Packers just signed Zach Ramirez. Rook out of Portland St. Actually played using the name Zach Brown I believe. Looking for some of his stats and info on Portland States discrimination policy.

No, this idiot sees it too. I was thinking a Tim Wakefield knuckleball. He doesn't hit the ball right IMO. He doesn't consistently have that nice end-over-end that keeps the ball straight.

It's not easy watching someone go from trying to make kicks to trying not to miss kicks. That's Crosby right now. the ball is all over the place. Gets worse the harder he hits it. It's a long shot he ever gets his mind right in GB. Not that he can't but no team has the time to spare while a K sorts things out. Change of scenery might do him wonders.

http://blogs.nfl.com/2013/04/1...displays-strong-leg/ Not sure if this kid is the answer...but jesus **** thank you...the other two dumdums need to go Pro Days Portland State’s Zachary Ramirez displays strong leg Gil Brandt By Gil Brandt | Published: April 11th, 2013 | Tags: 2013 pro days, Portland State, super regional combine, Zachary Ramirez Representatives from four NFL teams gathered at Portland State’s pro day on March 12, where a top kicking prospect displayed a strong leg while working out outdoors on FieldTurf. Zachary Ramirez (who went by Zachary Brown at Portland State, but his legal name is Zachary Ramirez) measured 6-foot 1/2-inch, 203 pounds. He did not run the 40-yard dash or the shuttle, but did a 34-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-5 broad jump. Six kickoffs went into the end zone, and was also a perfect 6-for-6 on field goal attempts at the pro day, including making two from 55 yards out. As one of the top kickers at the Football Championship Subdivision level, Ramirez was 17-for-18 on field goal attempts during the 2012 season. At the Super Regional Combine held in Dallas on April 7-8, Ramirez missed just one field goal attempt, which came from 40-plus yards out. Ramirez’s leg strength makes him a draftable player.

03/17/13 - 2013 Portland State Pro Day: Brown alleviated any concerns that he might not have fully recovered from a knee injury during his senior season by blasting the majority of his kicks. He boomed four kickoffs into the end zone, all with good hang time, and then took turns kicking from the left and right hash marks from increasing distances. He missed his first kick from 25 yards out, then made his next eight kicks before missing his second from 45 yards.

He made one of two from 52 and apparently impressed the scouts enough that they decided to test him from 55 yards out. His first kick bounced off the pole, off the net and off the pole again (Brown said it would have been good) and his second cleared easily. "It was a little more than what I expected, but I'm happy," he said.

Tom Silverstein ‏@TomSilverstein 1m The FG period at the end of practice is going to be interesting. Three kickers and a strong, swirling wind. Wonder if Grammatica or Steve Sax gets cut today

@TyDunne:  They're not messing around today. Going 60 yards. Crosby, Tavecchio, Ramirez all good.

@TyDunne:  There is a wind helping them out.

@TyDunne:  Crosby is good from 63. Tavecchio no good. Ramirez drills it.

@TomSilverstein: Crosby and Ramirez were 10 of 11. Tavecchio was 9 of 11.

HOORAY!!

Are you certain TT will cut Crosby? It seems like Crosby was up to the task today. There must have been plenty of pressure on all three kickers.

Crosby holds up to that pressure, but then turns in to a head case during the regular season. I don't get it.

Does make one wonder why he wasn't brought in sooner.

MM said they had looked at Ramirez in the past and wanted another look.

Not just a "regular season head case" thing Boston. Remember family night? Last weeks 3 misses in a row from 43?

No clue what Ramirez is like in an NFL game. But I think he's the new K in GB.

After last year and this preseason, I can't see how GB goes into the season with Crosby. Cut Crosby now And let Ramirez and Pinnochio fight for the spot. Maybe even take a look at Carpenter.
