Television is relieved.
Can confirm reports that Matt Cassel has re-signed with the Vikings. it's a 2-year deal
SOOPER BOWL HOMEBOY!!
Just throwing this out there but Darren Sproles? He would make a nice 3rd down back. 71 receptions last year. I wonder what his price would be? And, I know we have other backs and younger back to probably fill that spot but probably not as good. Just a thought. Maybe Franklin is our Sproles of the future.
Was reading somewhere the Packers were looking to bring Kuhn back. I think RB would be the last place they spend money.

Franklin is a dynamic football player... we don't need Sproles.
man I heard Havel and Henry on Friday going all gaga on getting Sproles and all I was thinking was "we already have a Sproles on our team. his name is Jonathan Franklin."
yeah, pass.
MinnesotaWTF: Vikings gave Everson Griffen a 5-year $42.5 million deal. So much for Zimmer's hopes Spielman would go after Michael Johnson.
I don't get Reggie letting Veldheer hit the market, he's a good, young LT, they have a metric crapton of cap space and can front-load a deal to make it cap-friendly in the future. Are they that sold on Menelik Watson after he was repeatedly injured his rookie season? Heck, Watson's only a year younger than Veldheer.
His contract demands must be ridiculous. If Ozzie re-signs Monroe that should set the market.
Steelers will release LB LaMarr Woodley at 4 ET Tuesday, designate him a post June 1 casualty, per source. He will be free to sign Tuesday.

I'm thinking they are no longer looking at Byrd and his $9mm hopes.
Rumors in Whiner Country that Whitner is headed to Cleveland where he's from originally.
Loius Delmas is originally from Miami and went back there to sign as FA; making SS Chris Clemons available in 2014
Maybe Whitner does the same; going back home to play in Cleveland and ensuring that TJ Ward will be with a new team in 2014
Per a league source, the Buccaneers are actively shopping Revis. The development was first reported by Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, who explains that the Buccaneers are âstepping upâ efforts to trade Revis. This implies that they previously were trying to trade him. Before Monday, they apparently werenât.
There had been a theory in league circles that the Broncos and/or the Patriots were trying to shake Revis free from the Bucs. Suddenly, the story is that the Buccaneers are affirmatively trying to move him.
And hereâs an intriguing angle. While itâs believed that the fourth-round pick that the Buccaneers owe the Jets to complete the trade becomes a third-round pick on the third day of the league year, itâs possible that the draft pick accelerates at 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday. (Weâre currently trying to nail that down.) If true, this means that, if the Bucs trade Revis, they need a deal that compensates for the loss of a higher pick, since thereâs no way to trade him before the draft pick upgrades.
Revis also is due to receive a $1.5 million roster bonus on Thursday.
So since the Broncos and Patriots were believed to be interested in trading for Revis, theyâll now try to do it, right? Not necessarily. Now that the Bucs have decided to move Revis, the Broncos, Patriots, and any other interested teams may decide to wait for the Buccaneers to cut Revis, which may be the teamâs only option now that the trade cat is out of the bag and clawing up the furniture.
One way or the other, it looks like Revis will end up being a one-year player in Tampa.
Can't wait to see what Patti and Arrigo have in store over this gem..
Report: Absent a trade, Bucs will cut Revis on Wednesday
Posted by Mike Florio on March 10, 2014, 9:26 PM EDT
Well, that was fast.
We speculated within the last hour that, if the Buccaneers canât find a trade partner for cornerback Darrelle Revis, perhaps theyâll cut him. âPerhapsâ has now become âwill.â
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Bucs will indeed cut Revis on Wednesday if they canât find a trade partner. The move would avoid a $1.5 million roster bonus due Thursday. It also would cause the Bucs to avoid having a fourth-round pick upgrade to a third-round pick as the final piece of compensation to the Jets for the trade that sent Revis to Tampa last year.
(Per a league source, the fourth-round pick upgrades if Revis is on the roster after 4:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday.)

Tuesday March 11th 12:43 am Tampa Bay Times reporting
Tampa Bay Bucs have traded Darelle Revis to the San Francisco 49ers for their 3rd round pick in the 2014 Draft. 49ers will assume and re-work his contract
(not really; I just made that up so I could watch the self-immolations spread across the country)
well you don't get to be SATAN by prancing through the fields humming ballads and throwing rose petals to the wind.
It's interesting watching all these players that sign big contracts getting cut a few years later because of their salary. Makes you pause and wonder if it's all worth it.
Revis makes what, 15 million per year in base or something like that?
anybody heard from Calbuc with the new/old/continued mess going on in Tampa. Giving up a #1 and at least a #4 and 16 million for one year of Revis is crazy. Not only that, I read the Bucs can unilaterally reduce his yearly salary to a signing bonus which reduces the cap number by 9 million. Not sure why they have to release him. They have plenty of cap space.
Well at least they have some new uniforms they can look forward to.
As of yesterday...

WOW! If Shields is worth 10 mil a year, Revis is worth 16. Good move by the Niners. Not so good for us. That was the one weakness on that defense.
SATAN!!!! Just read the bottom of the post. I hate you.
Apparently, Revis asked to be released. He refuses to wear the new unis.
When do the Pokes and Steeler's have to be under the cap?
From WalterFootball:
3/11: Jared Allen's wishlist: Packers, Buccaneers, Patriots, Giants, according to the Packer Report.
I don't know where Jared Allen would fit in GB? I understand he wants to play for a winner, but why would he want to make the conversion to OLB at this point in his career?
Back-up QB.
The Texans saved $4.5 million on the cap by releasing Daniels.
Owen Daniels counted $6.25 million on the cap. He was scheduled to make $4.5 million. He's recovered from a fractured fibula.
I don't know where Jared Allen would fit in GB?
Doesn't matter IF he would fit- what matters is that GB has cap space and Jared needs leverage. It also brings clicks and interest to the website as rabid Packer fans hoover up any and all info related to the Mighty Green Bay Packers
Every FA is linked to the Packers in some fashion... because its good for business
Owen Daniels in a Packer Uniform would be cool. I also like Garrett Graham. Presuming Finley is done
Probably true Satanori, just seemed like a weird team to express interest in. No question that the Packers would have zero interest and I'm sure every other team knows that. If that was Allen's goal or his agents goal then he failed.
Owen Daniels makes Mr. Glass look like 73 year old Chuck Norris
I don't know where Jared Allen would fit in GB? I understand he wants to play for a winner, but why would he want to make the conversion to OLB at this point in his career?
If he's strong, he'd be a perfect NT, even though he wouldn't really play there much.

I'm told the way it looks as of noon, the Chicago Bears have little competition in their pursuit of defensive lineman LaMarr Houston.
Bennett re-up's with Seattle and now Emery seems hell bent on the next DE on the FA list.
Would love to see TT jump in and drive that cost way up.
Man, Seahawks 5th from bottom at +3.1 and that is with a vastly underpaid Sherman and of course Wilson.
Sherman could be extended this year but Wilson isn't even elligible until next.
I'd love to see TT jump in and snipe the Bears for Houston at a somewhat reasonable cost. He'd be a good fit in Green Bay and it would also stymey the Bears.
We don't share the same opinion, get over it.
