I think that King would be ok as a #3 or #4 CB. As a Packers fan, I feel he was over drafted. The team thought that they might be getting a twofer when they traded down. That was not the case. It was an unrewarding risk. But that was then and this is now. I believe that he can be a valuable asset in a backup role later this year and let go after that. Somebody else will pay too much for him.
@Henry posted:You mean zero people other than the people who made those moves and run the Packers organization?
You think theyβre satisfied with the production from those two and donβt wish they had Teej? Like I said, zero people. They gambled and lost, I doubt they disagree. Also the person who made one of those decisions is dead, soβ¦
@Grave Digger posted:People keep screaming about Kevin King, Dean Lowry,
Why would Packer fans (as opposed to the Packer FRONT OFFICE devotees) possibly still be complaining about King and Lowry?
It is not like the Packer braintrust re-signed these 2 stiffs to undeserved and bloated second contracts after subjecting Packer fans to their subpar play (when King actually played that is) after all these years, right?
King missing games and playing poorly (other than the Cincy game) in 2021 is not a surprise to anyone who paid the slightest attention to his career ... other than, apparently, the FRONT OFFICE.
Do you have any football opinions other than FRONT OFFICE SUCKS AND IF YOU DISAGREE YOU ARENT A PACKER FAN!?!?!? Youβre either trolling this site or you have an unhealthy obsession. Iβm leaning toward the former because the latter is a really dumb thing to be obsessed with.
I see the pink border and long ass post and just scroll by.

So they double down on King?
so . . . what? The dead guy didn't give King a new contract.
@SteveLuke posted:LOL, Gute had $6M to play with at CB this offseason and what did he do with it?
He re-signed Kevin King when the. rest of the NFL didn't want him. Gutey ain't moving on from his boy, he is following in Ted's footsteps and gonna give him every chance to prove what a wise selection that was (over the player whose name dare not be named).
Gute doubled down on King just like he doubled down on Lancaster. And Redmond.
And Gute signed 2-time loser Campbell to replace last year's answer at ILB Kirksey. After signing KIrksey to replace his previous pickup Goodson to replace his pickup Antonio Morrison.
Those not sufficiently appreciative of the Pack's FRONT OFFICE might be inclined to think that Gute's revolving door at ILB has been as poor a decision as investing so much time and $ in King or his decision to pay Lowry and continue to rely on Lancaster.
Perhaps the problem on the defensive side of the ball, over not just the past 4 seasons but the past 11 years, has not just been the disappointing production out of so many 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks or only the sharty defensive coaching, but. again just perhaps, it is because the FRONT OFFICE has no clue what it is doing on that side of the ball.
On a completely separate note, where have Gute (and Murph) been working for the last 11 years?
@Henry posted:So they double down on King?

I said there are zero people who believe, present tense, it was a good resigning. Which is correct. All you ding dongs do is drive every discussion with this team back to front office ineptitude. Itβs fucking annoying. THE GRASS IS TOO LONG, BALL IS IN CHARGE OF OPERATIONS AND IS OUT OF CONTROL! WE LOST A GAME, WOULDNT HAVE LOST IF HE DIDNT HAVE THE STUPID SLEDDING HILL!
You're yelling now.
Truth hurts.
Back to back 13-3, now 4-1.
Truth.
Mission is to win the division not the Super Bowl. Truth.
I'm sure Casey Hayward having no interest in signing with Green Bay or if he was even approached is a one off.
Oh, no it isn't. It's a trend.
Truth.
Let's see if 13-3 happens when Rodgers is gone.
Truth.
Winning the Super Bowl is easy.
Caveman-esque.
I guarantee the Packers don't go 13-3 this year.
It helps when you try winning the Super Bowl.
14-3?
Whatever the record is it's pretty much on Rodgers. But then we all know that don't we.
Really need to get rid of that guy.
@H5 posted:I guarantee the Packers don't go 13-3 this year.
It' absolutely possible. They're certainly talented enough, but the schedule is pretty brutal and they have several key players banged up. What a way to start the new year by beating the Vikes and improve to 13-3.

Youβre going to be happy cheering for Denver Rodgers or the Pittsburgh Rodgers. Hitch your wagon to a winner and youβre smug for life. The difference is: I donβt give a shit why GB wins or how many bad contracts they throw out, I like everyone in the building. Theyβre winning, why be pissed about something?

Ummmmmm.
17 game season.
What?
But when they start the new year by beating the Vikes it will only be week 17, so they will be 13-3. Week 18 is 1/9.
Now you're doing maths on me.
Is 14-2 not an option? Or 15-1?
@Blair Kiel posted:Ummmmmm.

Yep, and after the 16th game of the season, on January 2 against the Vikes, it would be awesome if they were sitting at 13-3 with one game to go. So yes, it's certainly possible for the Packers to go 13-3 again.

Your projection of being "pissed" is just that, projection. You wrote something that was bullshit and I noted it was bullshit.
Right on queue you proceed with the Rodgers fan bit. You dragged this shit out, not me.
I'll enjoy the last hurrah just as I've stated numerous times. The difference is I'd like to see a competitive Packers team in the future and the moves being made aren't simply one off bonehead moves but a stupid, tired, antiquated approach not only to contracts but the concept of team building and player relations.
You can already see the stink of the 80's when no FA wanted to sign in Green Bay. What happens when there isn't a super star QB carrying the team? What happens to a solid, young coach when he has to contend with a rebuild and your FO keep throwing out shit contracts on stiff players with an overall shit ethos players aren't on board with?
You think it's bitching to just bitch? You think it's something just to make you sad? First of all, get over yourself. Secondly, it's a pretty bitter pill to swallow when Murphy himself has made mentions of successful seasons inferring butts in the seats was enough. It's also pretty fucking annoying to see this half ass approach on full display with multiple failings the FO keeps piling up in regards to coaches, players and contracts.
I root for the Packers, not the fucking Paul Brown Bengals or the Bill Bidwell Cardinals. You want to be satisfied with the fucks running a team essentially telling you to be satisfied that's your bit not mine.
It isn't about picking a front runner Rodgers team, it's about supporting the NFL at all if Packers FO tone deaf arrogance is the standard operating premise. You keep that fucking straight the next time you make an insinuation.

Itβs bitching just to bitch and to be mad about something. You have all this fan fiction written in your head about everything that has happened behind the scenes and what will happen. OH I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEYRE THINKING, HOW ARROGANT AND MOCKING THEY ARE, WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED BEHIND THE SCENES, WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS. Gimme a break. You like being right and saying itβs ALL Aaron Rodgers winning and these idiots are useless is easy pickins for being right when the marriage breaks up. Like yeah no duh GB is going to get worse when they donβt have Rodgers, my 3 year old could have come to that conclusion. Like yeah no duh teams are successful because of franchise QBs, thereβs only 75 years of evidence to support that notion. Yeah GB will probably suck for a bit without Rodgers and he will probably have a few successful years somewhere else, so if that validates your intelligence then Iβm genuinely happy for you. I donβt like GB making bad personnel moves either, which they do and uh also every team does too (Belichick is just killin itβ¦), but Iβm not mad about it. Apathy isnβt support. I choose to enjoy football and not obsess about the things I disagree with. This thread is a monument to people who get obsessively big mad about the silliest things. GB is fine, GB will be fine.

Mathletes.
Thatβs where all the easy chicks (hard up) hung out. Definitely not the prettiest, but sure things.
Go for it.

I don't expect you to understand how I view sports, particularly an anomaly that is the Green Bay Packers and the imprint it holds.
A trite, hackish, endlessly regurgitated response because you can't call a spade a spade is about all I expect out you anymore.
Stop clogging up threads bitching just to bitch about the FO.

This is what started it. One comment from me and your LOOK AT ME MAKING NO POINT AT ALL WITH TYPING IN CAPS BECAUSE IT HAS TO BE SOME KIND OF TROUBLE MAKER THAT WROTE A SINGLE SENTENCE MAKING ME LOOK LIKE AN ASS.
Don't say dumb shit and everything will be alright, particularly when you feel the need to make some half ass assessment about me or my fandom.
I thought it was a pretty bog standard throw away comment and here you are not ranting at all about it. Don't blame me for you pissing down your leg.

Yes I was the loser the moment I responded to Steve, even more so to you, that much is clear to me now. Trolls are effective.
