Is that a statement about the Jets organization or those quoted in the article?

My fav part of the article is how Johnson would take comments from random Twitter users and present it to Saleh as advice.
The stuff about Wilson is really damning too.Wilson was under the impression that Rodgers would be there to help him as starter but when Wilson reached out Rodgers ghosted him. Guess Zach doesn’t have FaceTime.
You're 100% wrong about that.

Jets had the #3 defense in the league and the worst offense sans Carolina....somehow they STILL won 7 games.....you telling me Rodgers wouldn't have won 4 more games? You're dead wrong Cowherd as usual.
This is what people meant when they said the NYC media would have a field day with him. Blood in the water now.

The Athletic....this is why they have subscriptions because of articles like this.
I am sad we missed seeing Rodgers in 2023, especially once Love started to take off....Rodgers would've been playing soooo great for the Jets to try and outdo Love.....
We are all really robbed from seeing amazing QB play.....it sucks
What a mess of an organization. It sounds like behind the scenes Rodgers holds all the cards and pulls the strings he wants to pull. Lazard mouthing off, on-again, off-again QB decisions by Salah, Hackett's lack or organization, Salah's insecurities... Rodgers has them by the short hairs. And because Rodgers likes everyone to dance to his tune, things are just where he wants them to be.
Of course, NY is not going to bring in Vrabel or Belichick or any other strong coach to set a new standard; Rodgers has said who he wants to play for and that's going to take precedence over anything and anyone else. I am so very glad he is somebody else's problem.
I really wonder what is being said around 1265 Lombardi as they read this...
I think he is more of a bourbon guy.
Jets part ways with their Assistant GM, Rex Hogan. Supposedly a mutual decision. Wonder if he got tired of the shit show AR brought to the Jets and wanted out?
The ummmm....{ahem} "Asst. GM" is moving on
Breaking: The #Jets and Rex Hogan have mutually agreed to part ways, sources tell @snytv.

The move allows Hogan, who spent the last five seasons as the team’s assistant general manager, to explore other opportunities.
Hogan is well respected around the league. He will be a… pic.twitter.com/AhrokxF7CJ
That’s cuz the hired a GM last year
The Athletic reports that the Jets are hoping to create "a more collaborative play-calling process" for the offense next season. All that means is Rodgers has total control of the offense.
@YATittle posted:
And yes, according to the report, Aaron Rodgers had input on this decision.

Ya think?!?!
A more collaborative process..... 😄

He seems to have morphed from a guy that could look at complex situations in a very nuanced way (see this link from what happened in 2015) to a guy that just says stuff to get attention.

I guess Cobb might be the closest thing he has to a friend, but Cobb (and Lazard, Tim Boyle, etc.) are completely dependent on him to keep the money flowing into their pockets, too.
Unfortunately that group for a lot of people are fellow reality-denying dumbasses, which is a big issue in this country, but I digress.
Someone is his position doesn't make outside friends (or romances) easily, regardless of where they're coming from. There's a small pool of folks that can comprehend and deal with that level of fame, wealth or experience. There are a lot of entourage types, but it's an entirely different level for meaningful relaionships.
Look at the Kelce/Swift relationship. Travis was a rather wealthy and well-known guy already, but dating Taylor has pushed that notoriety to another level entirely. She's (in a manner of speaking) "slumming" with a multi-millionaire famous athlete, as absurd as that is.
I saw something the other day on MacKenzie Scott, Jeff Bezos' ex. She met and married a school teacher ("normal" person) after her divorce, but supposedly the lifestyles were just too different to be compatible and they split after a couple of years. Amicably, but still split.
I think his input amounts to some platitudes that don't really mean much one way or the other. It's more a temperature check by the Jets to make sure Rodgers is ok with it. Aaron almost always goes into change with a positive attitude, it's when things don't go according to plan that he gets aggravated and passive aggressive. He doesn't like being responsible for big pictures decisions, but he'll be more than happy to snipe later if it makes things harder for him
There's a lot of Jets fans that think 8 is intricately involved with off season decisions behind the scenes. He always struck me as when he gone, he gone. He's about golf, getting some workouts in, and doing whatever other weird hippie shit he's up to in the off-season. He'll reluctantly show up to OTAs even if he won't show his displeasure with it and just wants to get back to the games and proving he can still play at a high level.
I don't think he cares about anything but being able to put on a mind reading show at the line of scrimmage and move the ball down field to put points on the board. He wants a coaching staff that stays out of his way and keeps it light on the practice field and a front office that surrounds him with talent. For all his talk about wanting to be involved in recruiting free agents I think the extent of it has always been him having a quick conversation. He wants a front office that isn't looking towards the future and will leverage the future cap to get as much talent for his swan song as possible. He's always been about other people doing their jobs to the level he's able to do his. Not so much about helping them to get there.
The Jets are screwed this year and forever so long as Woody is owner. It's real clear he's over involved in the day to day and the coach and GM regularly have to calm all his concerns.
It’s not that difficult to say we didn’t see this all coming. I’m of the belief that a primary reason he chose the Jets is that he knew Saleh and Hackett would acquiesce and let him steal all the attention and headlines.
That wouldn’t happen at a place like say, San Francisco or the LA Rams.
Add on the fact the NYJ have been a joke of a franchise with an idiot owner and of course he’s able to go rogue and do whatever the hell he wants including playing coach and part time GM.
Him moving on actually got me back to being really interested in following the Packers. I’ve always been a fan, but the last several years of disappointments and all the distractions got really exhausting. I can’t imagine it was a lot of fun for the players and coaches either.
What’s really funny is the Jets could have left things be and basically tanked the 2023 season, canned their coaching staff and front office and started over - much like you are seeing with Washington and they likely would have had a top 5 pick to choose a real QB of the future. Now? They gave up picks for a wasted season and after this next year it’s likely they tear it all down and start over in a much weaker QB draft class.
This should be a lesson to all NFL teams out there but unfortunately nearly half the teams in the league are owned and run by complete morons. All the money in the world won’t change some of these teams unless they sell and the owner or owners let their football experts run the day to day operations of building and sustaining a roster. Too many of these guys like Jerruh and Tepper want to play GM and it’s pretty clear that doesn’t work. Some of the other owners hit the genetic lottery and were handed keys to the kingdom with no clue on how to run a successful business.
Say what you want about the Packers structure but it’s still better than some overbearing or disinterested owner.

Pretty sure the reason "he chose the Jets" was because the other option was Jeopardy

He knew that if he could make it there he could make it anywhere.
I doubt Jeopardy was ever an option. That was stated many times by the Jeopardy producers.
He could've gone to Denver in 2022....his buddy was there as head coach. Too bad that didn't happen. Would've been amazing.
We've seen this before. Remember when Rodgers wanted to meet with MLF to have more input on game plans? And then it was reported that he didn't show up to some of those meetings? And how Cobb had to be brought back to GB so he had someone to talk to? Yeah, GB was getting yanked around by Rodgers as well. It's wonderful to not have to go through that drama and s***show every day. It's fun now to see MLF actually running the team, and his offense actually being run with the motion, spreading the ball around, etc.
It's almost as if MLF just arrived and implemented is offense in 2023. They look that different.
It will be interesting to see how defenses adjust to the "new" offense and how MLF counters.
In MLF's first year, Rodgers stuck much more to MLF's offense. Then he started taking it apart, criticizing that he didn't like the motion, etc., and that changed everything. We are just seeing what MLF's offense looks like.
But, I agree. They look vastly different. And yes, I worry about how MLF counters. He tends to be a bit slow in adjusting to what's in front of him. If he improves on that, then it's going to be a great year.
I think that not only did the young players learn a ton this year so did MLF. I am extremely impressed with how you managed that offense and tailored it to the players. Not only that but he also had to step in with the defense to get that unit playing decently.
If this team stays healthy, they have a good draft this year, and the defense really takes a step I would want no part of the Packers if I had to play them.

Yeah that first year we did see some of his offense and it was really fun to watch. Jones also had a great season for the same reason he did at the end of this year when everything was humming.
Then there was the “meeting of the minds” the 2nd year where Rodgers got involved, and we went back to hero ball. It just looked more like MM’s offense again (which was probably also just Rodgers offense).
Even with the up’s a downs this year it’s obvious that MLFs offense as he built it is very fun to watch when executed properly. But it always felt like Rodgers never wanted to see that through.
Packers offense looked exactly like SF's offense. That play they call "leak" where the TE is wide effing open down the right sideline or left sideline early in the year where Musgrave tripped over the turf monster.
Multiples....it's the key 🗝️ to being....offensive 😉
They are very similar offenses, most of the differences coming from the players that are in each. It's CMC, Kittle, Deebo and Aiyuk compared to Jones, Kraft/Musgrave, Reed, Doubs, Wicks.
So what does an Assistant GM do, besides being a buffer between the GM and the rest of the team?
Fetches the donuts for the morning meetings.

Could be MLF will be able to better adjust to what’s in front of him now that he has a QB who actually runs his offense.
So... to sum up?
no way I'm watching but my summation would be: airing of grievances and mocking people by the comfortably rich?
