I would appreciate if we played with full vigor in this upcoming tilt.

These gentlemen, I am sure, fully appreciate the opportunity presented to them this week.

The short week and travel present some adversity.

I fully expect these men to overcome the challenge and purvey victorious.

Only 2 weeks isn't so bad. Could be up to 4-6

Cobb/Jones/Monty should be able to handle things

I would love to see a 48-0 beatdown of the 49ers this week.  But as long as they win it is all good because it would be another NFC win.  I know it isn't October yet but any tiebreaker they could hold the better.

For this season, the 49ers "Super Bowls" are going to be playing against the Packers and Seahawks.  If the Pack was healthy and had a full week of practice, I'd be really confident in this one.  But they're basically 2 days short of rest, and they are really banged up.

San Fran is a joke, but they're a step up from the Bears who gave the Pack a tough game in week 1.  I expect something similar to the Bears game, where the 49ers keep it interesting.  I think they'll be able to keep it interesting longer than the Bears did though so there may be a little bit of nailbiting near the end.

I really hope Tomasula continues to try to force Kap into his offense.  I'm afraid he will come to the realization that he's a read-option QB and implement that as a strategy to beat us.  I'm still concerned with our ability to defend the r-o.

From this morning's TMQ:

The Football Gods Chortled No. 2. If every pass an N.F.L. quarterback attempts clangs to the ground incomplete, he gets a 39.6 passer rating. Colin Kaepernick’s rating at Arizona was 16.7.

According to the N.F.L., Kaepernick netted 53 yards passing — 67 yards gained minus 14 lost to sacks — while producing no touchdowns. But Kaepernick’s four interceptions were returned for 71 yards and two touchdowns. Shouldn’t we say the 49ers’ passing game netted minus-18 yards and minus-14 points?

Russell Wilson is a smarter QB than Kaeperdick and he's a better runner, and we only had a moderate level of trouble with Wilson. He doesn't have the OL that he used to or a game breaker at RB. He has better receivers, but if he can't get them the ball then that doesn't matter.

let down game, blah, blah, blah.  I thought KC was going to be the let down game.  Blah, blah, blah.

What's the first thing you do as coach of the SF 49ers?  What's the first thing you do when you get into your office in the morning?

What yesterday or today?

I should not be in tears at the office.

Keep Gunter for sure IMO. He had a tremendous camp and you can't ever have enough quality DB's. Lane Taylor could stick simply because he is a big body OL and look at guys like Newhouse, Babre, etc. Still with jobs in the NFL.

MM really likes Goodson but they have to see something we haven't. He's also what? 27-28? IIRC he was an "old" rookie when drafted.

My best guess is if Quarless has anything that would keep him out >4 weeks he will go to IR. Prior to last night, he had no targets. No catches in the first 2 games. If IR'ed, that's your spot. Jake Ryan also had a hamstring injury. We'll see how serious that is..

The more the merrier.

@JeffAshPG: Fox's No. 1 crew of Joe @Buck, @TroyAikman and @ErinAndrews will call #Packers #49ers game on Sunday, per @49ers media release.

@JeffAshPG: Many dislike Buck/Aikman/Andrews, but their presence likely means Fox will show #Packers #49ers to widest possible late-afternoon audience.
