Matt flynn??

If they go back to a 4-3 they'd probably be okay at two linebackers and DE. Matthews can play OLB in a 4-3, Perry and Jones can line up at DE. They'd probably run a 4-3 similar to Seattle or Denver which uses some 3-4 principles.

Packers are a game out of the division lead chasing a team that's shown a historically strong propensity to spontaneously combust and the Packers are playing a 4-3 in 2014.

Floridarob if you are talk next year draft as it stands now OL will not be high on Ted list.

I suspect the top two positions the Packers will target are TE and Safety. I think at those spots any high pick will probably will be starters in 2014. WR is another possible target of Ted since that position seems to take a year or for the player to learn the Packers system. 

Of course as in the past Ted will take advantage of players falling in the draft.

What does Matt Flynn have to do with our defensive scheme?

Matt Flynn’s re-welcoming committee consisted of two semi-nude, affectionate fat guys.

Oh, there were plenty of other former – and now, current again – teammates who were happy to see him back at Lambeau Field. But none as, uh, demonstrative as offensive linemen T.J. Lang and Josh Sitton.

“When I first walked in, T.J. and Sitton were in the hot tub, and they tried to throw me in,” the once and now again Green Bay Packers backup quarterback said Wednesday. “They were both almost naked and giving me hugs soaking wet (when) I was in my clothes.

I imagine it would be easier heating up the Fox River than finding free space in a Packer's hot tub.

Flynn played very well.  He had some nice deep throws as well.  Didn't see many signs of a wrecked arm.

Nope. He also didn't look like a deer in the headlights either. He starts and we win that game.

That's all on MM. Why wasn't he starting not just this week but since he got here?

Arm looked fine. He was confident. That looked like our offense.

If the rest of the NFL is done with Flynn...keep him here for the rest of Rodgers' tenure...and I know this is probably not in the TT playbook, but pay more than vet minimum for a good vet backup like Flynn.

In all honesty, this is probably moot. If Flynn plays like he did today during the rest of Rodgers' absence, someone will give him another shot at a starting gig. He really is the perfect backup to Rodgers though.

I'll go back even further than that.  Why didn't they sign him when the Raiders dropped him?  Heck, at least give him a workout.  Did they really think Seneca was going to do anything pawsitive if called upon?  They may have actually won 1 of the last 4 games had he been signed earlier in the season.

I think the biggest plus today was that Flynn was assertive and took command of the offense.   We saw flashes of that with Tolzien but he simply isn't ready to play at this level.  I think an offseason in the McCarthy QB school will do him wonders but right now it looks like Flynn is the better choice.

I thought his throws looked a little weak to be honest. 

Let's be honest.  Before today, Tolzien looked like the perfect developmental QB.  He made all his deep throws last week, and looked poised for the most part.  He made a few bad decisions, but put the ball where it needed to be on most plays.

Today, the receivers made some "out of this world" catches, or Tolzien's numbers would have been even worse.  He was so out of sync today, it was painful to watch.  Also, Rhodes did make some spectacular plays for the Vikings.

That said, in hi post-game presser, McCarthy said he wouldn't announce a starter for Thursday.  If Rodgers isn't playing, it better be Flynn or I could see mutiny and mass rioting occurring.

I was somewhat shocked as to how badly Tolzien played to day, but that pass protection sucked as well.  You need a little bit of time to throw the ball.  Still, Flynn appears to be the man behind AR and I was wrong thinking otherwise.

Exactly!  In addition to crowding the line against the run, defenses know to blitz the hell out of a young QB because he won't have his reads anywhere near what AR would.

LOL!  What's even more puzzling is how decisive he was after the Bears game when he announced Tolzien would start over Wallace.  Maybe he knew how injured Wallace was, but then why didn't he say that at the time?

Really makes me wonder if Rodgers may get back on the field on Thanksgiving.

No way in hell Flynn does not start in Detroit. Mike is just playing a game, trying to make it look like there's some chance Rodgers will play. The only way Tolzien gets the start is if Flynn is injured now or in practice this week. Guy is just terrible.

If Rodgers plays this week it is imperative that the blocking gets fixed, Flynn took a couple of  hard shots and if Rodgers with a semi healed collarbone gets hit like that it could be curtains for the yr.

I can't imagine starting Rodgers until Barclay is back.  A broken collarbone will be the least of his injuries if Newhouse stays in.

Flynn did take a hell of a shot in OT but seemed OK. It's definitely Flynn or Rodgers Thursday. If it is Flynn, I'd dress Rodgers as the #2 unless he's definitely not ready.

Was disappointed when I saw Flynn coming out of the tunnel at halftime with his stocking cap on. Figured that was when MM would make the change. Then when we saw him getting loose on the sideline in the 3rd quarter the crowd started buzzing. Got a nice ovation when he entered the game.

Let him start the 2nd half and we might be tied for 1st place right now.

I wonder if TT will keep Flynn in GB. For some reason, the system, the coaching, whatever, he performs here better than anywhere. 

Before we all jump in the Flynn bandwagon lets remember that most of us, including me just last week thought Tolzien was the guy.  He wasn't.  Flynn may be the guy, I sure hope so but he could be just the new shiny object.

Flynn has a small body of work in Green Bay but it's a very good one. Tolzien has the past 2 1/2 games it's not very good. I don't know why so many thought he was the answer other than where he played in college.

He might be a viable backup down the road but the coaches need to work on his mechanics. He was not an answer for 2013.

I don't think a lot of people thought Tolzein was the answer as in a suitable replacement for AR.

I thought the team could win with Tolzein but it would take some top notch defensive play, including multiple turnovers and maybe a couple of defensive scores over the 2-3 game period.

I think alot of people think that MM will make any QB better.  That may/may not be the case.  I was disappointed in how Tolzein played, I thought he would continue to improve, that didn't happen.  I thought he played pretty good, all things considered, against the NYG.  Who would have thought he would have looked so bad at home against the Queens.  

Perhaps the guys who get to look at him everyday in practice?

And are not comfortable running the no huddle offense with him?

Perhaps he was consistent and improving in practice and he was too geeked up, that it didn't translate to the game?
