Nine yards later.

Not really. Its really really hard to play at a hyped- up Elite level and keep that mental edge when its 31-7 in the 3rd Q. The team with the 7 pts also starts playing loose because they have nothing to lose anymore...

Scroll down to the Win Probability Chart in this link below and you'll see a graphic representation of the "KC surge"

Also noted: the same thing happened to the Pats vs Buffalo.

Bills scored 19 points in the 4th quarter of a blowout

And the Pats have the best coach ever in the history of all universes

Maybe he should start using it on the field.

Care to be more specific, or are you just blinding making generalities?

I honestly believe we weren't ready to take that next step. We were close, but hell, we started the season with Brad Jones and AJ Hawk in the middle of our D. What were they thinking? We lost important games early as a result, costing us dearly in HFA. Had that game been in GB, things might have been different. Still, even McCarthy was forced to see he wasn't overseeing his team as well as he should have been. Play calling gaffes. STs gaffes. Defensive gaffes. Championship teams don't do that with the kind of frequency we had last season.

That is what I like about this year. The team looks pretty focused, top to bottom. The coaching staff has made some great adjustments, and the players are looking pretty good. They look ready to win it all. Jacked.

It was the media that beat it into submission for a week.

Having a tough day? Try a snickers.

Yeah, and they were goobers, so why repeat that nonsense? It was made up talking point garbage for people lacking logic skills.

When the lot of 'em go Skip Bayless-level dum, don't repeat the nonsense.

I am glad the chefs are no longer unbeaten at Lambeau.

It was the most important thing in that game because I knew Hersch would let it bother him that it wasn't the appropriate meme for such a special game.  This thread just brings further joy and laughter every time it pisses Hersch off.  and I have more BS I can spread if that's not enough.  Have a great day with your trivial annoyances everyone.

Anyone think it was odd that Joe Thomas, who didn't make the 53, got on the field  before Jake Ryan who is a draft pick AND made the 53? Was it just the fact that Thomas has been here a couple years now or just situational and Thomas was a better fit for those packages? Or is there something holding Ryan back mentally? Not bagging on Ryan at all, I just thought it was odd he didn't get any playing time at all (other than STs) in a blowout win.

Jon Gruden would have thought it was odd.  On MNF he kept saying how willing McCarthy was to play rookies.

Everyone else is like, "yeah right."  He plays them only if he is desperate.

Glad it worked out to get Thomas back...almost a Jumanji Rolle redux.

Will be interesting to see if the league gives any explanation on the HHCD hit. Guessing no fine. HaHa didn't use his helmet, or go to the head, just happened to drill a  receiver  that wasn't  able to see it coming. From experience, I also think refs sometimes react to the sound that a high-speed collision brings and feel like they need to respond....with flag. Personally I love that sound !

Don't think it's much of a shock that Thomas played over Ryan.  It's pretty common for Player A to better right now than Player B, knowing that Player B has better long term potential and thus is kept while Player A, while better right now, is cut.  Look at Miles White and Jeff Janis - White would definitely see the field before Janis but Janis clearly has more long-term potential.  IMO, it's the same with Thomas and Ryan.

I just said he's fast; which is great for pass defense and on special teams.

Stuffing the run on the goalline typically requires a different skill set than what a 227 lb dude brings to the table.

Read more here about the move and why they did it below

...But early in the fourth quarter, with the Packers leading by 24, defensive coordinator Dom Capers unveiled another, less-publicized wrinkle involving Thomas and Matthews.

He deployed Thomas as an inside linebacker in the standard nickel defense, pairing him at first with Jake Ryan and later Nate Palmer. It enabled Matthews to return to a position he dominated for the first five-and-half seasons of his career.

For six straight plays Matthews lined up as a true outside linebacker in the nickel defense, adding yet another sliver to his 2015 alignment pie.

"(Joe Thomas) allows our best pass rushers to get out there and get after the quarterback," Matthews said. "I'd like to think that's why we had a number of sacks this past week."

I think you need to watch again, or I provided bad links.  On TD3 titled "Jamal Charles Scores Third TD"  he gets trucked by Charles on the 4 yard line.

On TD2 titled "Jamal Charles Punches in His 2nd" he meets Charles in the hole and misses.

Thomas did some very good work on Monday night.  That tackle on Charles in the open field saved a game breaker. But that was also him missing on both of Charles TD runs.

McGinn on Thomas' night against KC:

Thomas' debut was so-so. He played 38 snaps, made an outstanding tackle of Charles to hold him to 3 late in the half, and cleaned up a flush by Julius Peppers for a sack. He also missed the tackle on two of Charles' TD runs.
