"Center" Jacob Monk. Huh.
A little bit older guy, he'll be 23 before training camp (though this year that's another thing), but he is a five-year starter at multiple spots and was team captain.

Nice to have more competition at center.
@WesHod: Monk legit played everywhere. 34 starts at RG, 12 C and 12 RT
@BenFennell_NFL: Jacob Monk... 5 year starter across RT, RG, C.
3600+ snaps played. That's the experienced/ready-to-compete type you want on Day 3 all day long!
Poor Man's Graham Barton
From JSO:
The Packers traded No. 168 and No. 219 to move up.
Monk is 6-3, 308 pounds. He rank the 40 in 5.09 seconds. He has 10-inch hands and 32 3/8-inch arms. He had a vertical of 29 1/2 inches. At his pro day, he benched 225 pounds 31 times, which would have ranked third among offensive players at the combine.
Announcing him at Center is interesting, if it's indicative of anything.

Hmm...wild coincidence that my fave Italian restaurant had "tanor Bortolini" as the chefs special last night.

With our OL losses in the off-season, nice to have a versatile rookie addition.
The Packers picked an OL with OCD?
Yet another team captain. I thought there was an article somewhere said being a team captain in college was one of the better metrics for longer term success at the next level (for whatever reason).
I mean, monks do know something about beer, so Wisconsin is a good fit.
At pick 169 the Packers select Oregon State safety Kitan Oladapo
Packers pick Oladapo
Definitely working to improve that area of the D!
From packers.com:
The Packers chose their third safety in the last two days, drafting Oregon State's Kitan Oladapo in the fifth round at No. 169 overall.
Oladapo (6-2, 216) spent six years in Corvallis, Ore., redshirting in 2018 and then playing very sparingly as a reserve for two years.
Over the last three seasons, he started 38 games, racked up 222 tackles, including 13 for loss and 4Â― sacks, with three interceptions and 23 passes broken up.
Oladapo earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 recognition in 2021 and then second-team All-Pac-12 honors last season, when he had two picks and eight PBUs.
Chef Hafley getting the ingredients. Let's get that Michelin star.
Glad to see the back end of our D being overhauled. 7 total team Int's and not one DB who could lay the wood is pretty weak. People quickly forget the crap that they rolled out on the field last year.
Would still like to see some more CB help. Maybe that comes from FA or after cut downs? I hope I'm wrong, but I don't have a lot of faith in Stokes at this point.
Looks like the days of mediocre safety play in GB are over. This is a significant overhaul of talent.
Yet another team captain. Also one of the Packers 30 visits.
Safety free for all in GB
Yeah, three safeties and no corners seems odd, especially since only one of the safeties is viable in slot coverage.
Oregon State had LOADS of NFL talent on its defense in 2023, but no one jumped off the tape more than FS and Team Captain Kitan Oladapo (#28).

Uh oh Jets drafted a QB named Jordan. Was Rodgers notified before the pick??

He better play like a tiger and not a Kitten.

There were only two guys probably worth spending a pick on, so....
Anyone have a site they can recommend that is keeping up with the Packer picks vis a vis trades and which picks they have, etc.? Every site I go to is not keeping up. TIA.
Wait, is Johnny Wilson (WR Florida State) still available? That's interesting.
