Roy Williams 29-1 in first round. Even thou it happened 21 years ago. F U Williams
If Wisconsin can hit 3s like that against Baylor then the bears are in trouble.
I have only been able to watch one Badger game this season down here in Florida prior to tonight. What an absolutely fun game to watch! Shot the lights out. Maybe they can be Jim Braddock vs Max Baer (Baylor) on Sunday. Just found a place in Wisconsin to move home to in a few weeks, and so glad to be coming home.
@Goldie posted:Am really gonna miss Brad next year......I have ALWAYS loved his grit, determination, and just his balls, and not that Iβve even seen or felt them balls, but he has always been just a go getter. Will miss him terribly.
He could be back. As far as I know he hasnβt said one way or the other.
Maybe Brad wonβt be back, but his balls will be? Yet another possibility.
Another shot for Goldie
And Purdue goes down,
Canβt say I saw O$U and PU going down on day one.

That's because Brad Davidson got plastic surgery.

And now a Rutgers victory.
The last time they looked/shot like this was around Christmas. Can they duplicate it???
I thought UW's bigs played with more toughness. One thing that really stood out with UNC to me was that in today's game if you have 2 players on the floor that are not a threat from the 3 pt. line it is a struggle to score in the half court. UNC's only offense was transition and second shots
This was the best game Bucky played all season long! Tough on Defense and we started hitting our threes, again! We beat UNC on the boards, too! Nice to see a Roy Williams team get the boot! Hopefully Bucky can keep up this level of performance against Baylor! GO BUCKY!!!

UNC had 4 5-star rated recruits play last night. Three of them were freshman.

Sharpe is projected to go in the first round of the upcoming draft. Caleb Love was projected as a lottery pick but has played himself out of the draft this year.
Carolina played with the intensity of a team full of guys that were at a summer AAU tournament. I wonder if Roy Williams has ever outcoached anyone from an Xs and Os standpoint or as a motivator?
He's coached 46 guys that went on to the NBA. Very few of them got much better in college (especially at UNC) and only Paul Pierce was an NBA star. He gets 5-star recruits that are just physically more talented than his opponents and doesn't develop them and the sum is always less than the parts.

Not coincidentally, it's the first time they've played outside the Big 10 since then.
If you match the Badgers' intensity, they aren't talented enough to match up with athletic teams. If you half-ass it on defense and don't actually run any offensive sets, the Badgers will beat you.
For as much as we harp on the Badgers lack of elite talent, they never get beat because they don't put out a high level of effort. They get beat because when teams bear down on defense in close games, their players struggle to create offense. UNC never bothered to bear down.
Baylor has no 5-star recruits and they have just optimized their 3-star guys. They are basically what a typical Bo Ryan Wisconsin team was. They'll come to play and not expect to win just by showing up and half-assing their way through games (which is what UNC seemed to do).
Badgers 6 pt underdog....
After knocking off 8-seed North Carolina 85-62 in convincing fashion, 9-seed Wisconsin (18-12) will take on 1-seed Baylor (23-3) on Sunday at 1:40 p.m. at Hinke Fieldhouse, the home of the Butler Bulldogs. The Badgers also opened as six-point underdogs, according to William Hill Sportsbook.
The Bears are coming off a 79-55 win over 16-seed Hartford in the round of 64. Baylor and Wisconsin haven't met since the 2017 NABC Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City, a 70-65 victory for the Bears. The two schools also met in the 2014 Sweet 16, with UW advancing to the Elite Eight via a 69-52 victory in Anaheim.
Ohio State forward E.J. Liddell has posted screenshots of vulgar messages and threats he has received following Friday's first-round NCAA Tournament loss to Oral Roberts. In the 75-72 overtime loss, Liddell scored a team-high 23 points and pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds. Hours later, he tweeted a series of screenshots showing abusive and vulgar comments directed at him.
Along with screenshots of the threats and insults, Liddell wrote "Honestly, what did I do to deserve this? I'm human." And "Comments don't get to me but I just wanna know why. I've never done anything to anyone in my life to be approached like this."
In a statement posted to Twitter on Saturday, Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith said the authorities will be involved.
Damn I hate to hear this......it's a gawd damn basketball game. Just damn.
Williams presser was the same BS "Roy Williams needs to coach better", He is not aging well, time for Hubert Davis to take over?
Watching Michigan vs Tex. Southern. Michigan center (Dickinson) throws an elbow, the officials review it and call a flagrant 1 on Brad Davidson.
Well deserved too.
Tony Bennett's Virginia team out before the Badgers. Last three tournaments.
2018 - a 16 seed beats them
2019 - National Title
2021 - a 14 seed beats them
And yet some want Tony coaching the Badgers.
Not me

I could show you things in my private messages ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD that would have you saying the same thing. Things about my wife, about my children... itβs just the way things are in the anonymous world of the innnerwebs.
Getting back on topic I counted 10 games where a lower seed beat a higher seed in the 1st round. Not sure how this compares to other years but it seems like a lot. 9 of the games were where double digit seeds beat a single digit. These were greater upsets that a 9 beating an 8, like the Badgers did.
Just checked....the average number of "upsets" in the First round is 12.7, drops to 3.4 in the second round
Thanks.
Seems like as good a day as any for the Badgers to be the first to knock off a # 1
GO BADGERS
Loyola Chicago may beat them to it. Beating Illinois by 7 with 6 minutes to go in the 1st half.
Loyola with a very Dick-Bennett-like first half...
Well, when you have a guy that can bang with Cockburn, and he doesnβt get to just get where he wants to, you take away so much of what Illinois can do...
Illinois is in big trouble...
Cockburn gassed... bitching about not getting the ball... a little exposed here.
Handoff after handoff after handoff... Loyola-Chicago is just relentless.
