Pack at #8 now.
Pack has not had a pick that high since the immortal AJ Hawk was taken #5 overall in 2006.

I think GB's last win will be vs CHI. Should keep them in the top 10.

Shit, Iβll be humming that sappy song all day now.
Not a fan of that song. I very much prefer Tomorrow Never Knows
Jalen Carter is kinda good
Cade McNamara in 2025.

That song is proof of time travel. They brought that song back from the early 2000's.
The Notre Dame TE? Thoughts?
You don't draft TEs with a high 1st Round pick unless you know he's an absolute game changer. At least not in the Top 10/Top half anyway.

Yeah in the comments I read some said three rookie TEs in the history of the game have had impactful rookie years.

Yes but maybe one day someone (us) will get number four. Or give a one and get Waller.

So far, I think he's the only one worth drafting, but we'd have to take him in the 1st round
We may not even have that option since we will be drafting #32.

What do you think about that TE (not in the first) from Georgia Or their DT ?

If youβre talking about Georgia TE Brock Bowers I donβt think heβs draft eligible until 2024 but I could be wrong about that.
The DT Carter would be a great pick if he drops to the Pack but I think he goes pretty early as heβs even better than the Georgia DTs that were drafted this year.
@The Grinder posted:What do you think about that TE (not in the first) from Georgia Or their DT ?
Georgia has been playing TE-by-committee, so it' difficult to say, based on lack of reps.
Another Georgia DT? Maybe.... I don't know how good he is, but he won't be on the board. Mayer will. We haven't really had a TE threat since Finley, (1 good season from Tonyan) and look how he helped open up the offense. Plus, Mayer can block. He's the complete package. Draft him, and move on to the 2nd round.

The Falcons took Kyle Pitts I believe in the top 5. He was an athletic freak who people think will be the next Kelce or Gonzalez. Pitts had a really good rookie year, but trailed off significantly this year before getting hurt about a month ago. Only 2 TD's at that point and like 300+ yards.
I recall an interview with Andrew Brandt who said most FO personnel wouldn't consider a TE in the first. They just don't value them that high.
I still think the Packers top priority in their mind will be safety or pass rusher. Yes, that means yet another 1st rounder going to the defense.
I think he was referring to UG TE Darnell Washington. Marcedes Lewis clone. I haven't seen him much in the passing game so I don't know what his value is there, or his 40. Supposedly a physical freak but underutilized.
Gutey values OL, CB and Edge rushers most high. Walker and Wyatt were real outliers on his picks. I have a feeling he will go back to what he normally does this year...especially with Amos likely gonzo. S may be the target unless you can get a surefire swing tackle that can play RT or LT. Yosh is a backup...a good one, but being thrown into a consistent starter role has shown some warts.
TE isn't happening R1 or R2...outside shot R3. They really missed the boat not taking Chig Okonkwo...he's shorter than most, but faster than Kittle. But really, TE production is usually reflective of how willing you are to use them. Seems like when they were committed to using Tonyan, he looked PFG. Do they not use the TE more now because a lack of talent? Davis is hot garbage, Big Bob is still recovering from surgery, Big Dog is a 6th OL, Deguara is a halfback.

It's kinda crazy, but look at the TEs picked in the top 20. It ain't pretty - Kyle Pitts, TJ Hockenson, Noah Fant, OJ Howard, Eric Ebron, Brandon Pettigrew, Vernon Davis, Kellen Winslow, Jeremy Shockey, and Bubba Franks since 2000. Even the best of the bunch - Shockey and Davis - probably can't support their draft position. The others have no chance at supporting their top 20 draft position. TE seems like a position that you draft an athlete in the mid rounds and develop them.
Would you rather have Ja'Marr Chase or Kyle Pitts? That's the kind of decision you have to make when picking a TE at the top of the first.
TE isn't happening R1 or R2...outside shot R3.
So they're going to draft a TE bust in the third round.

Exactly . Not first round but maybe later. That dude from ND is a beast though I agree.
He looks more Gronk to me than bust.
Could be a hidden gem that somebody pulls the trigger on before GB gets to him.
I think Tonyan has a chance to improve a lot next year, still think the knee is an issue
It's too bad Mayer's going to skip the Gator Bowl... would have been good to watch.
@DH13 posted:Could be a hidden gem that somebody pulls the trigger on before GB gets to him.
Nothing really hidden about him... He is without a doubt the top tight end in the '23 draft.

I noted just a little better movement on one catch and stretch.
I had a really nice movement this morning.
Pretty sure no one else noticed.
That's one crappy post...
Let's get back on topic. Who is Green Bay picking at 32 in this upcoming draft? And... do we have to trade down or up to do it?
Guys that might be there at 32 (it's too early to even give a wild guess), but...
1) S Antonio Johnson Texas A&M
2) OT Anton Harrison Oklahoma
3) TE Darnell Washington Georgia
4) EDGE Felix Anudike-Uzomah Kansas St.
5) CB Emmanuel Forbes Mississippi St

I like #3 for some reason, kinda like a novelty or something.
The Green Bay Bulldogs? lol He could be a very good player... waiting to see him play in the Sugar Bowl... also Anudike-Uzomah for Kansas State.
Another player from Kansas State to watch is CB Julius Brents
@The Grinder posted:I like #3 for some reason, kinda like a novelty or something.
Don't like Washington ....he is 39 year old Mercedes Lewis. From what I have been able to find, workouts place his forty time in the 4.75-4.80 range.
Mayer from ND is easily the best TE in the draft ..... how high are you willing too go to pick him? A lot of boards having him in the top 15.
I don't think that high IMO.
Nothing higher than 16. If Chicago takes him higher then Walker can cover him.
If we run the table and pick at 32, then I don't much care who we take....
With that said, Mayer stands out as the best round 1 choice for Green Bay in the middle of the round.
