Well, let's just hope it was some unfortunate circumstances to start his career, and he is able to come around and play a full season up to his standards. Doesn't sound like a guy one would consider a "malingerer," but rather one who just met up with some unfortunate stuff health wise. Man, if he can bring it this year, he could be a major difference maker. Good player. Just needs to stay healthy and available.

Passing on Watt? I couldn't fathom that, considering our needs in pass rush. That was a horrific trade down, considering TJ was there for us to take. PIT wasted ZERO time trading up. Ugh.

I think it’s unfair to link King to TJ. King can play. Just needs to stay healthy. King selection was a byproduct of Randall and Rollins. Randall and Rollins happened because the team felt Hayward was expendable. The organization as a whole mismanaged the CB position from 2014 to 2018. Lots of hands involved in that 5 year mess.

Alexander pick was huge. Amos and Savage at S should help calm the corners. Law firm of Smith, Smith and Gary certainly helps. If Josh Jackson figures things out...it’s a decent defense.

Oh, yeah! Could be absolutely spectacular. King's numbers were better than Richard Sherman's coming in, or very close. He's a player. Just hoping for the very best for him this season and beyond with the Packers. Loving our additions to the secondary this year. And, yes, Josh Jackson may be making a giant leap this season, yr 2 in Pettine's system. Hoping so.

Linking him to Watt may not be not fair to King personally, but from an overall historical perspective it's fair.  Gute (who was there) admitted last year that everyone in the Packers draft room was on board with TJW. Everyone, that is, except one person.  I don't think it is a coincidence that it was Ted Thompson's last draft.  As soon as he traded back with Watt on the board, whomever he took, the 2 players were going to be forever linked under those circumstances.

It's fair because it was a giant turdsmear on TT's legacy, including, like you say, mismanaging the CB position all those years.  It was the culmination of all that fail rolled into one highly visible first round TT moment.

Water under the bridge at this point, and I'm sure King would like to stop hearing about it, but unless and until he can string together some productive games, it's not likely he will.  It's part of the drama and price you pay for being a high draft pick.

Bottom line: King has got to stay on the field this year and earn his salary, that's all there is to it.  Only he can unlink his name from that other player at this point.

6th round Ka'Dar Holman is already catching the eye of Mike Pettine. Yes, nothing will be known until pads come on, but I would not be surprised if he gives King a run for his money. Holman just works his ass off from everyone who's been around him and he just keeps proving doubters wrong. He had an impressive OTA and mini-camp but we'll see what he looks like with pads on.

As for Perry, it's pretty damning considering he's a pass rusher and can't get a sniff anywhere. My guess would be he doesn't land on a roster unless a team gets decimated at OLB with injuries. Hope he saved that $$$

I am kind of surprised that even with Glass Joe Perry's injury history I would have thought that someone would have signed him by now.  Perhaps in NFL circles they know that he is not only injury prone but soft and isn't worth the investment?

Who is deals with pain more than an NFL player?  Who trains and rehabs harder than an NFL player?   These are elite athletes that can do incredible things. Let’s also not forget the physicality involved in what they do.

To me, the mental toughness is what separates some from others.  Pain tolerance.

But you don’t fake some of these injuries.  If King has a serious hamstring injury (especially a torn hamstring) he could miss months.   And like any injury, the body never quite heals the same meaning you are probably more susceptible to repeat or future injuries.

The bottom line is TT gambled on King (and Biegel for that matter) and lost badly. But TT isn’t the first nor the last GM to make those type of mistakes.   History will show TT was a brilliant GM but he’s not infallible.  Neither was Ron Wolf.

My only disappointment was we could have had TJ Watt instead.  Maybe one player wouldn’t have made a difference but look at all the moves that happened after that.  Would they have handled Nick Perry and CMIII the same?  Would they have drafted differently the last 2 years?  Free agents.  It’s a domino effect.

I'm glad that worked out so well for da queens! Most every Packer fan guessed the outcome of da queens' "having all the pieces" plan in place. Love that INT to give NO the ball and the momentum to win the NFCCG! Another queens' season ending without a ring and all because #4 threw that INT and also because the vikings suck!

It was great to see Favre choke away another season for a team other than GB for a change. I know he was a great player, but he had some awful good teams in that run and I think he cost us more championships that he won for us. I don't miss him and the drama and constant interceptions.
