with the GM's job and reputation on the line, The Bears gave up four draft picks in trade with San Francisco in order to trade up to select Trubisky out of North Carolina.  betcha the Bills GM didn't even offer a pack of trojanz.

In fact I read where the GM said it was only a 1 year deal because it is a reset for T Buscuit.  They don't intend to keep him long term.

Think your team "won" free agency? Congrats. Only one SB winner in the last 10 years has exceeded $100M in FA spending, and only four have been in the top half of the league in FA spending the year they won it, none inside the top 10. So, again, congrats for nothing.P

Maybe because it's mostly bad/rebuilding teams spending that kind of cash.

The $ 10 million they spent on Jimmy Graham this year, would have been enough to keep their 29 year old All Pro CB

I know the Bears are and have always been a D first team in the Biscuit era but he may be redeemable....I believe he was 29-21 as a starter and although stats are stats his indicate that maybe someone can work with him.

In 51 regular-season games (50 starts), Trubisky completed 64% of his throws for 10,609 yards with 64 touchdowns and 37 interceptions. He had a winning record in three of his four seasons in Chicago, including an 11-3 regular-season record in

No matter what they do to try to be an offense team, they're really only ever good on D.  The bears are kind of the packers' opposite George.  Everything is opposite between the two teams.

Opposite George did eventually score with the hot lady at the lunch counter, even though he told her he was short, balding, unemployed and lived with his parents.

Well, here we are at THE FINAL COUNTDOWN to 3pm to converting or extending any $ on Rodgers contract & his long term future in GB!!!!!!!!  With some of his bonuses kicking in after the 3pm deadline making converting pretty much a non-factor.

I hate being right about such things but knew all along what this front office was capable of.

Better countdown:

And somehow I don't think Brandon could beat 11-year-old Bradley.

Bears fans were practically in tears this morning on the radio. One guy even called in wondering if there is a good chance the commissioner would step in to clean up the mess that is Ryan Pace in Chicago. That was a good laugh.

It's hard to understand why they preferred Dalton over Trubisky.  At least you knew Trubisky was still possibly an ascending player who knew their system, as opposed to Dalton, who is a nice guy who has never gotten his team over the hump.  Buffalo just spent $2.5M to sign Trubisky, while the Bears chose to spend four times as much for a retread.  The Bills media is really trumpeting the signing as a great move by Buffalo.  Steve Tasker was on air this morning saying Trubisky went 29-21 as a starter for "the Bears....the Bears",  he emphasized, implying (correctly so) that they sucked.

Correction. $6.8mm roster bonus due at 3p today - beginning of the 3rd day of league year. Yet, GBP has options. Pay the $6.8mm, but they could still convert the remaining 2021 salary to bonus at a later date if needed. They could also ask AR to shift the roster bonus payout date to give them more time if needed.

Or, they could stand pat and we get to watch various Packers fan lose their mind.

If you were a team that didn't have a history with either guy, I'd agree with you about Trubisky. But Trubisky at QB in Chicago is like Kevin King at CB for the Packers. Too much has happened on the field to make either situation likely to work. The first interception Trubisky would throw as a Bear and he'd be booed off the field.

Trubisky at 2.5 million to be a backup is a really good signing. He badly needs a change of scenery.

Yet I’m not losing my mind. I jog and walk around Lambeau almost every day. I hang with the GOOD SPIRITS and block out the Bad Ones. I told you what was gonna happen and I have been well prepared for this! Your the one that predicted otherwise!

If you really think what is happening now is Vince Lombardi Shit then your sadly mistaken!

i know what side I’m on!  We’ll see who is “Losing Their Minds” when Aaron isn’t here to save everyone anymore!

Interesting (to me) that Adams is also represented by Rosenhaus.
To get that much for him was a work of art.
As PackerHawk posted, that's roughly 2.5 times vet minimum.

However, I had forgotten some of the salary cap changes made in the new CBA.
One of those is the "Veteran Salary Benefit" (teams can exclude an additional $1.25M for two vets who meet qualifiers), assuming I'm reading it correctly.

The big deal, IMHO, is how much is guarantee or signing bonus, and how much is incentive-driven.
