep...same here.
He thought he had a chance at a ring, he can see that isn't happening.

3. Emmanuel Sanders, Buffalo Bills - Pussy
4. Jarvis Landry, Cleveland Browns - Maybe the only one here worth a shot
5. A.J. Green, Arizona Cardinals - When's the last time he was productive?
6. Cole Beasley, Buffalo Bills - Maybe, as a cheap pickup. Vet minimum.
8. Will Fuller, Miami Dolphins - Trouble. Absolutely not.
9. Sammy Watkins, Baltimore Ravens - The most famous average performer ever?
10. John Ross, New York Giants - Don't know much about him
11. Albert Wilson, Miami Dolphins - Don't know much about him
12. Keelan Cole, New York Jets - Don't know much about him
None of these guys are worth much more than their vet minimums.
They all have issues (age, injury, not prototypical Packer WR, head case, etc.); some have multiples. They all have missed games over the last couple of seasons, and most of them aren't starters.
At this point, I'm willing to see how the draft shakes out. I don't want to depend on 2-3 draft picks for WRs, and hope a trade may materialize for a vet.
I think the Packers are looking, trying to see who might fit. It will become a lot more clear after the draft, so that's maybe when we'll see a deal emerge. I doubt picking up a vet changes the strategy on drafting a WR.
Will we lose the division?

BTW BK, I donât want to hear from you about the shitty writing in this piece.
I got to âSome fans have even took to writing to the Packers front office.â and I had a massive strokeâĶIâm typing this with one of those mouth held pen devices.
Reading this hypothetical trade from the Packers...it's very un-Packers like.
First they'd deal away draft capital...yes, they'd be getting a guy in the prime of his career who is Pro Bowl guy...but he's going to want that crazy WR money...yes it will down the road, but that may stress the cap more than Gute and Ballz would like given they really need to extend Jaire.

Someone is bound to give Cole Beasley âa shotâ!

Heâll probably be immune from that shot.
The #Packers are hosting WR Sammy Watkins on a visit today, sources say. No deal as of now but stay tuned.

During his one season with Matt LaFleur in LA, Sammy Watkins scored eight touchdowns, averaged 15.2 yards per catch and created 10 plays of 20+ yards. Jared Goffâs passer rating when targeting him was 116.0.

99 career games. Heâs still only 28.
Definitely worth a look
Didn't realize the MLF connection was there.

We can get DK Metcalf in the draft by selecting Christian Watson...
@Packmeister posted:We can get DK Metcalf in the draft by selecting Christian Watson...
Metcalf is 2 inches shorter, at the combine was 20lbs heavier and 2 years younger than Watson. Not saying Watson isn't going to be a great player, but he's a different kind of player.
If the Seahawks would take #28 overall and a 3rd rounder for DK, I'd do it in a heartbeat...the guy is just getting into his prime. He's as much of a guaranteed player as you can get.

BUT way too expensive next year....

What about 4 shots? How many shots does a guy get before you stop thinking there is a chance?
Watkins would come cheap.

I can buy that. I doubt he'll come that cheap, though.
Sign Sammy on the cheap with incentives to earn more if healthy and productive.

Minus 20 pounds.

2 years younger? Yikes!
now sign clowney and it's a wrap.
@AdamSchefter: Packers are giving former Ravensâ WR Sammy Watkins a one-year deal worth up to $4 million, per source.
Watkins signing a 1 year, worth up
to 4 million per Schefter
I like the deal. He's injury prone like Cobb, but at that price???
Maybe not quite the speed. But just replaced Valdez
Maybe between him and Cobb we get a full season...
@Packmeister posted:Maybe between him and Cobb we get a full season...
Theyâll probably run into each other and knock each other out for the season
Fine with this signing, bottom line is you will not be replacing Adams, the PLAYER.
What you are looking to do is replace the PRODUCTION of Adams. And there are lots of ways to do this, including this signing.
Sounds like the deal with Watkins (wisely) contains incentives.
@Packmeister posted:Maybe between him and Cobb we get a full season...
Yep. And most importantly, can Watkins be healthy for the playoffs? Cobb went into those playoffs last year very rusty from inactivity and was a non factor. Letâs hope Watkins offers more once things actually start to matter. He might be as injury prone as Cobb, but just about every FA WR that was left pretty much had the same âinjury proneâ rap on them.
At this point, he reminds me of a James Jones type. He'll be solid, but unspectacular. He's a good signing at this price (I'm assuming up to 4 million means a lot of it is tied up in incentives).
Im officially a cheesehead canât wait to be apart or something special itâs Finna be crazy..! #LIMITLESS14 #PACKERS

I can already hear the Packer haters claiming that it was Aaron who Okâd the deal.
i also think this opens the door for us to draft a wr that may be injured, pickens or williams - if we get 'some' quality snaps from watkins, that may buy time for a rookie that is recovering to get the playbook in their heads...or a DE pass rusher, ha ha ha - let's be honest, we have NO idea how the draft will go...
