I figured he got it patting himself on the back for an amazing career during the bye week.
The shoulder injury thing worked for Rodgers - he got the whole season off. Bennett probably thought if it worked for him, it should work for me.
Well let's give Bennett the time he deserves to get healthy. Looking forward to martellus returning and his loyalty to the team
I love how Bennett has suddenly been misused. I guess they don’t “understand” him or how to use him. That’s why he’s dropped all those drive killing passes.
And you all are too stupid to know what you’re talking about. Anyone who knows football sees how superior he’s been so far...
Or maybe this- anyone who sees his play thus far and wrings their hands at how great he looks is completely football illiterate or stupid. Rodgers’ early feeding him the ball didn’t get any kind of rhythm. He did not become the chains mover he was supposed to be.
Maybe these final games of his career will be a revelation. But then again, the coaches don’t know what they’re doing with him. The coaches, now... the coaches.
Bennett unlikely to play against Detroit. It's a good time to send him home so he can rest.
"Bennett, who didn’t practice all week, is listed as doubtful for Monday night’s game against the Lions.
It’s unclear how the injury happened. The Packers were off in Week Eight, and there was no obvious injury in Week Seven."
Time to draft TE Dalles Goedert of South Dakota State and get someone who; cares, has tools, and will be around for a while.
I'd rather have Fumagalli. Yes, I'm a homer and he is a winner.
Richard Rodgers is a rabbit compared to him.
I just like saying FUMMMAGOLLLYYYYY
I’d like to see GB figure out how to utilize TEs before they go drafting one in the upper rounds. GB hasn’t had a TE get past 800 yards in a season in over a decade. That’s pathetic given the QB they have.

Racist.
I like Fum, think he is almost certainly a day 2 pick. Drops worry me a little, but the size is outstanding. Just needs one more finger
I like this kid:
I do too, but where is he slotting in the draft?
As someone said earlier, why invest a high draft pick on a position of low leverage in McStupidfaces offense? How about a couple high picks on a tackle and a guard?

Most have him 3rd round
I've always have thought Kendricks was a better player than the Ram numbers indicated and glad to see him get some more snaps. Don't see TT spending anything higher than a third on the position.
I wonder how Martellus is feeling today
Refreshed I'm sure. Gotta rehab that shoulder "injury"
Maybe they can IR him or cut him loose with an injury settlement. I'm sure we could use the roster spot for someone else who might actually want to play the entire year...
I'd prefer all 53 guys get "injured" Forfeit this season, end up 4-12 - get a top 5 pick.
While a Top 5 pick doesn't guarantee success, I'll take my chances. NFL FU!
McCarthy on Martellus Bennett: He will not be available this week. He met with medical staff. Still going through the process.
Poor Martellus, that must have been one Hell of an (undisclosed) shoulder injury he suffered in practice last Tuesday.
Apparently, he is consulting leading medical minds around the world to determine if he'll ever be able to set foot on a playing field again.
I have no doubt this dude has quit.
Source: the Packers have cut veteran TE Martellus Bennett. His time in Green Bay is over.

Well, one of my wishes has been granted. Now for a new DC...
Packers cut TE Martellus Bennett, as @FieldYates reported. Cut him with Failure to Disclose Physical Condition designation.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) November 8, 2017
Is apathy a physical condition?
The #Packers paid TE Martellus Bennett $8M of his 3-year, $21M contract. The only tangible benefit to cutting him with the failure to disclose is if they argue his entire contract is void & go after his money. This isn’t over just yet.

I fully expect Ted to by active in FA next year.
So he was damaged goods when GB signed him? That sounds fishy since aren't GB docs supposed to be some of the most conservative around? How was Bennett able to get away with it? Interesting that he announced he was going to "retire."
Lawdhavemercy, what else can happen this season?
Would think Packers have records, notes, etc. to support a Failure to Disclose claim. Not something done lightly. And, of course, will increase their reticence on free agency.

This all sounds about how this situation was probably going to end.
It’s a bad look for the front office though. Calling undisclosed injury halfway through the season two weeks removed from retirement talk isn’t SOP out of 1265.
I get the sense this is going to be quite an off-season.
Sorta like a Cleveland (almost) trade
He'll count 4.2 million against the cap next year.
A - he was signed and (some how) hid the injury before the season
B - he injured it during the bye doing whatever, and did not disclose it

It has to be the latter. For as much trouble as he had catching the ball, his blocking was outstanding and you'd think the shoulder would impair that ability.
Obviously, there will be an interesting story to emerge from this no matter what the explanation is. Does anyone follow him on social media that can look back and see what he was doing during the bye week?
Betcha this was all going down when he talked about retirement. For some odd reason, he thought "retirement" would help his case
