Lot of football people saying if you’re ideal next HC is cut from the McVay/Nagy philosophy then you should take a long look at Nick Sirianna. OC for the Colts.

Didnt know a thing about him but a quick search says he’s highly respected. 37 year old restless hot headed perfectionist with a very sharp offensive mind. Colts HC Frank Reich said if he ever got a HC gig his first hire would be Sirianna based on working together in San Diego.

I mean. Look at his first name. He's probably the top candidate based on that alone

"What makes Coach Munchak great first and foremost is that he’s a great person," Villanueva told 247Sports during the 2017 season. "He’s a person that has a great set of values that works harder than anybody. He’s a person that truly understands the game from a technical aspect. He’s not gonna really worry about things that just happen in football where other coaches might spend too much time thinking about those little mistakes. He’s such a good person and he’s such an admirable man in every single way. The way he behaves, the way he carries himself. He’s very consistent, treats everybody the same. He’s always the same person.

Maybe former Packer player Marquand Manuel  will be brought in to coach DBs now that he has been  fired  as the DC  in Atlanta.

Pass...guy is a fukking cancer. Backstabbed his boss, former ATL DC Richard Smith, so he could get the gig.

Karma returned the favor today.

Good article PackerPatrick I'm sold on Dave Toub if he brings innovative OC keeps Petine and fires Zook.

I'm all in on Toub after reading that article. Also, he comes from the Reid tree so I am sure he would be able to poach an offensive assistant from that innovative staff. I also think since he would be coming from an offense-first staff, Pettine and his staff likely has a better chance to stick and continue to build continuity.

And of course, the consistent horrible ST play under M3…

Changed my mind, all in on Gase.

Elway will be going hard after him I bet…

Not yet per Denver radio.....they are calling Fangio among others

Can anyone even contact Fangio at this stage? Bears don't have a bye and he's still employed. All kinds of crap circulating.

Kinda keep coming back to Dave Toub. I get it’s historically tough for long time ST coordinators to assemble really good staffs but the list of former ST coaches that jumped to HC is impressive. It doesn’t happen often.

Getting the right HC that is going to correctly overhaul the entire offensive staff is everything right now. I’m not 100% certain Toub is the guy to get that done. But I’m getting there....

Dan Campbell is another intruiging name. Incredibly intense no BS guy that understands the importance of great OL play and involving TEs.

General concensus is Cleveland and Green Bay are the marquis openings so Murphy should be able to identify the best fit for 2019.

Mike Munchak = MM the 2nd.  See my comments above.

Gase had way too much power in Miami including full control of all 53. He was basically Gruden down there.

If he's in Green Bay, He'll be a HC & that's it - Gutey can handle the personnel decisions

I saw Jarvis Landry on Twitter seemed to indicate he had some hard feelings toward Gase as well. Maybe he’s not the ideal candidate, if players won’t play for you then you’re not going to get the execution you need. He may be the polar opposite of MM in that respect, all scheme and no love/buy-in from the players.

The biggest surprising name in that list to me is Frank Gore. That should actually give everyone pause.

My #1 guy is Josh McDaniels - for some insight on what happened with the Colts

Belichick is the greatest example of a ST coach that accomplished some things. Bill Cowher is another.

They are the coaches that have to build a cohesive unit using a lot of young UDFAs and low round picks and deal with the biggest amount of roster turnover. They have to make sure that things like leaving a guy wide open with no one covering him because of communications mixups doesn't happen. In other words, the good ones do all the things that Zook/Slocum don't. A lot of guys can look good coaching high draft picks, special teams coaches have to coach the "other" guys.

I’m amazed at the punditry saying things like “The Packers job isn’t a great opportunity. They’ll have trouble bringing players in.”

Huh???

I'm sure there are some media folks saying that (although I haven't heard them), but here is Andrew Brandt's take on it:

Have seen some rating Browns head coaching job - or others - as top available. Please. With no owner, friendly/vast fan base, focus only on football (and QB named Rodgers), Green Bay is ideal coaching destination. Wrote on it here:

If the article is true, why would he be interested in GB?  It said that $$, moving his family out of NE and the chance to succeed BB were the reason he stayed.  I also vaguely remember issues he had in Denver.  Since I don't have a favorite, if they end up with him I won't be disappointed, I just have reservations, but I had the same with MM and for all his shortcomings the team IMO was very successful under his tenure.
