Not happening. Gard told them to go out there and play the same way you always play. They have no counter punch. They can out-talent them, can't out hustle them, can’t out execute them.

Look at the contrast- Loyola out-played Illinois’ by not going on big scoring droughts. They played a disciplined offense, got to where their strengths are, and won the game because of it. They executed.

The Badgers win when the other team is undisciplined. They need to play more disciplined, but can’t. They don’t have a counter to what they do because they’re not taught how.

If we can figure out how to get some clean look 3's and stop turning the ball over we have a chance. But that's one hell of a big climb back to this Baylor team that is playing with so much energy.

Davison and Trice are 2 for 11 from the floor with 5 turnovers. They just aren't athletic enough to hold up against Baylor's guards. It's not mental mistakes, they just aren't capable of competing with them.

Just think about this- are Loyola’s Gs better, more athletic than Illinois’? I would unequivocally no. But your coach needs to put you in places to be successful.

Counter their attacking Gs who are overplaying by running screens and off ball movement. WORK HARDER TO GET OPEN!  Not some bullshit token screen- and not a vertical back screen because they have better athletes- you’re not going to be able to go over the top. Elbow screens, baseline action... that’s how you beat a fucking zone. Twist the zone with screens and action and shooters, for fuck’s sake. Your Gs can’t go 1 on 1 anyway.

Bucky showed some grit to keep it at 10, but they are not as physical as Baylor.

Baylor is fun to watch, but I don’t see them in the final four (wtf do I know)

Except for a game against a team with a bunch of AAU guys playing with the intensity of summer league game (UNC), the Badgers have not beaten a good team all year. They underacheived.

They lose Reuvers, Trice, Davison, Anderson, and Potter.

They might struggle to win 10 games next year.

I’ll get roasted for this take, but I’d rather have Gard and consistency (next year will be tough, but they’ll be back again the next year) than spending the next 20 years chasing lightning in the bottle. I don’t want to be Minnesota with a string of Pittinos and Tubbies always chasing the next hot commodity.

Exactly. They will struggle to recruit guys no matter who is the coach.

I meant give us names of coaches they should pursue.   I'm tired of people saying they should do this or that but never back it up with names.

They can pursue whomever they want....the question is, will the pursuant come?

I’d say, they need make sure the new guy is a CLEAR upgrade (in coaching and recruiting) and is ready to sign on before they cut ties with Gard.

To me, GG is a good coach, not great, but good.
