McCarthy today on Nelson: "Jordy plays every position at a high level in our WR packages, except for out of the backfield. We're saving that for this week."

Mike gets a little MoJo back and all of a sudden he's going mad genius on everyone.
Packers open at -3
Take it!
Bet the over. Especially if Darius Slay is out.
PAD Statford will make a mockery of #Domfense.
Rodgers will do the same to the Lions.
Pray we win the shootout

I see 2-3 picks/strip-sacks for the #domfense.

More like trolling the loins.
One hit to Stafford's middle finger is all it should take.
Our corners need to show the fk up. Our corners make everyone look as if they are Julio Jones.
So, should we root for the Lions tonight since they can clinch a playoff berth with a win and might might not be as tough against us if they're already in the playoffs? Just saw the Cowboys activated Randy Gregory so he may make his 2016 debut tonight.
It's unnatural for me to root for the Lions. Sht, it's unnatural for me to root for the cowboys. Hmmmm... Guess I'll hope for a long bruising game.
Go boys.

Advantage Lions!
Jordy Nelson's 2 TDs on Saturday gave him 14 for the season, making him the first player in #Packers history to register 13+ TD catches in three different seasons (2011, 2014, 2016). #GoPackGo
McCarthy on week: Try to give players as much time as possible to get their bodies back. Weâll go on the field Wednesday, late afternoon.
McCarthy on Allison: Heâs done a really good job. When he gets an opportunity he makes plays. Itâs what your young players need to do.
McCarthy on week: Weâve done a lot self-scouting. Weâre going to make sure weâre doing the things right, the discipline of it.
McCarthy on Cobb: Just had to tell him no. Had medical info and when see heâs not quite right. We took a leap there in Chicago.
McCarthy on long week: I love it today. It was a challenge coming in. Weâve made it through. Extra day will benefit us, I hope.
McCarthy on Perry: Says a lot about Nick. Spent a lot of time in training room trying to get case comfortable. Made adjustments at halftime.
McCarthy on secondary: We gave up big plays, but that 3rd Q defense put us in a position to break the game open but we didnât respond.
McCarthy on secondary: Oce again we sustained an injury. Randall was on the bubble, he wanted to play. Guys are scrapping away.
McCarthy on Matthews: Heâs getting stronger each week based on the setback he has each game. Obviously, felt a lot better in Vikings game.
McCarthy on team: This group has a little bit of an edge. They donât swing too high or too low emotionally. Like the demeanor. Donât blink.
McCarthy on team since 4-6: The team never changed. Saw progress, sometimes you donât see progress in wins and losses. But you saw progress.
Lions look banged up after Cowboy game. Not as banged up as us but still very beatable. Sunday Night Football is a must win for them so I expect a fight in their house.
Get to Stafford!
Go Pack Go!
I wasn't a bloodbath, but the Loins got knocked around tonight, especially in the 2nd half and last quarter. Stafford got beat up, but he will be ready to play next Sunday night.
As a team, it looks like the Loins are worn out. They didn't appear to have the stamina to play much more than a half of football; after that, there was a LOT of hands on hips/sucking air, the big uglies on the lines getting slower, and motivation was waning.
Good or bad, their offense remains somewhat potent. Perhaps not enough to match a 35+ point total, but enough to where they could easily swing a close game with a big play. They were also able to convert 1st downs and sustain drives when Zenner was killing the 'Boys in the first half.
I think it's practically a given they will have some success with both against us, but the key, of course, will be limiting them. An effective pass rush would be an excellent way to do just that.
I also wonder if DallAss showed a 'blueprint' of defending the Detoilet offense...
I saw NOTHING from the Loins defense that scares me. I found it interesting that DallAss rushed 30 times. We don't 'zackly have a Zeke in the backfield, but still don't see why we can't pound 'em with Michael, Monty, and Ripper. They look susceptible to the run, and it keeps Padford off the field.
As the boss Boris pointed out, no Darius Slay (who's not expected to play this week again) is like having no Sam Shields or HHCD for GB. It's a massive difference in the secondary. And as Timmy observed, I would agree the Lions just look gassed at this point in the season.
Caldwell was an idot tonight to keep putting Stafford out there with the game out of control, meaningless, and he takes 2 more big sacks and limped off the field. Don't get that.
On a short week, I think Stafford walks onto that field pretty sore.
Best way to protect the porous Packer secondary is with an effective pass rush. Stafford has always had the tendency to make stupid mistakes when uncomfortable in the pocket and that's the key. No reason to believe AR and the Packer offense won't continue to function at a very high level.
Our team has taken more than its share of hits this season. Mike, Aaron, Jordy, Cobb, TJ, Buckcherry, Maddog Daniels, Bloodline, Pep, Mason C., other vets stepped up. Youngsters were up and down but are finding a groove. Monty is the man. Etc., etc.
i like our chances. No one wants to play this team now, nobody.
Except maybe Eli. And of course Belichick and Brady.
We'll cross those bridges when we get to them, though.
Go Pack.

Yesssssss!
Lions kept it pretty competitive early, Stafford made some really nice throws that made him look like he's actually a good QB and not the INT machine we've come to know and love. If our D is focused and has the momentum then they can shut him down, but if they start feeling sorry for themselves it will be a shootout. Gotta get pressure on him and keep hitting him. Once he starts hearing footsteps, like he did against Dallas, he starts reverting back to being a gunslinger and gives the D opportunities.
Defensively the only player that scares me for Detroit is Ansah. He looked healthy again and looked like the player he is capable of being. Buckcherry will have his hands full there. Beyond that they aren't that impressive without Slay.
Bull****! You can't really read the future, Digger. I'll tell you what will happen. There is a greater than 90% chance that one team will score more points than the other. Ultimately, I don't know which team will do the majority of the scoring, but that is exactly why I will be watching in the first place. The DRAMA!
Ansah doesn't scare me. he's from Ghana. How good can he be? I've been to Ghana. The quality of American Football is really poor. Our version of Bert has thrown 300 more ints, although he does enjoy a larger penis than your Bert.
talk about a mental problem, yeah I'm talking about catts. I can't imagine watching the Packers play Detroit and trolling around on a dallass message board during the game. who does that? well, catts, the disturbed, apparently. or is it lonely? all them cats ain't good enough company? wtf?

Must be affecting his dropback. Center probably stepping on his penis during the exchange. Pants might help.
North Americans and their obsession with pants. I don't get it!
What exactly does this mean?
but if they start feeling sorry for themselves
How beat up did Stafford get last night? Will that effect his practice time during the week? McCarthy commented the other day that Rodgers not practicing during the week was not a concern of Rodgers and reps for him, but the impact that could have on the other players not getting the reps with the #1 when they are implementing / going through the game plan.
Perhaps not the best description, but they seem to stack failures when the momentum shifts. The swings in momentum or attitude can lead to them either playing dominant D or looking like a high school team.
it's appeared to me for years that our DBs usually suck at zone coverage. when we get the lead we go prevent (our possible victory). GBP prevent D seems to be taught to allow any catch and then tackle rather than match up and defend. that seems ridiculous to me so I fall back on we can't play zone for crap. and I don't know why.
When an opposing offense gets GB's defense on it's heels it looks like a chainsaw through butter. And it can happen that fast and seemingly out of nowhere. It's one of the damndest things I've ever seen. But it happens on a regular basis to Dom's defense at least once per game. The defense will be holding it's own. Then it's 4 completetions, maybe a 20 yard run, and seven points in a minute twenty and youre wondering what the eff just happened.
I think that maybe Witt and Capers have our DB's play zone is because (unlike in the past) we suck at man coverage. I agree with TDog that we also suck at zone. But I think we suck at zone coverage a bit less than we currently suck at man. Gunter might be the exception but he gets burned by faster WR's. My hope is that with experience our DB's get better at man coverage's. A good pass rush helps the DB's in zone against the big play. I can understand why Capers calls the defense like he does. It would work IF #1 the pass rush causes pressure and #2 the DB's are in position to defend the pass when it gets there late. Capers tries to disguise the rush because the D line cannot get enough pressure with just a 4 man rush and we need to send more than 4 just to get a decent pass rush. Clay is unpredictable and that alone is his weapon and why he is on the field even when hurt. Our current coverage problems will continue until we can get a strong pass rush or good man coverage from everybody. We have some undrafted speedsters as backup DB's but like Shields was when new they are too raw to be trusted.
Getting big games from Clay, Nick, and the guys up front will make the DBs look much better. That was the difference in the 2nd half until the game was essentially over. Then Capers schemes/defends everything in front of them, don't let them beat you over the top.

I thought it was as good a way as any to put it, and accurate too. They need to even their keel. Especially in a game like this one coming up.
Couple bad plays don't mean you suck. Forget the play that just happened and focus on the next one.
I don't think they suck in Man coverage at all, I would say that's probably the strength of the DBs...they're young and athletic and aggressive. The struggles in Zone are issues of youth IMO. Zone coverage is killer when you have guys like Peanut Tillman back there hunting the ball. Randall/Rollins/Gunter are all just in year 2, they're not reading the QB like they should and they're giving up too much ground in their zones. Part of it also is that our Safeties have been highly overrated in coverage...HHCD and Burnett aren't the security blanket over the top that they need to be. Young CBs aren't getting deep enough in their drops because they're peaking the backfield and Safeties aren't reading the QB or tracking the ball fast enough and it's vacating a huge spot right along the sidelines in the deep quarter.
This, to me, is where coaching vs. front office seem to clash more than anything. I'm sure Capers would prefer to have savvy veterans guarding the boundaries rather than young players who don't see what they need to be seeing. Thompson prefers inexpensive youth that will grow up in the system.

HaHa's bad angle on the long Thielen TD is a perfect example of this.
Pressure from Matthews, Perry, Daniels, Lowry, Clark, Jones, Peppers, Guion.
