Rocked: Win!

Rocked: Aaron Rodgers gives the Packers a decisive advantage in almost every game.

Rocked: Pass rush beat Smith hard all night. Turnovers were nice too.

Sucked: Ty Montgomery was a penalty machine early.

Sucked: Injuries, injuries and more injuries, ugh!

Sucked: Wasting timeouts so they couldn't challenge the bad spot. They would have had the ball back on downs, but instead the Chiefs scored again against the prevent.

Rocked: But they failed the conversion and the two-point conversion, so made that moot for the outcome.

Really, the defense played a lot better than I expected for the most part.  Just another one of those damn lapses late in the game.  But 2 of the KC scores really came off of 2 key plays:  the 4th and 5 GB didn't convert, and the obvious bad spot that GB couldn't challenge.

I just can't figure out how they go from being so focused and intense and tight to completely leaving WRs and the middle wide open.  And not focusing on 3rd and long better.  It's like a Jeckyll and Hyde with them.  When they are on, they are really good, but when they are off, they look really really bad.

Win a game I had penciled as iffy before the season

Excellent performance by the offense an all sides

Rodgers

Cobb

James Jones

Offensive line. They allowed a few hits on Rodgers, but they did their job against a good group

-

Defense looked great for 3 quarters, **** the bed in a big way at the end against a terrible offense.

Damarious Randall (really needs to get better, horrible game by the rookie)

Horrible management of the timeouts by McCarthy

All in all, a decent game. Good offenses will really make this defense pay if they play like that going forward, however. The Alex Smiths, Teddy Bridgewaters and Matthew Staffords? No problem at this point. The Tom Bradys? Not so much.

Pros:

Entire D in first half.

Entire O, minus tackles, in first half.

rookie contributions.

Negs;

Thomas had me excited until he got trucked by Charles and missed a couple more.

D had to burn a lot of gas to end it.  Would have been nice to get rest.

Call against HaHa.

6 OLinemen package couldn't gain anything on the ground.

starting to think Janis is mentally challenged.

They played a great game tonight. Loved the way the d-line played; loved how smart the offensive calls were.

But yes, these burning of TO's is driving me crazy. Totally unnecessary last week, and again this week. They burned one on a punt!! Just take the five yard penalty there. They blew the chance to challenge an obvious bad spot and essentially end the game.

Night has a touch of sour despite the win, due to the Ha Ha flag. Got in big debate with a buddy about it. He stuck to the rulebook, "that's how they're calling it now". I still don't see how it's an infraction at all.

I was told you can't go high to head/neck area. I saw the shoulder contact the chest/shoulder of the receiver.

I'd argue that in that case any guy catching a ball on the run could be considered "defenseless". Let's handcuff defenders even more.

The call just seemed to put a damper on what is a very good win at home. Even took the Lambeau faithful out of game for a while.

That's a fair explanation. I did only see one replay. Just didn't sit well with me. Seemed more as if the officials felt they had to react to the big hit aspect, much the same as they do when reacting to player complaints or crowd reaction regarding a PI call. In my estimation officials are far more swayed by such things than they have ever been. But I accept your explanation. The win will help it go away.

Rocked: first half about as good as it gets vs team I expected to keep it close.

Sucked: watching breakdowns in all phases of the game allowing the Chefs back in the game.

Can't complain too much, Rodgers on fire,  solid run D + 7 sacks, JV got reps. too.

38-28, another 10 point win and 3-0.

Next up: Fortywhiners...

WR Davante Adams, who has been declared out, reaggravated his high-ankle sprain, source said. He's expected to miss some time.

He came into the game with a high-ankle sprain? Why was he even playing to begin with. Should miss multiple weeks with that injury after re-aggravating it

Asked this in the game thread, why was he even activated.

****ing prevent.

Bak better get a brace on that knee if he doesn't already.  He's getting schooled too much.

you guys say the D allowed the chefs back in the game.  I didn't see the chefs get back in the game - closest they got was 10 points with less than 2 minutes to go.  they burned clock for us.  it wasn't pretty as it could be but the outcome was never in doubt to me.

would I prefer to throttle teams till the end?  yes, but this team has operated like this for a long time with a big lead.  I don't like it but I'm realist enough to expect it.
