Bush broke his fibula in Week 2, returned Week 12. So, he missed 8 games + bye week. That sounds about right for Cobb's timetable, since most said 4 weeks is best case, with 8 weeks being the longest

Reggie didn't play for the Packers though.  In Green Bay, the actual number of games missed due to injury = the expected number of games missed due to injury X4..

Keith Jackson, one of the NFL's top tight ends, was traded yesterday by the Miami Dolphins to the Green Bay Packers for a second-round choice in April's draft.

As part of the trade, the Dolphins returned to Green Bay a fourth-round draft pick acquired in the March 21 deal that sent Miami receiver Mark Ingram to the Packers.

He was 30 when he came to Green Bay, and in the last year of his current contract. I couldn't find what the contract terms were once he signed with the Packers, but I expect it would've been modest. My point is, I don't know that he was necessarily a "stopgap", but I don't think the team had ideas of him playing another 4 years or more when they did sign him.

The Green Bay Packers are trying out former Cleveland Browns linebacker Justin Staples and former University of Maryland linebacker Demetrius Hartsfield today, according to league sources.

The Packers are dealing with injuries at linebacker, including Brad Jones (hamstring), Clay Matthews (broken thumb) and Nick Perry (broken foot).

Hartsfield is a former All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection for the Terrapins.

Hartsfield has fully recovered from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered last November.

Staples is a 6-foot-4, 245-pounder from Illinois.

I don't care what any of you say, but this seems to happen every year under Thompson and McCarthy.

Do they not watch TV?  If they did they would know that Wheaties is the breakfast of champions.  Our guys should eat it for breakfast every day.

Also, Dannon yogurt helps you poop, so for regular bowel movements, everyone should be eating that, like it or not.

There's lots of medications that can help our guys.  All they have to do is educate themselves by watching TV.  Cialis seems to be quite popular too, although they should call their doctor if they have an erection lasting more than 4 hours.  Man, that would be tough if you were wearing a cup!

He brought in two WRs that season. Don Beebe essentially saved the season; Andre Rison made the playoffs.

People think Superbowl and Rison, but without Beebe's season, Rison would have been on a couch during that Superbowl.

I remember when living in Minny reading or hearing Bud Grant saying something like this.......all players get hurt sometime but there are some players that are hurt all the time and miss multiple games every yr.  The trick is to determine who these guys are. Even if these injured guys are among the best players on the team what good are they if they are not on the field?

Why are the same guys hurt every yr?   Genes, bad luck, techniques, stretching or lack thereof?  In this new NFL do players milk it hoping for the next big contract?  Do the league mandated safety procedures play a role?

This is a league wide prob, not just in GB.

MM: Ryan Taylor surgery today. "couple weeks"

MM: Mike Neal. "Bruised shoulder".

MM: It's something that kept Neal out of practice today. Don't think he'll be available tomorrow

MM: James Jones. Very positive where he is. Friday will be the day.

MM: Brad Jones is getting better. They feel he made a step. I would say Hayward is ready to go. Had a chance to watch him during 7-on-7
