Was Tyrek Hill deserving of more money than Davante. Apparenty Rosenhaus was finishing an extension with KC when the Adams deal was finished and then told KC that Hill deserved more and KC said no. I would think they were comparable but dont see Hill as a better player.

They are very different players.

T. Hill is the fastest player in the NFL and is a threat to go to the house every time he touches the ball. He runs a sub 4.3 and can run by any CB in the league for an 80 yard bomb at any time. The safeties have to play a step or two back on every possession to be able to help out deep so it opens up your running game a little bit more. Hill is not going to catch tough 15 yard throws on 3rd and long in the middle to the field very often, though.

Davante Adams is the best route runner in the league but runs closer to a 4.6. If you need a guy to get open against tight coverage in the middle of the field and catch a 15 yard pass on third and long, he's among the best to ever do it. Adams is not going to stretch a defense they way Hill does though.

He's the second coming of Corey Bradford.

The difference is once Bradford left Favre, he went to Houston where David Carr was getting crushed by playing behind one of the worst OLs in history.

MVS is leaving Rodgers to go to, at worst, an equivalent QB. He also will be playing for the first time with an elite TE. If MVS stays healthy, he may put up big numbers there. It doesn't mean he would have put those up in Green Bay. In KC, the safeties have to be very concerned with Kelce in the seam and it opens up the deep middle a lot more. Even Tonyan, when healthy, could be covered by a LB. Marcedes Lewis can probably be covered by a DE at this point. DeGuara isn't really a TE (he's a H-back).

Mahomes throws a better deep ball than Rodgers. MVS is a better fit with KC.

Guys left from Packer draft classes. These are the guys that would be roughly between 24 and 29 years old right now. This should be the core of your team on second contracts or just about to get extensions. The fact they only have 8 guys from these drafts left (and only 2 guys drafted after the second round) would normally be associated with a really bad record, but somehow they are 39-10 the last 3 years.

2019: Gary, Savage, Jenkins

2018: Alexander

2017: Kevin King, Aaron Jones

2016: Kenny Clark, Lowry

2015: 0

2014: 0

WTF? My first reaction is that maybe the entire FO needs to be fired but without context its hard to say how we are doing. I wonder how this compares to other teams. I can't imagine it compares well.  A couple of really outstanding players there (Jenkns, Alexander, Clark) but a lot of misses. Interesting that all of the guys left are/were starters. Seems odd that we don't have any backups/depth players left in 6 years worth of drafts (roughly 42 players picked and not one backup remains).

Hard to compare Adams and Hill.  Hill's speed completely changes how a defense approaches a game.  Adams doesn't have that speed and likely doesn't change a defense like Hill does, even though he's probably the better WR.

Following the Aaron Rodgers extension, the Davante Adams trade, and a host of other moves, the Packers currently possess a little more than $15MM in cap space, per OverTheCap.com. Of course, Green Bay still needs to maintain sufficient room to sign its rookie class and make in-season transactions, and as Matt Schneidman of The Athleticwrites, the club might be interested in a free agent wide receiver like Odell Beckham Jr.  or Will Fuller now that Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling are out of the picture, Rory Parks of Pro Football Rumors reports.

In other words, the Packers would still like to create more cap room, and per Schneidman, the most obvious way to achieve that goal would be to extend cornerback Jaire Alexander. As we heard earlier this month, Green Bay and Alexander’s camp have engaged in negotiations on a long-term pact.

One potential snag is that, according to Schneidman, Alexander is seeking a contract that would make him the highest-paid corner in the league. Currently, Rams CB Jalen Ramsey is the clubhouse leader in terms of both AAV ($20MM) and practical guarantees ($71.2MM).

Alexander, a member of the 2018 All-Rookie team who had established himself as a quality starter over his first two years in the league, had a breakout in 2020, earning his first Pro Bowl nod and Second Team All-Pro recognition. The advanced analytics at Pro Football Focus supported those honors with a tremendous 90.5 overall grade, and Green Bay made the easy decision to exercise Alexander’s fifth-year option for the

With Cobb, Amari, and AJones, hell add in Kylin Hill, is there room for a guy like Shenault? I think he'd have to play more perimeter than gadget.

Cobb is an all-time Packer, but they'll be lucky if he's healthy for more than 10-12 games. He's missed at least 5 games in 3 of the last 4 seasons.

Amari should get some slack for being a rookie last year, but he had one of the worst rookie seasons for a higher WR draft pick I've seen in a while. Even young WRs that took a while to develop showed something in the return game. With the Packers having some games where they were looking for a warm body at WR opposite Adams (when Cobb, MVS, and Lazard were dinged up), he couldn't get on the field. I don't actually remember him breaking a tackle or making anyone miss on any play he had the ball. He has time, but he's definitely trending toward bust territory.

Kyle Hill might not be ready until mid-year, and you can find guys like him on practice squads any time you want.

They need another 2-3 WRs that are above practice squad level. They can get them in the draft, via trade, or free agency. No matter where they find them, they need them in Green Bay healthy during the mini-camps and OTAs and Rodgers needs to be there at all the off-season practices to get reps in with them. The problem with guys like OBJ or Jameson Williams is that they won't be ready to go until well into the season. The WRs need months of reps with Rodgers to develop timing and chemistry (and learn the offense).

He's not going to fall into the 50's.  I think he still goes in RD1.  There is a bunch of teams with multiple RD1 picks this year and I'd guess one of them will make the long term investment.

With injured draftees, sure they won't see the field much less contribute in the first half of the season.  But this team will probably be fine without them and win enough games to get into the playoffs.  The bigger question is if that rookie will be able to contribute in January and post season.  Easier for a DL or Edge or RB but not as easy for a TE or WR.
