as much as I love the guy's freight train style, they better start utilizing the other guys too or he's gonna have a short shelf life.
I used to love to watch Earl Campbell run. But there are long term consequences.
3rd best power back of all time? Who is #1 & #2 then cuz Earl's the best power back I've ever seen.
NFLN always likes to surprise with it's top picks on those Top 10 lists. Probably Mike Alstott or something.
Well, I suppose Jim Brown could be considered a 'power' back.
Franco Harris was considered a "power back" by many and he never met a sideline he wouldn't step over to save some wear & tear and he admitted he picked his spots.
NFL Network's List is:
10. Mike Alstott
9. Christian Okoye
8. Bronko Nagurski
7. Marion Motley
6. Jerome Bettis
5. Jim Taylor
4. Larry Csonka
3. Earl Campbell
2. John Riggins
1. Jim Brown
Riggins in front of Campbell is an outrage. This list must have come out before Bo Jackson played.
Yea I agree, I forgot about Bo.
One guy who has never forgotten about Bo? Brian Bosworth. That was epic.
I admit, my admiration for Bo is over the top. He might be in front of Motley, Okoye, Alstott, on that list but that's probably it.
But still...
My fav...
This showdown between two promising rookies had tons of anticipation, mostly due to the Boz running his mouth the week before claiming he'd shut down Bo Jackson. Well, as you can see that didn't happen. In fact, Jackson ran for 221 yards and scored three touchdowns. How to shut up an overrated, steroid-using, loudmouth linebacker? Bo knows.
Riggins had the hogs... my recollection of him is that he did a lot of power running at the 2nd level. I'd move Riggins behind Taylor and move 3-5 to 2-4.
I found that list in a BleacherReport from 2011, which is about the time NFL-N was doing their Top 10 lists. Can't imagine why they'd omit Bo. Sure he had moves almost as good as Barry, and speed like Sayers, but he was a punishing runner.
Hungry5:
Sure he had moves almost as good as Barry,
Huh?
The only player I think who had moves almost as good as Barry was Sayers. I don't think anyone else even comes close.
Think he said almost as good. Almost...
Campbell #1 and Bo Jackson must be penalized for lack of longevity.
Ignorant on Jim Brown. Maybe he ought be #1. Then there's Marion Motley.
Where's Norm Bulaich?
Never really saw him, but wasn't Cookie Gilchrist a power back? I saw Jim Brown suggest Gilchrist even as good as him, but a different style runner.
Chili, I quoted that.
I don't think it's even close and so not "almost" - just my opinion.
One of my favorite Bum Phillips quotes: talking about Earl Campbell
"I don't know if he's in a class by himself, but I do know that when that class gets together, it sure don't take long to call the roll"

Comment From Osbourne Cox Did anyone stand out as noticeably bigger, stronger, or faster?

He said the "H word".
Josh Boyd checked in at 330 lbs...looks like he's gonna have some time at DE and NT
Boyd got Jolly's snaps late in the year when JJ got hurt. Josh is an athletic big boy, like Jolly... and dare I say Jenkins.

Don Barclay takes first snap with ones in place of Josh Sitton who is here #Packers
Those bleachers look kinda empty. I wish I lived closer, it looks like a great day to play hooky.
Definitely a difference in size when Janis and Abbrederis lining up on same side if field.

Chris Harper nice grab across the middle. Former Seahawks draft pick in 13. Didn't play much after being claimed last year
Matt Flynn gets picked off by Davon House on side line back shoulder intended for Dorsey. Secondary needs more of that

You're right, step 2.) starts a loop.

It must have been an odd sight if any of his neighbors in Green Bay got a glimpse of what was happening in JC Tretter's garage this spring.
There was the 6-foot-4, 307-pound Packers offensive lineman bent over in a three-point stance snapping a football β to his sister.
"She's good; she has a great cadence," Tretter said. "She was giving me protection adjustments. She was on top of her stuff."
