The position that Ron Wolf always took was QB- which was lauded as such a visionary philosophy. I think the new ā€œQB every yearā€ philosophy should be OL. You can never have enough depth- and youā€™re always going to tap into depth at some point. This season was saved by this- they lose their best OL and almost no one thinks itā€™s going to prevent them from competing for a Super Bowl. Keep drafting OL with ability early (like 5th or earlier). You will never regret it.

I really donā€™t think they keep King or Jackson. Theyā€™ll need someone to man the slot or RCB position.

WRs will be there... get one. LB... inside and outside- preferably early since that seems to delineate good from average.

Im ok with trading for JJ Watt, but no picks. Send them Preston Smith. Watt played the whole season for the first time in 3 years. He can finally spend an off season getting better instead of rehabbing. That could equate to a big time return.

EDIT- this guy is like a human B button... and because he doesnā€™t have 4.3 speed might fall to 2 or 3.

I would trade our 1st for JJ Watt and their 2nd...its basically moving down like 3 spots from 32 to 35.

The reason I suggested a 1st was mainly to give the Texans public relations cover, but now that the season is over and they are in full clusterfark down there, the offering price goes down.

My main interest in JJ is that the Packers need a Reggie/Woodson/Peppers type leader on defense and you can manage his snaps to keep him fresh. Last year he played over 1000 snaps, that's just insane.

I'd dial him back to about 650 and give him 1 day off of practice each week. But you won't find a better DL + Leader elsewhere and you can probably squeeze 3 seasons out of him in a reduced role. He had 7 passes defensed and a pick 6 this year, so he's not quite done...but you can't give him a big $$ deal either.

GB can offer their round 2 and the Texans kick back a late rounder

You don't think Z has that kind of leadership on defense?

Z is not a first ballot HOF player like the 3 guys I mentioned above. I'm thrilled to have Z on the team and he certainly brings some leadership to the table.
But Watt is another level up from there and his WI roots are part of the equation

Watt will also be available, hence my interest. A DL with Clark, Watt and Snacks is a Championship level crew, supplemented by Keke and others.
