I'm glad that worked out so well for da queens! Most every Packer fan guessed the outcome of da queens' "having all the pieces" plan in place. Love that INT to give NO the ball and the momentum to win the NFCCG! Another queens' season ending without a ring and all because #4 threw that INT and also because the vikings suck!

It was great to see Favre choke away another season for a team other than GB for a change. I know he was a great player, but he had some awful good teams in that run and I think he cost us more championships that he won for us. I don't miss him and the drama and constant interceptions.

The Denver super bowl he tossed some bad passes especially on that last drive. First half turnover cost us.

There are two books on Favre.

Book One

I am forever grateful and fascinated by the "story" that brought him to Green Bay...missing intestines and all.... helped rescue a franchise..watching the young stallion develop...getting us to the Promised Land ect.

Book Two

What could have been but never was...wasting of talent...seeing him and wife as the lil beaches that they were.

Dick Pix though....geezus.

King is more like a joker at this point. His schtick is getting old... yet another year on IR is not a good way to make a team in the NFL. Playing 15 games in two years is not devastatingly bad (who was the Bears receiver who was drafted and didn't play for like two years?), but it ain't good.

Totally disagree.

Kevin King was drafted by Thompson injured, with the shoulder, for which he had surgery that was pretty extensive, with 12 pins inserted. Then he blows out the other one in his rookie year, but played through it until he couldn't take the pain anymore. He came back and suffered a groin and a hammy in 2018.

This is a very big dude. He's gifted being 6-3 with 4.45 speed. Came into this season knowing full well he needed to deliver, and had worked diligently on his strength and conditioning. Hamstrings happen to nearly every CB, S and WR.

“I know nobody is more frustrated than Kevin. I just know it’s been difficult for him and for all involved with the amount of time he’s missed in two years.” — Packers defensive coordinator Mike Pettine on the start of King’s career

The good news is it sounds like they were holding him out more as a precautionary measure, thereby avoiding a serious injury there.

At UW he injured the shoulder first as a freshman missing a bunch of games with the torn labrum, and played with it Sophomore through his Senior seasons, and was out with a concussion in their 2015 bowl game as a Junior. Didn't miss many games as a result of the shoulder his last 3 years there, playing in 12, 11 and 14 games to finish his career there.

This guy is tougher than people give him credit for. Will see. Hopefully he returns healthy again and has a solid season.

Neither LaFluer or Gutey seemed all that concerned with his hamstring after both PC today. As a general rule, it seems MLF is being cautious with ANY player who's had any hamstring issue this camp including guys like Aaron Jones too.

But bottom line, until he proves that he can string together a slew of games without injury, anything that he tweaks, bumps, bruises, strains will be fodder for fans and those in the media to squawk over.

Will he be a Casey Hayward who the Packers regretted letting go, in part because of injury history? Or will he be a Will Blackmon who the Packers rightly moved on from because he just couldn't stay healthy? Time will tell, but hopefully he's a lot closer to Hayward

"Schtick" was definitely the wrong word to use... my bad. Never implied that he wasn't trying hard but the injuries are definitely frustrating. Reminds me of Perry in a way: lots of talant, works, but can't stay on the field.

Wasn't trying to bust any balls. I totally get it with the frustration of King not really being able to show over his first two seasons, but the guy is seriously trying to right that ship from everything I've read on him.

If he's able to stay healthy this year, we could be in for something special in our defensive backfield. I know that is a big "if," and understand where you were coming from Fandame.

Just that there's a general consensus out there that will completely discount the kid, and I can see why given the circumstances, but think it's a little premature.

Nick Perry started 5, 6, 4 and 1 games in each of his first 4 years in GB. In 7 seasons he never once played all 16 games. For transparency, King also started 5 and 6 games his first two years, but I'm hoping he trends in the opposite direction of Perry, and I think there is good reason to think he might.

Nick Perry had 3 TFL in his first two seasons at DE/OLB. Kevin King had 2 while playing CB. That was one stat that really jumped out at me... wild.

BTW, cool article on King:  https://madison.com/wsj/sports...23-ac7518e3dfd2.html

Thanks for the article, Trophies! Growing up can be a good thing to do, and hopefully, it helps King realize his potential. When you're a pro, it's time to concentrate on what makes you money and what makes you successful. I hope he's on the field shortly.

This one stings because just about every fan at the time was almost sure the pick was going to be Watt.  2 years in and the competition is about done.  Sometime's GMs just over think things.

King, Jones, Adams, Biegel in the first four rounds.....not surprising this was TT's last draft (although sounds like Adams may be making a comeback).

I would say he needs to be available 14/16 games. And then if GB gets into the playoffs, you hope he's still vertical and able to play then too.

As someone else astutely posted here before, it's not out of the realm of possibility he's Wally Pipped out of his position by Tony Brown, who's had an outstanding camp.

Word yesterday, per Gutenheimer, is that King is "close" to returning. But if say King can't start the season and Brown comes in and plays well, King may see his starting role gone and is now relegated to a more part-time role. We'll see. Not like we've never seen that in the NFL.

Yeah, just ask Don Majkowski.

Peaching to the choir here... but King is obviously a talented dude.  If you can't stay healthy, you are of little use to the football team.  Some guys' bodies just aren't built to withstand life in the NFL.  King is either one of those guys or he's just unlucky on the injury front.  Either way, he's been basically worthless.

Jaire played 71% of total snaps in 2018, that’s what you would expect for a rookie. King is in year 3, he should be playing >90% of snaps. If he’s playing less than that it means he’s dinged up frequently, has another major injury, or is healthy and ineffective. Any scenario where he’s not a full time starter in 16 games plus playoffs is a failure for a 1st round pick about to head into a contract year. I will let year 3 and 4 play out before I call him anything, but he’s got some work to do. Guys can shed an early career injury  bug and go on to play full effective seasons, hope that happens!

All of them.

Not enough.

Watt made me nervous because he already had a bad knee injury.   I know King had a shoulder injury, but Watt made more than a few GM's nervous too.

Peaching

from that link:
To cup (not grab, cup) someones buttocks and yell, "Peaches!" If you successfully 'peach' the person, you yell "Got 'em!" If you slap someone instead of simply peaching, it does not count as a peach and therefore you did not complete the process of 'peaching'.
(...complete the process... my god, is there replay?)

I think he meant "Preaching".  Just missed the "r" - as in what is our football team missing.  Yesterday at work I was typing and meant to type the word "some" - but it came out as "dome".  I thought "how Packer-ish .... remove the "e" and you have "dom" - which in Packer-land should need no explanation".  Good thing I checked to be sure it was typed correctly.

Maybe you want to wait until he starts more than 6 games in a season before we heap praise on the player or pick.  Nobody doubts the talent.  But if it cant be displayed week in and week out, then it"s talent wasted.  And wasted talent does not a good pick make.
