Nick Perry is "a couple weeks." Better than I thought it would be for a broken foot.
"Couple Weeks".
If Mike McCarthy was a contractor instead of a football coach...
Walter: When I do get the permits, how long will the job take?
Mike: Two weeks.
Walter: Two weeks? Two weeks?
Mike: You sound like a parakeet there. "Two weeks! Two weeks!"
Walter: Well, two weeks. It- it's amazing.
Mike: Amazing nothing. It'll be a regular miracle.
Two weeks
This is unbelievable.
Sat out practice last Wed. Don't know if it's related. RT @ScottPetrak: #Browns discovered torn ACL w/WR Charles Johnson during iphysical.
What's Brad Jones status? Probably on here somewhere but didn't see it.
Day-to-death.
It's long past time they figure out a way to expand the rosters. The players don't want it because it cuts into their share of the revenue pie. The owners don't want it because it means more benefits, but the game badly needs it. Realistically each team could use ten more spots.
This is unbelievable.

Wow, short run for this guy.
Whether it's the Packers, the Browns, Charles Johnson or his agent, something seems off about this situation. I don't know if Johnson got played for information or if he played Cleveland for a paycheck or if his agent sold him out for a favor, but I think there's a bit more to this story than we'll ever find out.
Grand Valley State receiver Charles Johnson picked up by Cleveland Browns
By Peter J. Wallner on 10/12/13
Former Grand Valley State receiver Charles Johnson was picked up Saturday by the Cleveland Browns.
āI had worked out with them and it had gone really well, but you never know how things will work out,ā Johnson said Saturday afternoon. āI thought it was going really well in Green Bay, but my agent had told me about this opportunity, so now Iām with the Browns.ā continue
Seems to me the Packers would have the least to gain by hiding an injury and using a practice squad spot on a guy who was useless. If he was hurt and the Packers' medical staff missed it I'd be pretty concerned (unless they thought he could heal up without surgery and they'd have him as an option towards the end of the year.) But then there's this:
Ask Vic

Don from Waukesha, WI
Postdraft, OTAs, mini camps, training camp, preseason, all you heard was what a tremendous receiver Charles Johnson was; big, strong, speed to burn. With the need now for receivers, we let him go to the Browns for nothing. Were we sold a bag of goods or was Ted Thompson fleeced?
I donāt know what you mean by fleeced. First of all, all practice-squad players are free agents. You own no rights to any of them. Secondly, Johnson missed all of OTAs, nearly all of training camp and played sparingly in two preseason games and caught no passes. I canāt remember writing anything more about him than he was still not practicing due to a hamstring injury. The practice squad was the only way to see more of him. This mightāve been his big chance. These things happen.
It's hard not to wonder if the reason the Packers have so many hamstring injuries is because they really don't have so many hamstring injuries and it's a catch all excuse they use for any lower body injury. I understand them not wanting to talk about injuries and I can really understand them not wanting to talk about injuries if they're trying to hide what's really injured.
Browns find that WR Charles Johnson has a torn ACL
By Tom Silverstein of the Journal SentinelOct. 16, 2013 3:46 p.m.
One possibility that exists is that the right knee injury Johnson suffered on the second day of training camp was worse than anyone imagined. At first there was a thought that it was an IT band tear, but later Johnson said he had sprained his MCL.
It's very likely the Packers did an MRI on his knee, but it's possible they didn't see the tear.
Former tackle Mark Tauscher went into surgery once to clean up his knee and the doctors discovered he had partially torn the ACL. He was lost for the rest of the season.
As of right now, the Browns still hold the rights to Johnson. If Johnson can prove that his injury happened while with the Packers it would raise an interesting question about whether he should receive an injury settlement or revert back to the Packers' roster. It's possible the Browns aren't going to keep him around since his injury didn't occur with them and they aren't responsible for paying for his rehab or his salary. -jsonline
Whole thing seems strange.
/rampant speculation
I wouldn't mind seeing him come back to GB and be stashed on IR, provided this was an honest mistake and not a cover-up on his or his agent's part. But, the whole thing is awfully weird in today's NFL and considering the technology for injuries these days.
Bruised Shoulder for Neal. Probably won't practice tomorrow
At least the vagina seems to be holding up so far.
Good news.
Yesterday in Vic Ketchman's blog, he said Bakhtiari was the most impressive rookie LT he has covered since Tony Bosellli. Where do they put Sherrod when he's ready to contribute?
Having not played for 2 years I can't see Sherrod being anything more than a back-up this year unless he overtakes Barclay @RT.
That's what I'm thinking H5. RT. He played in a spread offense at Miss St, and a lot of people projected him as a better fit at RT than LT based on him not doing a lot of pass protection.
Would love to see if a 6'5" 320 guy that moves really well can step in and take over RT permanently.

Vic is huffing paint.
Keep in mind, the Vic comment is the best rookie LT he has covered, not the best LT he has ever seen
Vic only covered the Stealers, Jags and Packers so far, so the list of OTs and the comment aren't as over-the-top as it may seem.
He may also be huffing paint, I saw him with both Green and Gold cans in his car recently
That's a major stretch. He's been very good, far exceeded my expectations, but his game still needs polish. He really reminds me of Chad Clifton when he took over as a rookie.
EDIT: Satanori's point is well taken. That is what he said and is probably the truth.
Nick Perry is "a couple weeks." Better than I thought it would be for a broken foot.
Same here. Although I'm no Dr Bob, nor have I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express ever, I'd venture to speculate it's a small hairline crack that would heal fast. This considering he was able to play some , like five snaps, after first leaving the game and stating it was more preventative for not playing more.
Neal and James Jones not practicing today. Long shot's to play Sunday.
Mulumba and Palmer. No pressure. Play well. But more importantly don't get hurt... you're the last two OLB's on the roster. I suppose Lattimore could fill in as an emergency OLB and Barrington moves to the middle.
Put The Natural at OLB...
On Nick Perry being "a couple of weeks":
if true, that's pretty amazing.
Good lord, Mulumba and Palmer are our starting OLB's? Can't believe injuries have forced them to start a 6th round rookie and an undrafted rookie at arguably the most important position to a 3-4 defense. Raji, Jolly, D Jones and Daniels better step up their pass rush on Sunday.
What players have actually participated in a regular season game for the Packers during under MM when they did not practice during the week and were a "game time decision"? Besides the staged Brett dramas.
James Jones and Mike Neal officially listed as Questionable... that's the 50/50 status, right?
On a normal team, yes.
Right, it is Questionable they will play again this year.
All the doom and gloom.
They can have both Neal and James Jones active on Sunday because there aren't any other options. Its likely neither will play, but given the decimated nature of the roster, they won't be stealing a spot from any healthy guys
I'm beginning to think a week 4 bye wasn't such a good thing after all.
I would imagine both suit up, and whether or not they play is dictated by the game. If the Packers experience more injuries at LB in a tight game, maybe Neal plays a bit. Same for Jones. Otherwise, I think the Packers play who's healthy only.
Maybe time for some two way players. Maybe Kuhn or some of the many TE's we have as backup LB's maybe. Maybe some DB's playing WR.
Or, maybe not.
Rodgers usually plays DB on some of the scout team snaps.
ILB during the practices I've attended.
Put The Natural at OLB...
Love it! Just so I can tell my grandkids about the Packer LB that returned punts. That's old school.
