I don't blame Gute at all for signing Graham. In fact, I applaud him for trying to add a huge piece to the offense. It didn't work out. Try again... and keep trying until it works.
Per Profootballtalk, #Packers requesting permission to interview #Patriots Josh McDaniel and Brian Flores.

Is it better to try and then fail or to not try at all? Gute tried to sign a lot of players that were matched or beat by other teams. That in and of itself was a welcome change. We did not have much cap space last year. This year it looks like we have more to spend. Letâs see what happens?
Miss some and hit some- just the inherent risk that's there when you dabble in free agency.
Adam Gase fired by Miami. Heâs a guy I hope they interview, I donât think he quite got a fair shake in Miami with that QB situation. The guys collaborated with Peyton Manning on the top offense in the NFL 2 years in a row and then coached Jay Cutler to his best season as a pro (and his lowest INT total of his career for a full season). I think he knows what to do with QBs, I think he and Rodgers would be a great pairing.
Regardless of who they pick, Murphy and Gute need to move this process into overdrive. Black monday has arrived and thereâs heavy competition for coaches right now, if they delay or waste time with guys like Meathead Pat then we could miss out on the top guys.

Thompson drafted Rodgers and Collins with his 1st two picks as GM. In his 2nd year as GM he signed Pickett and Woodson.
Murphy needs to call Gase today.

Thompson had to clean up Shermanâs mess. And now Gute is cleaning Thompsonâs mess.
A lot of draft capital and decent salary cap money, Gutenmeister could turn things around very quickly in 2019. And letâs be real, thatâs exactly how todayâs NFL is built.

Thompson 1st season was pitiful and hist draft was excellent. Gutes 1st season was pitiful and his draft was excellent. The results of both seasons were pitifu.
I know assuming is wrong, but I assumed by canning Mike a month ago they had a pretty good idea to who they were interested in and who they had a good chance of getting. Just an assumption.
Big fan on Alexander, but after that it is hard to say the draft was excellent (I certainly liked it at the time, but I'm not sure how it will live up)
Sounds like Adam Gase goes into this meeting today with Miami ownership in a good spot. If Gase is fired, Iâm told he becomes the instant front-runner for the Packers job. Scary combo in the NFC North

Would Gase relieve Pettine of his duties and bring John Fox in as DC?

We wonât know until the new coach is hired and fills out his staff, but right now coaches are not needed and are not working.
I want them to bring Zook up to the podium and fire him in front of everybody, just because.

I hope not. Keeping Pettine in place also helps with getting ahead on hiring new assistants. If Gase takes over I hope to hell he wipes out the entire offensive coaching staff and possibly pick up the guys he wants as well.
It would be excellent to get this hiring done and over if they are absolutely sure about Gase.
The Packers HC position is coveted. They won't "miss out" on anybody they want.

Doubtful that he'd go with Fox...
But, if you think Gase is the best choice, then it's his call on every hire. You don't go to less than ideal choice for HC because he'll keep a specific coach.

I'm talking about assistants.
So why is everybody that high on Gase anyway?

I want them to use Gordon Ramsay to fire Zook.
"Get the **** outta here!!! GET OUT!!!!"
Great offensive pedigree.

I hear ya...It's obvious after seeing years of MM's bumbling fools under him, the assistants are important. No more of this "Winston Moss, Asst HC" crap
Sources: #Saints assistant head coach and TEs coach Dan Campbell has been requested by the #Packers and #Browns for HC interviews. He impressed as an interim in Miami.

Campbell is the real deal...he's been a favorite of mine for a long time. Some good names popping up.
Think a good coach can't turn a team around quickly? Just look at what Nag-Nog did with the Big Trubowski as his QB1.
The MM tree leaves a lot to be desired in regard to asssistants. They are less successfull than the Belichech tree. If only Wolf would have trusted himself to hire Andy Reid. What could have been!
Maybe Gase comes to Green Bay and MM goes to Miami.
YooperPackfan posted:So why is everybody that high on Gase anyway?
Heâs been a good OC in this league and is supposedly well regarded around the league. He fits the criteria of a young, innovative coach that many hear have been saying would be ideal.
I think it's time for Green Bay to hire an African American head coach. Colin Rand Kaepernick would be an excellent choice.

Yeah Dan Campbell has the look of a John Harbaugh type. I think he would be a guy that could make a major culture shift in GB.
And now the Packers have requested an HC interview with Steelersâ OL coach Mike Munchak, per league source.

I want Brian Flores and a young innovative OC. Flores has an edge and I like the idea that he's coached the Pat's LBs. One thing we need is someone who understands LBs and is edgy.
Maybe former Packer player Marquand Manuel will be brought in to coach DBs now that he has been fired as the DC in Atlanta.

I mean. Look at his first name. He's probably the top candidate based on that alone
"What makes Coach Munchak great first and foremost is that heâs a great person," Villanueva told 247Sports during the 2017 season. "Heâs a person that has a great set of values that works harder than anybody. Heâs a person that truly understands the game from a technical aspect. Heâs not gonna really worry about things that just happen in football where other coaches might spend too much time thinking about those little mistakes. Heâs such a good person and heâs such an admirable man in every single way. The way he behaves, the way he carries himself. Heâs very consistent, treats everybody the same. Heâs always the same person.
He was 22-26 with the Titans. Likely given the interview as a courtesy to TT since they were teammates with the Oilers.

I'm all in on Toub after reading that article. Also, he comes from the Reid tree so I am sure he would be able to poach an offensive assistant from that innovative staff. I also think since he would be coming from an offense-first staff, Pettine and his staff likely has a better chance to stick and continue to build continuity.
And of course, the consistent horrible ST play under M3âĶ
Changed my mind, all in on Gase.
Elway will be going hard after him I betâĶ

Highly doubt they would waste their and M4's (potentially) time for a courtesy chit chat.
I wasn't being serious.
