No need to draft a punter. Found Schum in his mom's basement, and he's been more than adequate. Hell, load up on D and never punt.
Never can have enough OL, DB and pass rushers. Throw in a 3rd down back and SB here we come. And since the Janis/ABBY era is over a reciever to acclimate into the system will be needed sooner or later.
my thoughts are Lacy and Micheal are here, Peppers is gone, who knows about Sam S but all indications are not good. Lang is showing some wear and tear.
It's a given in today's NFL your starting running back is going to miss time. We don't need a RB we need 2 of them.
We go into next year with a recycled vet, just keeping a couple steps behind Billy B.
Who is next years Blount, that is the real question.
Christian McCaffrey declares for the draft. Not sure where you line him up, but the dude is a playmaker...and the fans need another great white hope to believe in now that Abby is gone.
Split his alignments with Monty & Cobb. Put all 3 on the field with at least 1 in the backfield. They can all run it and they can all catch it. Adams and Jordy outside with Cobb, or Monty, or McCaffrey in the slot, then the other 2 in the backfield. Motion 1 or both from the backfield... scheme.
Alvin Kamara is a guy to watch in Round 2. Similar to McCaffrey except a lot more tread on his tires. Didn't get enough opportunities at Tennessee, made the most of every chance he did get though. I've seen comparisons to Jamaal Charles also.

I'm all for cleaning out the back end of the cornerback depth chart and wiping the running back position clean. Wouldn't mind seeing Ted dip into the free agent market for one player at each of these positions (won't happen) and then use a draft pick on each of these positions. I don't see OG being as big a need as many others. 4 of the 5 starters return and even if both Lang and Tretter leave, the Packers will draft a middle round offensive lineman and one of the three should fill the hole when added in the Spriggs/Murphy mix.
Ted will draft someone from Stanford or UCLA
I don't think the Packers have 12 picks in 2017.
Can Ted just draft Alabamas front 7? Only problem is three of them will be gone by the time GB is on the clock. Rueben Foster is better than CJ Mosley. I have no idea how Saban keeps finding these ILBs year after year.
OJ Howard would work fine too.
Lacy, Monty and Michael/Crockett will likely be the incumbents with a couple of UDFAs for competition at RB. I don't think TT goes draft pick there unless someone offers Lacy dumb money. All are young guys.
OL might be in play with Tretter, Lang and maybe even Bulaga all possibilities to be gone. Murphy has basically been inactive all season so we really have no idea where he might be.
CB will almost definitely be in play, especially if Shields and Hyde are not on the roster for next season.
OLB is a need also even if Perry is re-signed as neither he nor Matthews has played a full season in recent history and Peppers and Jones possibly (probably?) aren't back either.

Pass Rusher(DE or OLB or both), CB, OG, TE, RB, WR. I'd like to see them sign Michael and resign Lacy cheap. Look to FA for veteran CB and draft one more. At TE I like Fumigalli or Leggett from Clemson. Resign Cook, Lang, Perry....
Fumagalli in 2018?
Corner seems like a safe bet early and that's what TT does unless there is a decent DL available.

T.J. Watt - OLB, Wisconsin
Similar to Clay Matthews coming out, Watt is a one-year star with great potential.
I have no idea how Saban keeps finding these ILBs year after year.
Somehow I have a feeling illegal payments are involved.
I'd like to see Watt, one of the 'Bama backers or a CB in round 1, with an outside shot at OJ Howard, which means it'll probably be McKinley or Vanderdosenvontwinkletoes from UCLA or Cooper Kupp at WR.

I have seen this guy on mock drafts ending up in GB. I do think the guy was a playmaker in college and could be in the right offense in the NFL he might be ok. I its just not what the Packers need right now. They need defense in the worlds worst way at pretty much every position.
Was listening to Leroy Butler on his take on the DB's the Packers have. He hopes the Packers are done with the converted basketball players and prospects who haven't played CB more then a year. He believes GB needs to find a pure CB and not a kid they are going to try to convert from another sport or even from safety.
I'd have to agree. This Packer team has a slew of safeties on this team (mainly SS). That includes Rollins who many felt coming out of the draft he was much more suited at safety vs CB.
But, but HYBRID PLAYERS! Cover like a safety, tackle like a corner!

Let's see how Randall and Rollins perform in year 3 before we start talking what qualities we should or shouldn't be looking for going forward. Last year we were talking about how much Rollins basketball skills translated to his footwork and ball skills and about how much Randall's experience in baseball would help him cover ground in Zone. Just like with Adams and his ankle, CBs need to have healthy legs to get the job done otherwise they're constantly a step slow or distracted by pain or whatever.
That's not to say finding an experienced CB or S is a bad thing. The upside to guys like Rollins and Shields though is that they aren't experienced enough to get bad habits ingrained yet. They're raw and they're underrated because they're so raw. It's a boom or bust, you can end up with Sam Shields who gets it and develops into a Pro Bowl player or you end up with Demetri Goodson who can't figure it out (he also had a big basketball career if I'm not mistaken).
I was being half facetious, but I think finding a good "pure" corner or two is important. Guys who can just line up anywhere are extremely rare and while havings jacks-of-all-trades would be nice, masters-of-none get exploited in the league.
It also doesn't help that they have mis-matched corners with guys suited for zone and others for man and little in between.

Clone Micah Hyde 10 times and line him up at every position on the D. You now have a squad full of "football players" who can't do anything well.
I could see any position outside of OL and QB in the first 2 rounds. A dynamic athlete at RB, WR or TE would be welcomed. Front 7 always needs players, whether it's outside pass rush, big guys up front, or a playmaking ILB. Safety is set with Clinton-Dix and Burnett but could see a hybrid guy that can also play in the slot. As weird as it sounds, CB would be somewhat surprising first round pick only b/c we have so much youth there already. Not sure it makes sense to have your #1 through #4 CBs have 2 years or less experience. If a great one drops you take him, but you can only develop so many young guys at one position. IMO, the CB group needs a veteran, not more youth.
Peppers will be an interesting guy to watch. He was touted as top 5 then was outed a bit in the last month of the college season as a non-playmaker without a position. I'm not that high on him but at 29, he may be worth a shot. I also really like OJ Howard but he's going to shoot up draft boards. I'd be shocked if he was available at 29.
Micah Hyde is like the overwieght middle aged guy in pick up basketball. He's not fast, but he is hard to move. Still, somehow he can juke you the wrong direction, pick your pocket while standing still and shoot a flat jumper that always goes in.
And he's a little racist.

Ted likes his corners tall, versatile with great ball skills. Not sure if Desmond King is necessarily a first rounder but he might be somebody Ted takes a long look at.
