He may last for a while. I think this is some of Toms input. He knows the revolving door stuff doesnβt work.
Now they need a qb. Thatβs harder.

Pete Carroll is 73 years old. He isn't going to last a while at all. It amazes me how dumb owners are (Shad Khan - looking at you, too).
Carroll would have been a nice hire about 10 years ago. At 73? Lot's of luck relating to a bunch of 22-26 year olds. I'm hardly an agist, but shit like this does matter when you are talking about a 1/2 century age difference between you and your players.

Interesting. Last thing I saw was DAL was hot after him. I wonder where that's going to leave the Joneses. What other big names are out there, since those are the types that end up in Jerryland?
In his day Carroll to me was an elite coach. But he has been out of coaching for a bit and he is going to possibly the most dysfunctional organization in the NFL. Maybe the Raiders need an experienced guy to right the ship but not sure I would have made that hire.
If you look at their head coaches list going back to the 90s it looks like the longest a coach has been there is Art Shell who was there for 6 years and after that the average looks to be about 2 years they are with the team.
You would also have to wonder what kind of candidates were left that would even be willing to coach there. Sure there is always the money but if you know it's going to be a shit show no matter what you do, I would think any viable candidate may just bet on finding the next opportunity.
Coen better have a long and healthy career in Jacksonville. I doubt if any team will ever trust him again.
He puts more silver into the Silver and Black
βHey Mike, Jerry. I was just kidding.β
I don't see anything wrong with Carrol. Age is just a number. He has always presented as much younger than his age and is in excellent shape.
He has the jaw muscles of a 25 year old.

Mike McCarthy is available.
So is Matt Eberflus.
Dudes pushing 80 as POTUS and many other fossils in Congress.
I am sure a 70 something can coach a little foosball.
Comparing the workload of an NFL coach to that of a politician is an insult to coaching.

Age gap doesn't seem to be a problem for Belichick.
Lions lose another coach. Bears are working to finalize a deal to make former Lions WR coach Antwaan Randle El their new assistant head coach/wr coach, per source. Randle El is following Ben Johnson to Chicago.
And then there was 1. Brian Schottenheimer named the head coach of the Cowboys. Only Saints left now.
Also a former Packer is joining Johnson in Chicago Al Harris. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday that Harris, a member of the Packers Hall of Fame, will join the rival Chicago Bears' coaching staff as their defensive pass game coordinator and defensive backs coach.

So you get rid of Mike McCarthy to hire the guy that worked under him as an assistant? The guy who coordinated the Jacksonville passing game under Urban Meyer?
Is Jerry senile?
Maybe he thought he was hiring Marty.

No more senile than late stage Al Davis.
Or current stage Mark Davis.
But Mark Davis has better hair.
Only because he's not currently pushing up daisies.
Make him a time out coordinator. You'll never run out again.
My brother in law is a long time Cowboys fan. He said he was hoping theyβd hire Deion because Deion would have been one of the few coaches who would stand up to Jerry.

Once, maybe twice, then bye bye Deion.
The truth always comes out.
