Sources: The #Falcons are trading All-Pro WR Julio Jones to the #Titans in exchange for at least a 2nd round pick. A blockbuster for Tennessee, who now gets the coveted big-play threat. And Atlanta ends up with very nice value.

Yup I see it...Here's some more....
The #Titans deal for Julio Jones:
โ Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) June 6, 2021
โ The #Falcons get a 2022 2nd rounder and a 2023 4th rounder.
โ The #Titans get Julio Jones & a 6th rounder in 2023.
โ The #Titans take on Jonesโ salary of $15.3M in 2021 and the rest of the deal.
โ #Falcons have $7.75M in dead money this year.
And before people freak out the Packers weren't in on this....There was a probably a less than zero chance they were trading him to anyone in the NFC. Particularly a team with an MVP QB.
They would have to redo his deal and honestly itโs kind of a slap in the face to Davante if they give Julio a new deal before they finish Davantes.
IMO, Atlanta won this deal.
Receiving a 2nd & a 4th for an aging 32 year old oft-injured receiver plus getting rid of the salary cap, taking a $7 mill hit this year.
Pretty good deal for Atl & Tennessee still doesn't have a defense
Seems like a lot to give up but the Titans needed to do something. They were not a real contender in the AFC and while their defense is not very good this should make them better.
Julio will be a huge difference maker for them in some games. If he plays 16, that is a super bowl contender
(He wonโt play 16)
It's really for the second-rounder. How much better is a 4th round pick than a 6th round pick? It's obviously better, but how much on Jimmy Johnson's trade chart, for example?
If Jones stays healthy, this is a steal.
If they redo his deal for additional millions and he breaks down, it's almost more of a win for the Falcons to clear that salary cap room they'd have had to deal with if they extended him than it is to get the 2nd round pick.
Detroit turning into East Green Bay?
Lions sign Reggie Gilbert; joins Boyle, Allison, Williams, and Price.
More over the hill tallant? Yawn! Develop the young guys.

Well I don't mind Barnes and Martin starting but we have ZERO depth and could use a little experience there. Plus both of those guys were hurt a LOT. It wouldn't be as critical if our Dline wasn't so bad. Hopefully Keke steps up and the new guy contributes. Our ILB's arent exactly the strength of the team either.
Yeah, of course you are right. ILB is far from a strength. It didn't stop me from trying to bait Henry anyway.
Gunt is really keyed in on drafting in the first round Eddie "Cry Baby" Falkawski next year as he has the unlimited potential to be developed for 15 years while being legally unable to sign a contract.
One NFL scout said, "The sky is the limit for Cry Baby if he can stop getting beat up by Susie from the 2nd grade class.
how does this kid not age?
Signing a 27-year-old solid linebacker seems a good idea.

I like babies
I didn't think the Packers had the kind of cap space available to sign a FA for anywhere near the coin he made last year.
I like the guy's personality ....don't know how much he will help on the field
Per source, S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix will participate in this week's Panthers minicamp on a tryout basis. He previously participated in Texans' minicamp on a tryout basis.

Are they going to ask him to tackle?
Rumor is that he got stuck in a tackling donut at the Texan tryout.
Seems like just yesterday the Bear fans and media were claiming HHCD was an upgrade over Amos.
The tape didn't lie.
Seems like only yesterday, despite the fact that HaHa refused to put his body on the line and tackle anyone and was never better than mediocre during his stint in Green Bay, that Ted Thompson picked up the 5th year option on his 2014 round 1 pick.
Seem to also recall some Packer fans were not enamored with Gutey "only" getting a 4th round pick from the Washington Football Team in a trade that turned out to be highway robbery and likely never occurs if Ted was still in charge.
All that said, there is a strong argument to be made that Clinton-Dix had the most "productive" Packer career of Green Bay's 4 first round picks between 2012-2015 (Perry, D. Jones, and Randall).
Early roster projection. Disagree with many of the calls here.
There arenโt too many I disagree with. Not sure they keep so many ILBs, Burks would seem to be on the bubble unless he looks good on STs, same for Summers. Ramsey has a good chance to stick for position flexibility. Could see another OL being kept over a LB.
I donโt think Burks or Josh Jackson or Summers stick.
Burks is a heck of a special teamer on a team with few good ones.
Josh Jackson is not.
Another early roster projection from Zach Kruse.
He's got both ESB and Sternberger failing to make the cut. Think Scott hanging onto the punting job is as much bigger question mark than he does.
If Scott doesn't make it as the punter, maybe with his tackling skills he can become the gunner?
New long snapper not sure we donโt get a new punter too

Also missing Devin Funchess.

Clinton-Dix was rated in the NFL based on his name recognition. He was a star at Alabama and a first rounder so the national guys assumed he was good. Even the guys at PFF kept rating him as a solid safety but I just struggled to see it outside of his interceptions.
Packers getting a 4th rounder for him in 2018 was great move by Gute (yes, he did make some very smart moves, it's ok to admit it)
Shepherd goes to the Chiefs...
Here's another source
Source: The Athletic - Nate Taylor
Free agent WR Darrius Shepherd (Packers) is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, June 17, per sources
And they kept that guy over Kumerow (they both suck, BTW) to give Rodgers paper cut number 987.
Hmmm, he's a linebacker, yeah?
Hmmm.
"The Lions announced that Collins has been released on Tuesday. The team spent the last week trying to trade the veteran and head coach Dan Campbell said that there were suitors for his services, but the team opted to move on without getting any compensation in return."
Lions gonna Lion.
Also, he's 32. Doesn't feel like a move that Gutey would make, but who knows...
