I guess they run some cutting action behind Lopez if he comes up higher on the screens. Try to get points out of the dunker spot?

This adjustment should've been done in game 1. Does Budd purposely try to make it hard? Or is he not wanting to "show his cards"? Because where they played Lopez in game 1 is a fucking disgrace.

The Bucks ain't losing to any team this year if they continue playing like that.

I said it after game 1. Why beat Durant & the Nets if you're just going to lose to the Hawks?

Go crush them again in their own stadium 🏟️......TWICE!! Give it to us!

Solid win and they needed it.  If the Bucks play their game, it’s tough to beat them.

Bud still had Lopez back on D, but his drop was near top of the key not in the restricted area.  Holiday was also a lot more aggressive playing over the top and around the pick and roll and when Giannis or Middleton came out to help it made Young really ineffective.

Portis certainly made an a impact as did Forbes and Pat C.  Yes, they made more 3s but it’s not like they were phenomenal from outside.  The difference was Milwaukee was +32 in the paint and they killed the Hawks on the glass.  If Atlanta can’t get easy points or second chances off Young lobs/floaters they won’t win.

Bucks had to win this one and now Atlanta has to adjust.  My guess is more Gallinari and Reddish and perhaps a little less Capela or Collins.  All I know is if the Bucks can get game 3 the pressure is squarely on the Hawks as it should be.

Really nice breakdown by James Herbert of CBS Sportsline:

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/...-pick-and-roll-game/

The Bucks used Young’s aggressiveness against him in game 2. He wants to attack the paint in the P&R and with Lopez dropping near the rim it was all too easy. I think the Bucks were too afraid of their 3 point shooting. But this time the sagged into the passing lanes and brought Lopez out further to challenge- and it generated 19 turnovers and neutralized Young.

But even with all that, to me this game was more about the Bucks making baskets. Atlanta had scoring droughts in game 1, but they didn’t pay for them. Last night they did. The primary Bucks shooters were 14-29 from 3 last night. The same guys were 8-35 Wednesday night. That’s fewer transition opportunities, more pressure to score, and it has a psychological effect that clearly manifested itself in the 20-0 run in the 2nd Q. The Bucks don’t have to be great from 3- just good enough- and Atlanta won’t be able to keep up with them with Giannis attacking downhill and Holiday continuing to abuse Young. And that’s how they’ll have to play to win this series to advance to the Finals.

An embarrassing, butt kicking for the Hawks. Giannis dominated the paint and Jrue played his game. Total domination. Now, lets take that energy on the road and beat the Hawks at their home.

The Bucks should put this up in the locker room to remind everyone.

Game 2: Nets 125, Bucks 86, Bucks win Series in 7.

Game 2: Bucks 125, Hawks 91, ???

They need similar energy in Game 3. If they have a repeat performance and dominate, the Hawks will know how the series will end.

If game 2 was a must win for Milwaukee, then I think game 3 is a must win for Atlanta.   If the ATL doesn’t take game 3, I just don’t see the Hawks winning 3 of 4 against the Bucks with 2 of them being in Milwaukee.

This is the problem if you are the Hawks.  They won a one possession game with Young playing out of his mind and the Bucks playing like garbage.  The Bucks played their game and blew them out.  Oh, and Middleton hasn’t had a decent game yet.  What’s more likely to happen?  You have to figure the Bucks have at least one or two decent shooting games left in this series so the Hawks have to overcome a lot just to stay in this.

4 possessions. Already down 7-0. So much for setting a tone.

3 turnovers and a missed long 3. 3 fast breaks for all 7 Hawk points.

Way to go guys. Actually, way to go Bud. Where's a post-up or a set play to get the ball inside the paint? Just dumb not to push this advantage to start.

BK - I think this is likely a loss. I think the Bucks come back in Game 4 and win, but they are not getting any breaks in terms of officiating, Giannis already has two fouls, and the Bucks are down 14 in the first.

It’s bullshit.  The Hawks are a finesse team they should not get any fucking calls.  Yet Huerter and Bogs can play grabass and still get the benefit of the doubt?  Pathetic

The way they are out hustling the Bucks they don’t look finesse.

Nasty dunk by Lopes.

They are soft as tissue paper

They looked soft crushing the Bucks on the boards at the end of  game one.

The only reason the Hawks are even in this against a far superior Bucks team is they play so fucking hard. The Bucks need to pick it up and play harder.
