Charles stepped around Thomas as Thomas was laying on his back with a KAN OL on top of him. He was not trucked by Charles.

We won a SB with Chillar. In 8 games, with just 1 start, he had 13 tackles, 3 assists, 1 PD, 1 INT and 1 sack. It is funny, but some of these younger drafted players and UDFAs are showing to be that much better than a vet who lost his wheels, and another who never got it. Speed kills.

That is probably the most remarkable part of our improvement on D is the team speed, along with the best DL play we have seen since 2010. That helps the backers immensely as well. Add a pretty good group of DBs who are young, and we look set for years there. Glad to finally see it all on the field at once for the Packers.

Thomas is 6'1" and 227 pounds. He's undersized for an ILB. He's probably giving up 100+ pounds to the lineman that is trucking him. He's there for his speed and pass coverage ability. At least he's in the right spot to make a play and Thomas has to avoid him. AJ Hawk would have been pushed 5 yards deep into the end zone and Thomas would have walked in without to avoid him.

Dear Michigan Packer -

You seem to be a very bright fellow around here and I'll offer you some insight that I learned the hard way

Never argue with Brain Ded posters

The best you can hope for is re-proving what we already know about him

H5, I'm impressed with the lengths you are willing to go to defend a wrong assertion.  First it was either bad angle or he wasnt on the field.  Then it was he stepped around him while he is on the ground accompanied with FOX news style screenshot.

He missed the tackle both times, it's so obvious it shouldn't even be debated. Go watch the video again.

Not sure I would use the word "trucked", but Thomas missed the tackle on both TD runs and the coaching staff agrees:

Strong debut: Scott McCurley, the assistant linebackers coach, liked what he saw from Thomas in his 38-snap debut against the Chiefs.

"He can do some things in space," said McCurley. "He's got some twitch to go get the ball."

Thomas, 6 feet ½ inch and 227 pounds, failed to bring down Jamaal Charles twice on touchdown runs.

"He's got to make those plays, and he knows that," McCurley said. "I think he did a great job making it to some of those plays. It comes down to finishing. He's capable. Now he is a lighter guy, so he's got to use his instincts to his advantage."

Michigan Joe summed it up nicely.

He was in position to make the play, just didn't finish.

That's Jamaal Charles not Barty Smith.

Making that tackle in that situation would've been a pro-bowl type play.  Not someone thrown to the wolves after bagging groceries at 7-11 a week prior.

Give Thomas a chance.  It's a tough position.

Man I miss  Desmond Bishop circa 2010

Yeah pretty much what I said a page ago.

Another thing on the second clip. Thomas was put in a bad spot scheme wise, and Gruden even mentioned it. Capers had the center uncovered and both tackles wide in 3+ tech,  easy trap play for the KC O-line  and the only chance was Hyde who was easily blocked and Thomas who didn't get off his block.
