Trust zero that comes out of Gerg's mouth about #12. He is, and always will be an embittered twat because the Packers refused to pay him like he was Jerry Rice.

But they DID offer him too much, like $11 million a year, would've been TT's worst contract offer since AJ Hawk or Brad Jones.

Gerg made 22 million after he left the Pack. Not bad, but he supposedly turned down 11 million a year to stay in Green Bay (probably around 4 years and 44 million) because he thought he was worth 15 million a year.

If Gerg stays, he probably gets to keep doing the stupid "believe in your smelf" deodorant commercials, is a guest on every Packer radio show there is, and probably ends up with his own radio (or even a TV gig) spot in Green Bay for the rest of his life. Now, he's relegated to trying to remain relevant so he can get those occasional guest spots on the NFL network.

Deep down, he probably knows he ****ed up, but he can't come out and say that now. He still made more than enough money so that his great-grandkids shouldn't have to work (54 million) but he's pissed that Rodgers that is going to be north of 300 million. Jennings is a smart guy who, deep down, is actually a decent person based on anyone I've ever talked to from Kalamazoo (which I live near and where he went to HS and college). He just got too full of himself.

Finley, on the other hand, "only" made 14 million in his career and got some insurance money, but missed out on the really big money due to his neck injury. He does have a reason to have some bitterness, and he has to pay child support for a lot of kids. It's just he's misplaced that bitterness.

Packers cut assisgnment-sure Ryan Taylor and kept Bostik. To me the fake FG was a team/coaching mistake and much bigger than the individual mistake of Bostick. Oh, and you need to score more than six points off five turnovers with a trip to the SB on the line.

If Wilson played even an average game, Seattle would have crushed the Packers.  Their defense was dominant.  Six points off 5 turnovers with Rodgers as your QB?

Worst Packer game of all time, in my opinion and it's not close.

Wilson  DIDN'T play an average game because it was Dom Capers' finest hour as a DC. They had that team beaten until AJ Hawk got too much playing time on special teams and as a replacement for Clay Matthews.

I don't remember the details, but I don't think Russel's INT's were forced.

HaHa's best game ever.

Peter Bukowski one of the most sensitive little twits I've seen since Nagler. Defending Ty Dunne has been the mountain he's been dying on lately, even in the face of the article completely falling apart. Can't stand being called out.

Also would have been what, his 3rd contract in GB? Unless you're an indispensable all-pro type or a franchise player, it's not weird for teams to pass on signing you for a 3rd time...especially with Jordy in his prime and Cobb emerging. Usually guys understand it's a business and are happy to get paid anywhere they can, Gerg can't seem to accept that Aaron Rodgers made him and not the other way around.

Except for mistiming his leap on the 2 point conversion - yet another freak play/missed opportunity that had to go right for Seattle to win.

Which he did. Missed call.

Forgot about that.

Writing about a game that happened 4 years ago.

This is journalism?!?!?

Amazing to hear stations like 1057 the Fan in Milwaukee who just won't let this shit go. Talked on and on about it. Out of both sides of their mouth.

Now ripping Rodgers for saying something, claiming he should have kept his mouth shut and moved on. LMAO. That's rich coming from a station who is obsessed with this story. The same "media professionals" who would have said Rodgers NOT saying anything must mean it's true. "It's what is not said that speaks volumes". Unreal.

What a ****ing embarrassment. Fan reaction from their facebook posts is spot on. Meme's with a guy beating a dead horse, telling them to move the F on, etc.

This story blew up in Dunne's face with so many refuting it BY NAME. Janis, MM, AR, and on and on. Not to mention the Casey Haywards chiming saying he has no idea WTF this guys talking about

Casey Heyward - No horse in this race - probably doesn't even GAF - has absolutely Z-E-R-O reason to lie yet corroborates Rodgers - says volumes.

Has Dunne tripled or quadrupled down yet? or did his pee-pee simply shrink up now?

It seriously is slow season & people are beating this dead horse to generate clicks for ad revenue.

What next?? Using Timesfour threads with point / counter-point on Sconnie radio? Like a bad version of PTI?

Rodgers isn’t having anyone’s bullshit off playing on a fractured leg. **** Jennings  **** Finley. **** Mike. **** Dom. **** Murphy. Rodgers is coming to camp with fire.

Yes. This will be his masterpiece.

I think the fact that he doesn't have a winning record without a franchise QB hurts him more than anything. He will be back on the sidelines next season though, NFL teams love nothing more than reheating leftovers. Some (or multiple) team will bank on him having a career resurgence like Andy Reid. I hope he does, he's a Packer HOFer and a good coach.

It will difficult for him to find another NFL job now because even if the front office of a team wanted to hire him, the fan base would throw a fit and keep referring to this article.

I doubt it.  A lot of fans from other NFL teams probably never even read the article.  And why would they?  They are worried about their own team, could give 2 shits about the Packers and MM.  Except for our red haired step- children to the west.

Oh my this is good, very good,    ( He will deliver more justice in a weekend, than 10 years of your courts and tribunals..........Just stay out of his way

{  I plan to }

what ever movie this is I'm going to put it on the must watch list  love Chistopher Walken.

MM biggest obstacles to his next HC gig:

1.) He has yet to prove he can win consistently without a HOF QB named Rodgers or Favre.

2.) Right or wrong, he's developed a reputation of being "stale" and his offensive schemes out dated. Much in the same way Capers couldn't keep up with how to defend modern offenses. Too many exec's believe the game passed MM by.

And then IF he is hired, his next land mine to avoid will be hiring cronies who won't challenge MM or have him thinking outside his box. In his later regime, he surrounded himself with nothing but "yes" men. And if he had a guy who did challenge him or his ideas like a Van Pelt, he quickly dispatched him out of 1265.

I'm admittedly late on this story, partially because I've soured on any clickbait, gossip type garbage passed off as news so i don't seek it out. I'm also not familiar with GB beat writers insofar as where their allegiance may lie, etc. So there's many different dynamics and angles, and motivations for a great portion of this kind of story. But listening to PK at the moment....is there a reason he's championing Tyler Dunne that I'm not aware of? Is Dunne trying to salvage a career? Is King blowing smoke on this story too? Any and all insight would be appreciated.

If any of you dumbasses would open your eyes, it's pretty ****ing obvious what is happening here.

Ted knew Rodgers needs a next level type motivation to MVP his way to a superbowl, so he purposely sets the table for McStupidface to lose games and Jennings to be all woman scorned.  Sets up 2019 to be a redemption year.

Basically the plot of Umbrella Academy, which Ted was a secret producer on.

and that is more than he got from the vikings! He pouts while leaving GB for less money and to end up having Ponder as his QB instead of Rodgers! I hope the door hit him on his way out!

I think GJ isn't butthurt so much about the $ as he is the fact that his own hubris landed him in that MIN situation to finish his career.  And maybe that AR was responsible for that by not lobbying for him.  Looking back, he must think he would have played for vet minimum if he could have finished his career in GB catching potatoes from AR vs the sinkhole he ended up in.

Perhaps he saw what a big deal the organization was making for Donald Driver's retirement and then they basically just let Gerg walk very unceremoniously. Combined with Rodgers allegedly making jokes about other teams signing him, sounds like he probably thought he was a Packer for life and no one really cared that he was going to be leaving. He probably thought of himself as THE star of the offense also and being allowed to walk was a clear message he wasn't. That's tough to swallow and I can understand that to some extent, but that's the business he's in and he needs to quit being a little bitch. Donald Driver was a wonderful guy and a great Packer, but if the team had multiple replacements on-deck already when he hit 30 I could see them not re-signing him...and he would have understood I bet just like Jordy and James Jones and every other player in the league understood/understands.

But they DIDN'T just let him walk. TT offered him $11 million a year and he wanted $15 million. Thank God he was too proud not to sign.

Wideout market was softer than Jennings anticipated but his biggest problem was he got injured. Packers reportedly did make a reduced offer prior to him going with the Queens. Sometimes the player rolls the dice on FA and comes up a winner; Greg didn't.

What was very telling about Jennings, and must have pissed him off is that Joe Philbin didn't want any part of him. Philbin had been an offensive coach in Green Bay for Jennings' entire career and had just gone to Miami to be the head coach. Philbin knew him as well as anyone and Miami needed a receiver badly. They signed Mike Wallace at 5 years and 60 million (with about 30 million guaranteed) which is closer to the numbers Jennings wanted.

What had to gnaw at Gerg even more was that Vikings wanted Wallace before him as well. The Vikings offered Wallace 76 million. Jennings ended up with 18 million guaranteed and signed for a team that was clearly looking at him as their second choice.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/...ngs-according-report

Then the Vikings and Dolphins both cut him within a 12 month period and he's out of football at 32.

The sad thing about all this (and this is all relative because we are still talking about guys that made 10s of millions of dollars) is that everyone would have ended up better off if Jennings had taken the 4 years and 50 million or whatever he turned down in 2010 to stay. Jennings would have been better off, the Packers would have been better off, and Rodgers would have been better off. Jennings would have ended his career beloved as a Packer all-time great. He'd be signing photos of his Super Bowl catch until he was 90.

Now he'll be remembered more for picking a fight with his QB and only having Jermichael Finley support him against virtually every other Packer contemporary.

My theory has always been that Greg's anger and bitterness is really over his mistake of failing to take the more than fair offer from the Packers. Think he really just wanted to test the market and it blew up in his face.

They likely made him an offer knowing it would be a discount over what he was seeking. Realistically they knew he would never take what they were offering. They likely made him one final offer rather than engage in negotiations.

If I remember correctly, Bert was also in his ear about what a great thing it is to work for the Vikings. So he should also be directing some of that bitterness  towards BF too.

I would discount the "help" he got from his sister either.  After they trashed the Packer organization they could come back in any form.  I agree he blew his opportunities to be a Packer favorite (and in the Packer HOF) for good.

The sad thing about Gerg was that he really was a cool dude at one time.  He came to my company down here in the Milwaukee area on visits twice in 2008 and 2009 and really seemed like a great guy.  Obviously, he was paid to be here, but he handled himself well.  In 2008 his whole family was here, kids, wife, the whole gang.  He and his family came to our company picnic and fit in like they had known all of us forever.

I think the fame he got after being a key cog in a Super Bowl winning team just changed him.  From afar, he doesn't seem like the same guy he was 10 years ago at this time.
