PIT job could be open in a year. There was speculation about Tomlin this year, and another down year they may move on.

And Ben may walk after next season and the Steelers may have a shot at a new QB in the draft.

If Zimmer doesn't turn the ship around in 2019. Queens could be looking for a HC as well. 2018 was their all chips in year.

MM coaching in Sconnie's  neighboring state with kids still in school in GB could be rather appealing in 2020

There’s no way MM would coach in Minnie.  He has too many ties to Green Bay. Yes, he was fired, but any bad blood will eventually blow over and he’ll be remembered as a coach that brought the Lombardi home.

If he pulls a Bert and goes purple, most of that goodwill goes bye-bye. He’s smarter than that.

Bert, not so much.

I doubt MM will “settle” for an coordinator gig. Money shouldn’t be a problem for him so he can wait until 2020 and take a year off. As I said before, might be the best thing for him

Murphy mentioned in the PC that LaFluer stood out because of his enthusiasm and passion for wanting the job, while others were "just fired" and didn't seem to think that that they needed the GB job. He had to have been talking about Gase.

From Bob McGinn

Joe Philbin has been granted permission by the to interview for the offensive line job with the . Philbin spent 10 yrs. in GB, including 2018 as OC for 12 games and interim HC for four games. Minn looking for permanent replacement for the late Tony Sparano.

On MM, why would anybody hire him at this point?  Sure, he won a Super Bowl... what, 8 years ago?  He somehow managed to have a predictable and stale offense with the best player in the NFL at the most important position.  Not only that, but all signs point towards a deteriorating relationship through time with said franchise player.

I wouldn't hire his ass either.

Gase continues to sound like an epic tool.

I think the other issue with MM, and he probably admitted it in his interview, is that he'd bring the same "yes men" assistants with him. Dudes like Perry, Moss, hell even Zook he'd plop right back on his staff. He doesn't do coaches who challenge his ideas/schemes, etc well.

Packers grant Joe Philbin permission to interview with Vikings

The Packers have granted Joe Philbin permission to interview for the offensive line job with the Vikings, Bob McGinn of bobmcginnfootball.com reports.

The Vikings are seeking a permanent replacement for Tony Sparano, who died of heart disease last July.

Philbin spent 10 years in Green Bay in two different stints, including serving as offensive coordinator for 12 games this season and four games as interim head coach after the Packers fired Mike McCarthy.

He was the Dolphins’ head coach from 2012-15.

Philbin has experience as an offensive line coach, having held that job previously in Green Bay and Indianapolis as well as the college ranks.

In MM’s defense, said franchise player has a history of deteriorating relationships.

Let the brain drain commence. Vikings are terrified of Green Bay.
