We should have known when Winker wasn't released that something like this was in the works. The only thing I can think of is he had good numbers against Kelly and Gallen before he was washed up.

Counsell will never take the bat out of Yelich's hands for a pinch hitter. I'm not saying it's the wrong move, but Counsell will never do it.

I’m wondering if he hasn’t t named Peralta in game 2 because if they win tonight, and then try to steal a win with Miley tomorrow, and failing that, your have Peralta for Thursday. Or best case, game one of the divisional round?

That's what I'm thinking too.   To win this series 2-0 without Peralta would be ideal.  Then he goes in game 1 vs the Dodgers and Burnes goes in game 2.

How do you figure? Burnes/Peralta/ and then either Houser or Miley in game 3. Why the thought on a bullpen game?

I should have said bullpen like game.  If there is a game 3 whoever is pitching for the Crew will have very short leash.  Give up a couple of runs and have a couple of baserunners in the 1st or 2nd and you will be gone IMHO.

The worst part about the Adames AB was that he didn't make the pitcher work. At least make the guy throw as many pitches as possible. In the first game of a series the sooner you get to their bullpen the more worn it gets through the rest of the series. That's why I say he gave away the AB. It's more than just striking out on 3 pitches in the first inning of the opening game.
