As great as this unexpected run is, I think the best thing about it is for recruiting.

It tells the "Wisconsin kind of kid." that nothing has changed with Gard, and that this is a  still a special place for hard-workers and team players.

Exactly. With all the success we have witnessed why are we so obsessed with non-Wisconsin type of kids.

Most impressive part was as the shots weren't falling they kept playing team defense. They never quit. Down 9 with 6:19 left they played hard on D and closed things out 17-5.

Crazy impressive finish.

it appeared to me Koenig was the one who rallied the troops down 9 with 6 min left, he had the fire, and then took control at the end.  I knew he was gonna take the shot to tie it and I'm glad Gard gave him the opportunity to win it - leadership, nice.

On to the Irish...for what it is worth these are my thoughts.  Hayes needs some early success to get his confidence back, Bucky needs some more O production from Showy, Hill and Iverson, I don't think points in the low 60's will be enough this weekend. And lastly BK needs to keep it up.

ND can be beaten.

I hope and expect they'll retain this philosophy. I don't want the one and dones. That may result in the Badgers never winning a national championship, but I'm fine with competing for a Sweet 16 slot every year and occasionally advancing to the Final 4. I'd rather have Hayes and Happ types and not get Kevon Looney or Diamond Stone.

Ben Simmons is the top pick this year and LSU didn't make the NCAA and from all appearances Simmons didn't even bother to fake like he was attending classes.

In his defense, that is exactly what attending classes at LSU looks like

I would have no problem with the level of talent on the squad that potentially could enter the NBA draft in one year.  If playing for UW advances that students cause to play professionally, why not.

At some point you have to think a team will be able to exploit their total lack of G depth. Someone's going to attack Showalter and get him in foul trouble, then bleed them dry attacking the basket. The MSU blueprint.

But you have to hit shots, and the Badgers have been making that awfully tough on teams.

Hard to argue with that

Texas A & M too high.  If Bohannon hadn't gotten injured they wouldn't even be there.   Badgers will be the last  B1GTEN team standing.  As usual.

Spot on, A&M looking bad against the Okies

Nigel just can't buy a bucket. Hope he realizes that and doesn't try to shoot himself out of this funk tonight. Bucky is getting scoring contributions elsewhere right now so Hayes should just concentrate on facilitating, D and rebounding.

Up 9 with 5:05 left in half.

1. Shot clock violation (Brown air ball)

2. Turnover

3. Happ missed contested 2 footer.

4. Hayes missed wide open 3.

5. Hayes 1 of 2 FTs.

6. Koenig missed shot.

5 minutes, 1 point. Still up 4, but could have provided some separation.
