So he sign with the Packers PS? At first I read that as he turned down multiple offers from the Packers to sign with the Packers PS.

I didn't remember that. So I tried to find some information about it. The only thing I found was that he started 6 games in his rookie year - and that doesn't mean he played those games entirely. And it doesn't say where he was for the other 10 - could have been on the PS. What I remember was that he had a really good rookie camp and made the Packer roster. Without proof - it doesn't mean I am correct though.

I don' think there was a practice squad then as we know it today. There was a taxi squad which actually started in the 1940's with the Browns in the old AAFC.
I checked Drivers book and all he states is that he did not dress for fist 9 games of the 1999 season coached by Ray Rhodes. It was Ron Wolf who really helped Driver the most. Told him to practice hard and remain positive. He got his 1st real chance when Mike Sherman took over in 2000. The rest is history as they say.
I remember Driver wrote a rookie journal for JSO during training camp. He was something special from the start.
Wolf was/will be incredible in the 7th. Timmerman, McKenzie, Tauscher, Driver.

I thought in his first season Driver made the initial 53, then spent time on the PS, then back on the 53. It wasn't long but he spent time there.

Read Driven. You will find no mention by Driver that he was ever on the practice squad.
I believe you. No idea where I got that. He was inactive a lot of games his first season, but yeah, not seeing that now.
Can't help but pull for Geronimo though. Watching him at camp in July, I watched him as he was standing with all the receivers. The group is just standing there watching, Adams on 1 knee, the rest just standing and staring. Not Geronimo. He's shifting from 1 leg to the other the whole time and talking up guys around him. Just visibly excited. Same kind of enthusiasm Driver seemed to have.
Point being, it is rare but receivers can start on the PS and still make it in the NFL. Danny Woodhead was one. Would love to see Geronimo be the next.
I was wrong on Driver being on the practice squad--must've confabulated the inactive status into that--but concur on the potential of Allison and think he's first off the list if an injury happens.

Looks like Ted was crushed by all the media types saying his team was slow after the Cardinals ran them off the field in the regular season game last year.
40 times for rookie offensive skill position players and defensive backs:
Kentrell Brice = 4.38
Trevor Davis = 4.42
Marwin Evans = 4.40
Josh Hawkins = 4.39
Jhurell Pressley = 4.39
Almost made the roster but not quite:
Makinton Dorleant = 4.39
I am wondering if the Packers might play a base defense of 6 db's, 3 corners and 3 safeties. Perhaps a 2-3-6 formation.
Reason being the dearth of ILB's, the many safeties, and the fact the Pack base D in 2010 was 3 corners and 2 safeties.
If so, my guess is Clinton Dix is primarily a LoS safety responsible for short interior pass coverage and helping against the run. He likely takes up much of the responsibility of an ILB.
I'm the first to acknowledge I know little of the X's and O's so thought to throw this out there and see whether or not it seems viable to any of y'all.

Except I have Morgan Burnett playing the role you describe for HHCD. Burnett is very good close to the LOS, and I'd rather see Ha Ha be able to use his range and playmaking ability to serve as both a last line of defense and a roving jackal back there.
