Something not right about this Sitton mess, guess we have to deal with it.  Let the auditions begin:

That is great!  Since he played at Baylor we have our own Waco Kid.  Also, his first name is Blake - TT draft a Blake - might be this years priority name.  Can he play football?

I have been dealing with it for 16 years and I kiss nobodies ass. There ain't **** you can do when the upper management does what they do. You just move on and do your job.

I just shank a bitch in the middle of the office to establish my dominance.   Maybe that's why they don't want me in the office anymore.

That might be what you do. That ain't what I would do.

If I was unhappy I'd be looking for other employment.

It's a job, it ain't prison.

I lived with the female version of Dwight Schrute.  Good looking Puerto Rican woman, Dwight Schrute inside.  It took awhile for her to come to terms with her Schrutiness.

FWIW, it looks like cutting Peppers would have resulted in $2.5M in dead cap hit, with a net saving of $8M. Sitton' dead cap hit is $300k, with net savings at about $6.5M

Even though we know Ted hates dead cap money more than small talk, the team would still end up saving more while losing significantly less on the field by cutting Pep instead. All the more reason to believe there is more to this story than dollars and cents.

Fortunately for me, I work in a big company.  If I am not happy in the program where I am I can request a transfer to a different program.  There is always programs looking for guys like me.  Of course I wouldn't say that I am unhappy - instead I would say a move to a program like (fill in name here) would help my career development.  I have been on the same program now for 13 years, and with the same company for 38 years.  In the last 13 years I have turned down 3 offers from other programs.  I like what I do.

Pass rushers are worth more than Guards though. Position vs. position, I would guess Sitton was costing more.

But they had some cap space, was it $10, to work with already.  So it's not like they were totally handicapped.  So how many, and who, does that $6 let them add in season?

For the love of Spaghetti, please don't tell me Eddie.  That would be a huge gamble.

Right now with the cap change and their active deals in 2017 they will have roughly 18 mil in cap space. With good, healthy seasons Lang and Bakh could each easily command cap hits of 6 mil. Tretter 4, Perry 6. Rookie pool is like 5. Cook could command a cap hit of 6. Things add up pretty quick. Lacy, being a gamble, will likely get a front loaded deal in case he eats himself out of the league. So yeah that 7 mil from Sitton could actually make a huge difference for next year. If we can push even 7 mil of money from 2017 in to this cap we could have a really healthy situation. There are a lot of what-if scenarios where that money is very valuable. If it was no big deal and we didn't need it, I don't think Ted cuts Sitton. It's not a superficial move based on age or hoarding cap dollars.

Thanks, that's the info I was looking for.

See this is partly why I'm not that big a fan.  This trend to put celery, a whole heirloom tomato, a cheeseburger, a rack of lamb, a sausage Crunchwrap®, a lobster thermidor, a poached egg, a beer can chicken, a whole cedar plank smoked salmon, a cubano sandwich, french onion soup, 4 freshly fried donuts, a corn on the cob, and an entire hog primal on a stick and jam it in a glass is just silliness.  Put my food on a plate.  Put my alcohol in a drinking vessel.  If you want a garnish for your Bloody Mary, throw in a single celery stalk and call it a day.

But, ok ok, while I'm not a huge fan, I get that many people are.  So overrated is probably unfair.  My bad.  If you want some tomato juice, something spicy, and some vodka, have at it.  It can be a decent drink every once in a while.  If made well.

So, you're all saying - how do you make it well, smart ass?  Here's the way to be the hero of your next tailgate.

Friday night
Make Horseradish Infused Vodka.  Grate 2 oz of fresh horseradish per 750ml bottle of vodka and let infuse for 24 hours

Saturday night

  • Strain Vodka through cheesecloth and/or sieve and strain back into bottle
  • Make a Premix with the following and put into an empty 750ml bottle.

  • 12 oz lemon juice
  • 12 oz Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 tsp ground black pepper (I like coarsely ground, most people prefer it finely ground.  Your call)
  • 1.5 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tsp Tabasco sauce (or your hot sauce of choice, I'm a huge fan of Dave's Temporary Insanity for something like this)

Sunday morning
Make your Bloody Marys.  Put the following in your Solo Cup filled with ice and stir with straw/celery stalk

  • 1 oz of the Premix (recipe above)
  • 2 oz Horseradish Vodka (recipe above)
  • 4 oz Tomato Juice or Clamato if you like that kinda thing
  • Garnish with a celery stalk and be done with it Julia Child.

Scale up as needed.  I'd plan for 1 750ml bottle of this premix, 2 750ml bottles of horseradish vodka, and 4 750ml bottles of tomato juice per 8 adults for a tailgate, Wisconsinites that own super livers - your mileage may vary.

Sunday Afternoon

  • Watch the Packers beat the living piss out of the Bears
  • Plan bathroom trips
  • Remember who was supposed to be designated driver
  • No matter how much you think it would be cute or that she looked at you and she "Wanted your junk", don't touch the woman's butt walking in front of you as you exit.  You will get a knee to the jewels.
  • Remember to set your alarm - you have to work tomorrow cheesedick.

Chicago? Sounds about right for ex-Packer. On the personal side I bet Sitton had a lot of tickets for friends and family in his hometown of Jacksonville. Anybody need a ticket, ask Josh...

When TT took over, I found one of the things I liked about him was that every contract he gave initially was cut-able.  If a player wasn't performing he was able to be cut.  Smart way to do business in this day and age.  And with 4/5ths of the starting OL in need of being resigned, he probably wasn't going to be able sign them all anyway.  Isn't TJ Lang 30 or 31? He might be next if he doesn't perform this season.

How do we know... that Taylor is the replacement and that the drop from Sitton to whomever is significant?

BrainDed posted:

Plus, we have Perry and Jones.  The drop from Peppers to those two is less significant than Sitton to Taylor.

There has to be more to this.  If it was only finances, Peppers is the guy who goes.   More money saved and less drop off.

Hungry5 posted:

He should send $1 million of that to TT as a tip.
