What has he really fukked up though? Hes been hands off this entire time and TT/MM ran the program into the ground. There was no accountability from the top, but now we’re worried that there will be accountability? I don’t think he will interfere, I think it will be Gute and MFer’s team to sink or swim.

I’m no fan of the guy, I don’t think he’s proven anything at this point. He didn’t hire TT or MM and he wasn’t key to the SB win, he’s just been in the background with the business side. This was his moment to prove himself, this is officially his team. We’ll see, I don’t think he’s this boogie man that’s going to drive the team back into the 80’s. This set up is so common and it works elsewhere.

Just more evidence that he is the wrong person for the job. That he failed under the Harlan approach. That he has chosen to go with an approach with a high failure rate doesn’t fill me with more hope. He has become our Jerry Jones. Nothing positive about that.

I agree GD. I hope in two years we are talking about putting Murphys name in the Packers HOF. I have my doubts tho. If things go to hell, the board may be slow to move him out because he has really done a great job on the business side of the isle and made the team a lot of money.  Of course, they could choose to take away the football operations side of his job description and he could pout for a year like Sherman did.

He waited too long to blow it up and when he did, he waited a year too long to include MM in the blow up.

We lost about 4 years.  Even though the Packers made the NFCC, the chronic poor defensive play just too compelling.

Where are you getting that this set up as a high failure rate? Seattle, Pittsburgh, and NE have had this exact set up for years and there’s been no issue with owner meddling, accountability, or talent acquisition. Entrusting EVERYTHING to a single person (the GM) doesn’t make sense anymore with how quickly everything changes and how much you have to win EVERY area of an NFL front office to keep up. Our single GM couldn’t keep up, well now we have someone whose only job is to oversee the salary cap, contracts, and operations. A single person to oversee talent acquisition. A single person to oversee coaching and player development. There are GMs that can handle overseeing all of it, but those aren’t easy to find and having a crap GM that fukks everything up can set a team back as quickly as having a crap HC.

Murphy does take a lot if heat. But other than former panther owner Jerry Richardson, what other owner/defacto owner has played the game, been a part of the players union, worked for the union, and then acted as an owner. He has his people he wants in place for the 1st time.  The past set up with one guy on charge ran its course and the past few years left a lot to be desired. Give Murphy a chance to fail first.

Although not a fan of the current admin structure, I give Murphy credit for making the change and attempting to get things back on course. His biggest mistake was thinking he could trust all football operations issues to TT and never doubt a thing. All of his focus was on the corporate projects. So I guess he's a fail from that standpoint. But, I'm sure he never dreamed that TT could "lose it" so quickly. It happens and it's unfortunate as it's set this franchise back. Labeling Murphy evil incarnate is ridiculous but the spotlight is on him now and we'll see if he knows what he's doing soon enough. Until then, I'm excited to watch this thing get rebuilt. R-E-L-A-X...enjoy the ride.

Is Nagler trying to stay relevant?  At least he has one follower.

There is a pretty good one about half way down. ( Even his mother knows That he Must improve the Pass Rush, but he continues to pay top moneyfor Nick Perry

C'mon Mike listen to your mom. )

mothers always right

LaFleur wants to keep a zone blocking scheme in GB, but it's been reported he also wanted to tweak the scheme and make some changes to how GB did things under MM and Campen.

@ByRyanWood

This could be seen as step up for James Campen, but also signals new coach Matt LaFleur wanted to make his own hire. Campen was under contract. Needed permission to join Browns. LaFleur wanted someone he was familiar with to coach O line, which is a key job on staff.

Well, when Charles Woodson says something, I listen. He knows a bunch of shit inside at 1265. CW wanted Dom gone & so MM unceremoniously let Woodson go even when he still had some game left in the tank. Dom's message was obviously growing stale with younger guys but Woodson still took the high road after they let him go.

Hey MM, Thanks for the Super Bowl but after that you can GFY! You "highly successful football coach" - go back to taking toll money.

I'm getting more pissed by the day as this bullshit comes out. Complete effing waste.

Don't want to say that I told you so, but I told you so.
