If "Smarter than Skip Bayless" is your measuring stick, then it is not hard to be the tallest midget.
I knew Johnny football wouldn't make it. It isn't brain science.

That is really sad.
Bigger payroll too.
Word is the Browns have terminated the consulting contract of the homeless guy.
Johnny has huge hands.
I suspect he will have a huge liver in the future.
from pft:
The perception that the coaches didn’t want Manziel may have come from the reality that he wasn’t suited to being an NFL quarterback. A former Browns coach tells Kaplan that, once Manziel became the starter, “he had no idea what was going on. He went out there and had no clue.”
As a rookie working with joystick-twisting offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, the offense was stripped down for Manziel to something so simple that “you or I could have lined up under center,” the unnamed coach said.
When the situation dragged on in 2015, some teammates began to cool on Manziel, a source told PFT. His declaration on a cool Cleveland afternoon, as reported by Kaplan, that “I bet it’s nice in Dallas right now” rubbed some teammates and others in the building the wrong way.
At times in 2015, it seemed that Manziel wanted out of Cleveland so that he could land with the Cowboys. But the Cowboys won’t even consider him until he gets his life in order. With no one else wanting Manziel either, that could be the thing he needs.
“If Johnny doesn’t have a carrot dangling in front of him, he resorts to his default,” a friend of Manziel’s told Kaplan. “And his default is not giving a sh-t.”

gawd...
Manziel could always go thru MM QB School. Oh wait, that means GB would have to sign him first. I would sign him as a towel boy while trying to develop his QB play. He would not count against the 53 man roster. If he shows any progress, then maybe QB has a future as a backup QB or trade bait. If not, cut the towel boy – they are expendable anyway – just ask the Patriots. Would help if he gave a **** first. And if he complains about the weather, just tell him “GB develops HOF QBs. If you want to be one there is a price to pay.”

Manziel coming to Wisconsin would certainly help with his drinking problem
Wouldn't help him because he would fail at that too. There is no way he could keep up.
Manziel is going to have a 30 for 30 special in about 15 years where he is sobbing about the chances he blew in the NFL.
he will fade to gray now and we'll never even think of him in 15 years, and rightfully so - he's done nothing worthy of retrospect.
It's not the blown chances he'll be agonizing over if he ultimately ends up in prison.
Manziel is a shorter, less talented version of Vince Young. Young had the physical ability to play QB, just not the intelligence (he also partied a little too much). Manziel is smart enough to play QB if he applied himself, but at his size it was always going to be a longshot for him to succeed. Russell Wilson and Drew Brees are similar in size (or smaller) than Manziel, but they probably both spend more film study/prep time in an average week than Manziel did in a year.
Manziel is more likely to end up dead than he is being back in the NFL.
A guy at work told me today that Manziel is changing his name from "Johnny" to Jonathan". Said he heard it on the radio. I think someone forgot to tell it to the internet. Has anyone heard of this?
PS: If true he is probably doing it so he can get a job at the "Golden Arches Supper Club". Maybe flipping burgers will go better than flipping footballs.
if true, what a pathetic way to say "please take me seriously". all I know on this front is that his spokeswoman referred to him as Jonathan in the press release last week.
Not sure if he said this or not, but his given name is already Jonathan. IIRC he was tagged with the nickname Johnny Football during his HS playing days by some Texas recruiting service.
Johnathon Football wasn't available?
I now dislike Johnny football just a little less.
CFL Saskatchewan denies 'illegal' workout with Johnny Manziel, could sue
The free agent quarterback allegedly worked out in January for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, according to the Hamilton Spectator's partner website, 3DownNation. The alleged workout took place in Florida prior to the Senior Bowl.
But Roughriders general manager Chris Jones denies the event occurred and said the team is now considering "legal action" against the website that made the report, according to Gary Lawless.
Yup - deny everything. That has become the American way. So it was - if it happened - against CFL rules. Manziel probably didn't know it was against CFL rules - if it happened. This is on the CFL team involved - assuming it happened. And BTW, I think the "Roughriders" and Manziel (given his past history) would make a good pair - I'd have a 'rough' time making this up.
More from the "Factory of Sadness". This is the Browns version of the Viking video.

Wait.
Even in Canada?
Why not? He comes from America. Got to teach the Canadians sometime.
Did you look at the video?
The Factory of Sadness could become the Death Trap of Sadness.
Summary: the same type of cladding on the outside of Grenfell Towers, the London high-rise aparment building that burned and killed dozens, was used on Cleveland's stadium.
(And yes, I know the Vikings' stadium is the Death Trap of Sadness for birds.)

Canadians, Canadiens...
Frogs and Brits, what could go wrong?
Don’t think the bad boy of the CFL is going to making it back to the NFL anytime soon......
Mike Sherman & a total cluster:
Is it OK to feel bad for Mike Sherman?
For him, yes, for Squirrel Pee, no.
How can you feel bad for Squirrel Pee? Haven't seen her around here in a good long time!
Only in conjunction with Sherman, since she was a defender long after it was clear he needed to go.
people don't do that on X4
Best memories of the Sherman era was A. Green.
And standing up to Warren Sapp after his cheap shot on Clifton.

Screwed up again
Yep he sure did and got kicked out of the CFL. Now he says he exploring opportuinities in the U.S.
