So day 1 disappointment was missing out on a premier No. 2 in Corey Davis!

Day 2 Disappointment is missing out on Michael Brockers who would of completely changed the whole complexion of the Packers defensive front and provided a dynamic force next to Kenny Clark. Brockers is big with length and extremely twitchy. He is a grinder that is relentless and plays ViOLENT!! He is exactly what the Doctor has ordered for the what the Packers need on the the DL!

He would of came with only an 8 million dollar price tag and an  option to get out in 2022 with almost zero dead $ if needed. The salt in the wound on this one is he is ends up with a division rival!!

My Shaman tells me that neither Davis or Brockers wanted to play in GB so you can get off the ledge.

Brandon probably stocked up on junk bonds when they were all the rage.

The Loins will be the Loins.  They suck and have always sucked so they need to take big swings and make big statements (like their mouth breathing HC) to sell hope.

We all know the Packers are and will be the bully on the block.  Saddle up!

It will be interesting to see how the decisions Gutey made on the running back situation play out in the long run. Luck will play a huge part in it because of the nature of injuries at the position, but going back to before the draft last year and projecting to now there were 3 options.

1. Resign Jones and Williams for what turned out to be roughly 15 million a year and use the 2nd round pick they used on Dillon for help elsewhere.

2. Resign Williams and keep Dillon and invest a total of about 5 million a year in the position over the next 2 years. Then use the extra 8-10 million on other positions.

3. They chose option 3 which will cost them about 13.5 million a year over the next 3 years and the investment of a 2nd round pick.

I would have bet option 2 was what they intended to do, but at some point they decided to roll the dice with Jones in terms of his long-term durability. In terms of game-breaking ability, he's clearly close to the Kamara, Dalvin Cook, or McCaffrey category. He's a true game-changer

It would be interesting to see, with 20/20 hindsight, that if they knew they'd resign Jones whether they'd have gone with option 1 and used that draft capital elsewhere. In the end, they chose to use a second-round pick on Dillon and spend 1.5 million a year, instead of paying Williams 3 million a year and using the pick for help elsewhere.

I think there are arguments for all three options, but the success of the route they chose will boil down to whether Jones stays healthy for at least the next 2 years.

Day 2 Disappointment is missing out on Michael Brockers who .........

FinnLander is right - not everyone wants to be in GB.  CB Charles Woodson didn't want to be in GB.  But there were no other offers so if he wanted to play football he had to take the Packer offer.  He has openly said this a few times.  So he came to GB and resurrected his career.  WR Donald Driver said GB wasn't his first choice either.  But they drafted him and things worked out so well that his wife told him she wanted to stay in GB for his last contract.  Over the years there have been others.  Here is a short list of reasons given:

1.  The cold.  The weather in December and January can be brutal at times.  Some players don't like it.  And closely tied to this is the lack of a dome.  But the Packer organization and the fans love their traditions - and playing out doors is among them - ice bowl or not.  Brockers just got a chance a couple of months ago to try out that weather - may he did not like it.

2.  The small town atmosphere.  Most people are Packer fans and know who the players are on sight.  They get asked questions, people want autographs, etc.  One player said it was "living in a fish bowl".  Some players want to play in a big impersonal city.

3.  The lack of a "night life".  Your just not going to find what NO, LA, Chicago, etc. has to offer along those lines in GB.  Players have to travel down to Milwaukee to find anything comparable.  That is not very appealing.

4.  The lack of a national press presence.  National writers have to fly into Milwaukee and the drive up or fly in on a smaller plane - not the way to endear the team to writers who think they are also entitled.  The players get plenty of attention from local Packer beat writers.  But getting the national press to come to GB?  Not unless it is a nationally televised game.  Some players come to like the relative quiet.   But some players think they need it to sign with GB.

We always find out after the fact about these things.  The clear message is GB and/or the Packers are not for every player out there.  If they have choices they will go where they think the fit is best.  Some find they love it in GB after they get there, but they had to take a chance first - and many won't do it.

New league year starts at 3pm LFT today.

Look for an all-in move from Gutekunst in the 48-72 hours following.

Oh, and an update on Rodger's contract.

In case their isn't an "all-in" move - remember the Irish ...........

This is St. Patrick's day so my apologies to all the Irish out there.

Something we need to keep in mind with Aaron Jones is he’s not a traditional running back.   He’s like James White on steroids.  A weapon.  A very good one at that.  He’s very underrated as a playmaker and receiver.

Alvin Kamara is similar given his running style and ability to make people miss.

I think people get wrapped up a bit too much in positions and need to focus more on production.  Jones has nearly 3000 yards from scrimmage the last 2 seasons and 30 TDs.  He’s been relatively healthy and doesn’t really fumble either.

Except Brockers was a “Trade” for a 7th round pick so he had no choice where he was going!

Also, Buffalo(who just secured Emanuel Sanders btw) A players that says he didn’t want to play in the cold isn’t having a problem securing free agents!

just maybe it’s the guy on the phone pitching and offering the deals!

#Packers RB Aaron Jones' four-year, $48 million deal includes $20M over first two years -- a little over the cost of two franchise tags. A $7 million roster bonus is due on 3rd day of 2023 league year. So, that'll be decision time. He's due $16M in 2023 and $12M in 2024.

Brandon can have his takes. He has every right. However, I feel he is not a man of his word. He said he was leaving and then that he wasn’t going to give us his takes or info anymore. I’m just curious when those are going to happen.

It's well known that the 1265 Offices close on the date Free Agency starts each year and they do not reopen until the new batch of Undrafted Free Agents hit the market.

I said I wasn’t going to share certain  information  I hear from certain people or sources or as some might call “Rumors”.

Or from people at the local Quick Trip either! Those damn Quick Trip guys!!!

Under the cap, but work is not done if they want to add OL depth, CB2 and WR2

Also, just so you guys know Aaron Rodgers has a “Automatic Conversion Rights” built into his contract so he really has no say over the Packers converting $ over now.  Meaning Rodgers only has say in accepting an extension!  Meaning THIS IS ALL ON GUTE to some extent freeing some quick $ up now!!!

The collision course with Jordan Love continues!!

Well that's good news! I couldn't see R Wilson signing to play behind that O-Line...

If I called you stupid that would be an insult to stupid people.

If Brandon is this distraught now, I wonder how pleasant he was to be around during the 1986 season.

Going 4-12 was bad enough.  Then they had to ship off James Lofton after multiple sex assault accusations.  They had no first round pick as they traded it for Mossy Cade who abruptly ended his NFL career after becoming a registered sex offender for a rape conviction.  Not only that, they had a starting QB so overmatched that he fainted in the middle of a blowout loss to the Vikings.

If Brandon thinks things are bad now, I’d hate to see his level of misery at that point in time.  LOL. 😀

I have never heard the fainting story. Who was it?  Randy Wright? David Whitehurst?

The Automatic Conversion is not some insider info, it has been written about quite a bit since he signed that deal in '19. Wilde probably had some of the most in depth articles on it since he is close to the QB.

First of all I’m not distraught! I’m calling an END OF AN ERA coming soon!  I’ve accepted things as they are going as we have a raved maniac running the organization! Actually “Two”!!

I just find it REAL INTERESTING that I’ve been plugging along with this same narrative from basically day 1 and it hasn’t been dispelled!!!!

I was told first to “Chill Out” and then “They Just needed to get their final cap numbers in place” and then “it would be announced before free agency” and still no extension or even $ being converted over on Rodgers contract.  Yesterday it was  “Rodgers might want to retire at the end of his current deal”.  LOL!!!  Talk about grasping for straws!  Today we’re at “Anytime Now”!!!! Whatever LIE one must tell to one’s self right?

Then they re-sign Aj out of the blue(which AJ himself didn’t even see coming) which even fortifies the narrative and people still wanna try to question my Shit!

Now if you don’t mind I need to make my daily run to “Qwik Trip”!!!!!! 😂

New world record for use of exclamation points. I guess the situation is really dire!!

Green Bay could also spread the dead cap across two seasons if the trade is designated after June 1. The team would take on $14.352 million in 2021 and $17.204 million in 2022 in this scenario, saving $23.22 million toward the cap next season, per Spotrac.

A lot of these moves are making a lot more sense!  Hmmm

1 + 1 = 2

I try to keep the math simple for people!
