Mennenga has 7 yrs NFL experience in Cleveland as asst ST coach b4, with Pettine and after. Was ST coach 1 yr for Commodores. Pettine must have vouched for him. Good enough for me.

Seems to be a popular landing spot for spurned Dolphins HC candidates (Dan Campbell). Also I hear it's nice and warm down there.

I thought it was the Menendez brothers who were hired. Would be killer special teams.
Good. Air out this place and bring in that fresh air..

Hey, you could be the Governor of Virginia, now that was a shitter of a few days that Bozo had.

Larry is completely underrated on this list. Zook is overrated.
So is it official? Is LaFleur the new Head Coach?
Ask Favre. He pulls the strings @1265
Henry posted:So Russ Ball didn't run the New Orleans salary cap into the shitter? See, the reason why I know this is his mismanagement was actually an example used in a story about how management of the cap had shifted and why guys like TT and the Rooneys were building through the draft. Lo and behold, Dwight shows up on our doorstep. I didn't get it but I had faith in the FO to basically make his past failures moot considering how the cap was approached in Green Bay.
Which begs the question: Why did Ted Thompson hire Ball away from New Orleans.....to manage the cap and negotiate player contracts????
It's not like Ball was fired from NO. The Packers actually hired him away and gave him a promotion in the process.
I don't think TT hired executives. He controlled football operations.
Nope, I'm wrong. Thanks Ted.
Pretty interesting reading the stories around Ball and the GM search. TT wanted Ball. Rodgers and McVince were having none of it and it appears the whole notion of Ball being the leading candidate was part of the exodus to Cleveland.
That's one cohesive front office there.
TT was a personnel geek...a lot of people got enamored with that because he was on the Ron Wolf tree. But he fell short in the other leadership areas Wolf was so good in, and I think he knew it, and tried to hire people that filled the holes in his game.
For whatever reason, he was enamored with Russ Balls...and frighteningly enough, What Me Murphy was a frogs whisker away from making him GM.
It's obvious Mayo LaFrog is leaning on Angry Bald Man and GourgeousGeorge to help build the staff. That is encouraging. I'm looking forward to what this revamp will produce.
High praise for the new Head Coach :

The Packers have named Luke Butkus assistant offensive line coach. The nephew of Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus will assist O-line coach Adam Stenavich. Luke Butkus spent the past three seasons as the line coach at the University of Illinois. He has NFL experience as the Jaguars assistant O-line coach from 2013-15 and as a quality control assistant for the Seahawks (2010-11) and as an offensive assistant/assistant offensive line coach for the Bears (2007-09).
MLF clocks in at #3 of 8 HC hires. No major beef with the list but his #1 is about same risk as MLF. That said I'd rather go young than retread at HC.
Arians was flopping his gums the day he was hired about how important experience is in the league for coaches. Of course, it was a dig to all the teams hiring young coaches. Hope he crashes and burns with the bucs
Don't worry.....he won't do anything of note in Tampa.
Enjoy that you Pewter A-Holes
Tell us how you really feel about Tampon Bay, Boris.

That kind of makes me wonder what ever happened to Calbuc that used to post here.
My theory with him was that watching Tampa Bay football was like the equivalent of a boiling hot vat of acid being thrown right in your eyes 16 weeks out of the year, only getting a chance to heal during the bye week. He's probably learning how to deal with the loss of his visual senses after watching too much Bucs football.
It was fun when the teams he was a bandwagon fan of sucked, because his "woe is me" tirades were funny. Not quite as fun as drunk Brak, but fun in part because CalBuc could be a blowhard at times.

I'm not a fan of the Mayo LaFrog thing. Seems demeaning and he hasn't even started yet. At least McVince (whatever that meant) and McStupidface came about when things were getting bad.
Nobody cares.
I don't hate this interview with Murphy.
If the idea is having two young guys in GM and HC positions to work collaboratively with Murphy staying out of the day to day decisions and making sure things don't get messy that would be lovely. I still think it leaves an open door to pissy power struggles but then maybe that was another big reason for hiring Mayo LaFrog over McDaniels being his personality in itself was a good fit. I'd also have to think Pettine's continued employment played into it, for which I'm glad to see happen. Just on the face of it, GilbertGrape, Mayo LaFrog and Angry Bald Man don't come off as complete ego guys. They enjoy the game more than stroking their egos and no one has a toupee.
I don't hate it but I'm still in wait and see mode. Murphy ****ed up the TT/McVince shit show but then those guys were supposed to be professionals. TT lost his damn mind and McVince can suck it. I can understand caution of being more attentive so to speak. I do like the overall idea they are building something with young guys, including Pettine, with new ideas in a collaborative environment.
I don't hate it but I don't trust it quite yet either. Vindicate yourself Murphy and tell Dwight he may actually have to do some work.
Itβs sounding more and more like the disconnect between the GM and HC was more serious than we think. If Murphy stays out of football decisions then thereβs no reason this shouldnβt work (provided Gute and MF do their jobs). Notice he said a collaboration between HC and GM, RustyBallz and his position in the Devils Triangle power structure werenβt mentioned.
Start crunchin' numbers Dwight! FA be a comin'.

Should have fired TT right after he had his stroke.
Maybe push him down a flight of stairs while he was holding a Bud Light over ice.
LaFleur off to a good start : 4-1
The rest of the 2019 1st year NFL head coaches : 4-18-1 !!!
Still early but damn nice start.
