May actually want to follow the Bears lead on this one and wait a while.

That's amazing that the Bears have the most retired numbers in the league, but they haven't retired a number since Dick Butkus, and Gayle Sayers. WOW!!!!!
I think they retired Walter Payton's number.
Satori mentioned this earlier but it bears repeating...
The league is petrified of Favre's induction into the HOF with a cascade of boos reigning down at the ceremony in Canton. So they enlisted Murphy to bridge the gap with the Packer fans & Favre. Murphy in turn spoke to his face of the franchise & newly crowned highest paid player in the league, Aaron Rodgers, to assist in this endeavor.
Rodgers is loved now & a lesser man wouldn't have taken the high road as Aaron has. I'm hoping the Packers can win at least 1 more Super Bowl before 2015. That will go a long way to helping the league get what they want. A "happy" ceremony in Canton in 2015 & most Packer fans simply being indifferent toward Brett but not caring as much as the Packer fans do right now.

One thing I am not is this guy...
Because it worked out so much better for this one?
He went down fighting for his family. Can't ask for much more.
I don't think the NFL needs to worry about Packer fans showering Brett with boo's at his HOF fame ceremony because I dont think a lot of Packer fans would attend it if nothing changes between now and 2015.
Brett could make all this go away if he acknowledged he behaved like a complete doosh starting around 2002. But he's not going to do that. Because doing that would finally close the book on Brett Favre's NFL career. As long as his relationship with Green Bay is in question, he'll remain in the news and a topic of conversation.
And Brett Favre loves being a topic of conversation.

Exactly! There might be some Favre fans there but probably not too many Packer fans so no worries.

Watch. It'll end up being the same year Jerry Kramer gets inducted.
Then the party is for Kramer...

Put him in the HOF and put his name on the wall along with the other names. Holmy might be there someday too. Retiring a number is another matter. Herber's # isn't retired, nor are most of the HOF players' numbers. He is a much better player than Canadeo, but half the human. So I am always happy to see a Packer make the HOF, but I wouldn't retire his number now.
Put him in the Packer HOF and see if he even shows up and makes nice. That's a polite and sheltered environment. If he does bother to show up, then we can move to maybe retiring his number. If he doesn't, he can marinate in his own juice for a decade or as long as Ditka waited.
The team has only retired four numbers, not 20, so a lot of great players (Forrest Gregg) don't have their numbers retired. Brent can wait.
For me the pressure point is Brent's election to the HOF and his name appearing on the wall. Can't do that without inviting him to the game where it is unveiled. That needs to be handled with some class. I am open to applauding his justified election to the HOF. That does NOT mean equating him with Reggie, Hudson or Bart.

That Godfather cast was good! I like Jennings as Tessio.
Now, I am going to have to think about Tauscher being cast as Brasi tho!

I was at a loss for Luca as well. Tauscher was a reach.
At least we know Brent isn't Sonny.
