If the Packers can’t get at least mediocre QB play while Love is out it’s possible they don’t win a game.

You look at their opponents up until the bye week and outside of Arizona and Minnesota there aren’t any games that stand out as easier games.

if Love is out 6 weeks it’s entirely possible this team goes 0-7.  If that happens this season is cooked.

RMan posted this in the other thread too

A grade 1 MCL sprain recovery time is typically anywhere from 1 week to 3 weeks.

Grade 2 MCL is 1 month to 6 months depending on factors.

Grade 3 MCL is 3-6 months

You can probably double those recovery times because of the notoriously conservative Packers training staff.

You are by far the most negative person I've never met.

I’d be surprised if GB won a single game if the options are Willis, Clifford or Pratt.

Can't be Pratt, as he's on Tampa Bays PS, unless they sign him to the active roster, which I highly doubt.

But they will need to sign another QB to the PS, providing they activate Clifford.

I'm going to LOVE looking at these horrible Twitter takes later.....

i'm no expert but I don't think Clifford would have taken that sack. You put a guy out there who's been here for 2 weeks instead of somebody who knows the system and the receivers.

This why it makes no sense for a team with SB potential that has a QB locked up for years to have developmental players behind him.   Get a fucking insurance policy behind him, not a pet project.

Piss poor roster building by Gute.

Favre had an MCL injury (I think in a Redskins game - hit by Arrington who threw him to the ground) but the next week was a bye-week, and he didn't miss a game.

Let's be honest. It's because Favre suffered the MCL injury concurrent with another concussion. The guy couldn't feel a thing for weeks.

I deal in reality.  If Willis is our starting QB you think this team wins a game?   There’s a reason he was available.  He stinks.

You couple that with what currently looks like an average OL and an overhyped defense and yeah, Super Bowl baby!

They need a healthy Jordan Love to compete.  It’s that simple.   If he misses 2-3 games there’s still time to rebound.  6 or more weeks?   That’s trouble.  As in this team will have no shot at the playoffs.

He wasn't available. Packers traded for him.

The Eagles have probably one of the top 3 (at worst) OL & DL in the NFL. Did you forget they get paid too? Packers scored 29. They don't suck. Did you see how happy the Eagles were that they won the game? They know they beat one of the top teams in the league. Nobody is marking an easy "W" with Green Bay on the schedule....even with Love hurt

Any NFL team needs their preferred starter to win & go deep in the playoffs. That's reality. Is that what you're dealing in?

If we all agree we can’t win with Malik Willis, why the fuck is he on the roster?    The SB champs signed Carson Wentz to a 1 year insurance policy in case Mahomes missed a decent stretch.   This is how it’s done.

I have hope at this moment we could go .500 with Malik Willis at the helm for like 4 weeks. That said, my hope could easily be extinguished with a poor performance vs the Colts at Lambeau.

My fear with Willis is he’ll do a lot of scrambling and he’ll get hurt before Love gets back.  I believe Willis ran for 800+ yards his final year in college.

We do what we do, which includes 1 SB appearance in 25 seasons of Favre and Rodgers (1998-2022). Mistakes have been made.

The direction the Packers go at QB while Love is out remains to be determined in my opinion. Too many factors/unknowns only 24 hours after the injury.

-I believe the most likely short term fix is to call up Clifford and have both he and Willis prep for Indy. Would not be surprised if Clifford starts and both play.

-Packers should have a much better idea of Love's injury by the start of the week.  And this will most likely dictate what they do personnel-wise in his absence.

-If the outlook is positive and he's only expected to miss 3 weeks (or less), I think they ride it out with Willis and Clifford.

-If the outlook is not good, and Love is anticipated to miss a month or more, I think the Packers look to add a veteran either thru FA or a trade.

-Adding a veteran may not happen right away, assuming Love is out for a month+ IF, and that's a big IF, either Clifford and/or Willis show something against the Colts.

Anyway, I think it's way too premature to really know what the Packers intentions are as I don't think the extent of Love's injury and his recovery timeline are known yet.

The most alarming statistic about Willis, however, is his complete lack of touchdown passes in the NFL. Despite appearing in 12 games and starting three, he has yet to find the end zone through the air. During his three starts in 2022, Willis completed just 50.8% of his passes and threw three interceptions. He finished the season with a 1-2 record as a starter.
