Raji is my whipping boy of choice now (I suspect he'll sign that one year deal). Bush is at least a hard worker, Raji doesn't even try.

Bush does give it his all every play. I don't mind him on the team one bit.
As far as Raji goes, save the money on someone who is motivated to play. I think Raji has been smoking too many blunts because he sure seems like a lazy SOB.
Good day in the NFC North....Duh bares just lost their best QB.
Tampa bay bares.
I didn't say I wanted Raji back, but I have a feeling he's going to be on the roster in 2014.
I liked this series of tweets from Wilde last night:
Jason Wilde â@jasonjwilde <small class="time"> 16h</small>I think I'm done with Twitter for tonight. I leave you with what Ted Thompson's dad, Jimmy, said to me in '07. (It'll take multiple Tweets.)
Jason Wilde â@jasonjwilde <small class="time"> 16h</small>"I thought for a while that he ought to be spending more money on some of these high-priced fellas. But he's taking the approach ...
Jason Wilde â@jasonjwilde <small class="time"> 16h</small>"... with these young players, and I kinda think it may work out. Ted says a lot of these big-name free-agent players ...
Jason Wilde â@jasonjwilde <small class="time"> 16h</small>"... they're on the decline but they still rank a big salary. He thinks the better way to go is to build." ~ Jimmy Thompson, 2007
The successful teams like GB, NE, PIT, NYG, etc. know you have to keep the talent you have developed from the beginning. He doesn't lose guys in free agency that he wants to keep, guys he believes will help GB win, because he signs them before they hit the market. He gambles a lot that the player will continue to ascend after he re-signs them, in some cases he has been proven right (like Jordy Nelson) and in some cases he has been proven wrong (AJ Hawk).
I like how some sports sites are giving free agency grades to teams. Based upon what? The amount of money they've spent so far and/or the PAST performance of the players signed? Hard to really give a grade until after a couple years just like draft grades. I'm guessing TT has rarely received a good grade based upon free agent signings.
Everyone knows you can't accurately evaluate a Free Agency class until after the pre-season predictions have come out.
Time will tell, but when one factors in the whole potentially wasting Aaron Rodgers in his prime, I am at least open to the possibility that in retrospect this will go down as a season in which management ought to have done more in FA.

That's true, but any season which doesn't end with a Super Bowl win opens the possibility that in retrospect management ought to have done more in FA.

The sad thing for them is that he's probably an upgrade over that incredible stiff Conte. See Cobb, Randall...
My first thought also. How bad does a player have to be to make Jenniings an upgrade.

Well, fellers, that's it. That's the end of free-agency right there.
May as well start threads for next year's season, because this one is done and over with. How in the world can anybody stop the Bears now?

2 sacks last year as a NT. Wonder if that was more than MariRaji???

I think I join most of Packer Nation in having never heard of the guy, but if the Pack had signed him at 3pm yesterday for $18M over 4, the anti-Ted crowd would be turning cartwheels.
Just has the sordid moral attribute of having a hard on for jerking chains.
To each his own.
Did the Bears sign Jennings?
The injury to Rodgers should have shown Ted and company something. That one of the youngest teams in the league year in and year out can't win without a superstar at QB.
Thank goodness they have a superstar at QB, huh?!
Wow, good point. It will be so much cheaper though to back up Arod with another superstar QB. Trade for Brady and pay him 18 million a year or acquire Ware, Talib and Ward for 30 million a year? I say, trade for Brady tightwad Ted.
What we need here, guys, is a meeting in the middle.
Of course, we can't afford a QB like Brady or Manning, nor can we afford another clusterf*** like Vince Young/Seneca Wallace, but we can afford some first-round talent. That's right, I'm talking Christian Ponder, bitches!!
Think about it; he meets all of our requirements for backup QB:
Veteran presence, game experience, leadership, and we won't have to break the bank for him.
I know TT can make a trade for him! Just do it Ted!!!
How are we not 2 deep with superstar QBs? That seems like a terrible oversight on Thompson's part.
Awesome. Hope they start him against Arod.
Too busy looking for nose tackles that can squat a house.
Well, fellers, that's it. That's the end of free-agency right there.
It kind of is. How good can a player be if even MD Jennings was signed before him.
The should hand out plaques to everyone who signs from here on out and call them Conte Awards.
I think the Packers will sign Danials. I also think Raji is finding out what we fans figured out last year...going through the motions and eating yourself out of the league leaves you with not too many options. My feeling is GB re-signs Raji to a 1 year deal with incentives and the fatass better come back in shape and willing to play.

Your thoughts on this, #Packers fans? RT @ChicagoBears: Emery on M.D. Jennings: Good range, good coverage skills, good special teams player.
WTF?!?!?!?!? Does he know what Jennings he just signed? There's quite a few of them. He can't be talking about Doc Jennings. Our Doc Jennings. I mean their Doc Jennings.
He meant the other FA star from last year: Greg Jennings.
Maybe he thinks he just signed Tim Jennings. This would at least make sense since he's been a Bear for the past 4 years.
