They changed his approach...and had from March to August to get it straightened out. Anders talked about it after OTAs

Anders will be fine some day - but you can't blame the Packers for moving on. They had from Feb to August to straighten it out... and they didn't.

They kept Joseph because they are still looking for their starting Kicker and needed someone, now, short term. I think Joseph gets cut when Gute finds someone, anyone, on the waiver/released wire. Carlson missed a FG that was less distance than a PAT. Glad he's gone.

Kicker is the most mental position on the team. Lots of guys with big legs but don't have the mental fortitude to do what the position requires. Doesn't require perfection, but close to it.

If Anders was just missing long FG, he'd probably still be on the team. But missing XP and 40 or less FG's isn't acceptable. You need perfection on those. Those are gimmes in the NFL.

Jo-Jo is no Morten Andersen, but he's more reliable than Anders at this juncture. When you get a franchise kicker, you pay them. They are rare.

Totally.  No way Zayne doesn't make it thru waivers.  Could have had AJJ on the 53 and Zayne on the PS and used for game day activation when needed for ST reps.  Any injury could have then elevated Zayne to the 53 full time if they needed it.

Feels like a big miss by Gute.

Welch also was on the Ravens roster from 2020-23, until he was cut in August 2023, when GB picked him up. They know what they’re getting
