So many games you just wonder why teams don't just run the ball 50 times. I think it would have worked for the Browns. Not sure if there is some sense of "oh crap, it's Aaron Rodgers" and they feel like they have to pile up points quickly.

I would just run, run and run some more until it stops working.

Most play calls are made dependent with what the defense is showing or has shown in previous games for down / distance.  If the defense is showing one more defender than the offense can block they will audible to a pass play. However, I get your point with Browns....they were able to run vs. our "Bear Front" (3 interior d-lineman / 2 OLBers ), which is our best run defense. Didn't seem like they needed to throw as much as they did, which could have limited their turnovers.

For all the injuries it’s pretty amazing there’s been so little information on some of these guys.  I think Jaire is probably the closest to return given he’s practicing.   Bak will stay on the shelf as long as Yosh Nijman is playing OK.  Turner and Cobb will come probably back whenever they are ready IMO.

I’ve heard nothing recently on Josh Myers or Z Smith.  Usually, no news is good news but Z in particular is troubling.   Given how his contract restructure likely opened the door for the Packers to release him it’s possible he’s pouting.  Seems very odd that a guy with back injury has been seen around the team yet can’t seem to get on the field.

I'm not at all nervous about the last two games.  Both are inferior opponents, the Lions have won only 2 games, the Vikings only 7.  Out of the two, the next against the Vikings will be the toughest.  But, they play out of their minds at MN vs. the Packers, and just so-so in Lambeau.

I hope AZ beats Dallas, but I don't see it.  The tough game for Dallas will be in Philly with the upstart Eagles.  I think they lose that one.  Unfortunately for us, we'll already be playing the Lions at the same time, so unless the Dallas game gets flexed, we'll have to play to win in Detroit.

The main concern I have is fatigue.  That's great the second and third stringers are playing tough, but our depth is shot.  They just need to win the next two games and not leave it to fate, which I think they will.  Like others have said, that means run the football a LOT to give this defense a breather.

@RobDemovsky: Some injury updates from LaFleur

Aaron Jones: Should be OK.  Yep, already playing great

David Bakhtiari: Still discussing practice this week.  Nope, done.

Josh Myers: A 'chance' he comes off IR.  Nope, done.

Billy Turner: Still 'working thru' things with his knee.  Mostly likely done, bullshit coach speech

J. Alexander: 'We'll see Wednesday. Nope, done.  More coach gum flapping.

interesting read from Mike Zimmers Sugar Baby wiki page. Head Trainer and Protective facilitator. Interesting....

Katarina is a wellness devotee, world explorer, against tormenting promoter, and sweetheart of Mike. Moreover, the bits of gossip about their dating have been around beginning around 2020, however as of late their relationship got affirmed.

Mike is the lead trainer of the National Football League group, Minnesota Vikings. Already he was the protective facilitator for Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons, and Cincinnati Bengals

And how did Damrious Randall warrant a first round pick? It’s far from an exact science.

Players that will excel regardless of where they land are rare. A big factor in success is how those players fit in your scheme, with your coaches, etc.

I guess Rasul finally landed in the right spot.

Having watched Rasul often when he was an Eagle, the bad  habits from the college level ( grabby like Ahmad Carrol grabby) and lack of foot speed ended his time in Phila- when GB signed him from the Cards I wasn't impressed but he has significantly improved in that area and his awareness seems higher- as many have said a great situation and a sympatico coach seem to have really improved him.

Like many have pointed out the draft is a crapshoot but certain scouts have an  eye or a predilection for certain types of players, for years GB picked Pro-bowl WR's in round two and interior OL  in round 3 or4.  That is a skill and it was noticeable as the brain drain occurred that this didn't happen so often. The addition of the guy from Baltimore seems to have fixed the OL pipeline again (Jenkins, Runyan, Newman and Meyer are all looking like long term starters and none picked in rd 1 and light years better than the last player a high draft pick was expended on,  Now I also give kudos to Stevanivich but as Campen used to say you can't make chicken salad from Chicken poop!

Fatigue and playing in the cold are a double whammy, especially with how much the D has been on the field. The offense has to string together a series of long drives throughout a game, not just a couple of times. Top that off with guys who are not used to playing as many snaps as they have, and this is a tired, tired team.

It's tough to know how MN will play this weekend: on one hand, this is their Super Bowl; on the other hand, that team looks like it wanted to get rid of Zimmer five games ago. Their effort against LA was awful. (The head coach in the pregame team huddle trying to hype up his players? Bad look.) LA looked slow and tired, but MN just looked disinterested.

Vikings are only 1 behind the #7 spot. So you’d better believe they will pull out all the stops, even if they weren’t playing the Pack, which always brings out their best efforts. I’m very nervous about stopping Dalvin Cook. And I sure as hell don’t want to face Dalvin Cook in the playoffs!

The Packers need to start showing that they have the heart of a champion and do it fast. They need to put teams away and dominate. They need to start fast. They need to stop the run, especially on the edge. And they need to not shoot themselves in the damned foot with not-so-special teams!

As Kevin Green once said, IT IS TIME!

The only advantage DallAss has on the Packers right now is conference record.
They have only 1 loss, we have 2. Remaining games for both teams are conference tilts. We have the 1 game advantage on overall record, of course.
FWIW, the Rams have 3 (with 1 to play), the Bucs (1) and Cards have 4 (2).
So final seeding may not happen until last game of last week of this season.

Also FWIW, DallAss likely has the toughest schedule remaining, AZ at home, at Philly. They could lose either or both of those.
The Bucs have the Jets on the road, and the Panthers at home. Their home game is the only one that may be tough, but they will likely win out.
The Rams have the Ravens on the road, then SF at home. Same as DallAss; they could win both or lose both, but I'd hope for 1 out of 2, especially vs SF.
The Cards have the Cowboys game, then Seattle at home. I sure hope they show up for this week's game.

My NFC playoff prediction, winners in bold:

1 Dallas(13-4)

2 Green Bay (13-4) vs 7 Philly (9-8)
3 LA Rams (13-4) vs 6 Vikings (9-8)
4 Tampa (13-4) vs  5 Cardinals (11-6)

1 Dallas vs 4 Tampa
2 Green Bay vs 3 Rams

1 Dallas vs 2 Green Bay

Trying to figure out why everyone is giving a thumbs down to the Packers winning the NFC?

You gotta work on that fan club.

Looks like this will be a single digit temp game. High on Sunday is 15 and this is a night game.

It may be around 5Β° at kickoff, with a wind chill of -9Β° and holds fairly steady through 11 PM. Based on wind chill calculations, I'm guessing wind speed will be 10-15 mph.

I've been waiting to get these dome pukes out in the cold weather, and it will be here Sunday!

Seeding is so important. Never mind the bye at the moment. If all the favorites win the first round it would be 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3 in the 2nd round. If he season ended today it would mean the Packers play AZ at home and Dimple Boy has to play at DallAss in a slugfest. Flip # 1 and DallAss has almost a gimmie their first game whilst the packers get Tampax. The only consolation is the fact if the Packers manage to dispose of Brady, Rodgers owns Jerry World

So it sounds like a Packer win this week AND a Dallas loss would give GB the number 1 seed.

From Matt Schneidman:

The simplest way for the Packers to clinch home-field advantage and the No. 1 seed is for the Cowboys to lose one of their final two games. That way the Packers need to win just one of their final two, which come against the Vikings at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football and at the Lions in Week 18.
