His probation is actually administered by the court, not a probation officer in this case. And the court takes precedence over a "voluntary" workout which is why MM made that comment yesterday.

Fat Lacy

Today's update.

MM on Richardson: Sean's a guy who will really show up with the pads. He's a real physical guy.

MM: Confident Sam Shields will handle the success (i.e. the money) that comes with the new contract.

MM said new RB coach Sam Gash has taken over the ball security drill. Used to be Winston Moss' domain.

MM on Tretter: "I look for him to take a big jump. Impressive in the time he was able to practice down the stretch (in '13)."

MM: Richard Rodgers is a natural in space. Off to a very good start.

MM: "There won't be any jobs won in June."

MM: Bryan Bulaga weighs a little more than he has in the past (and that's a good thing). "He's having a heck of a spring."

MM: on the beating Lacy takes: "I'd like to think Eddie puts the beating on." Have to be conscious of the mileage, and wear and tear.

MM: James Starks' productivity in 14 was the best of his career

I don't think you can win any jobs in training camp the way things have been pussified.

I think Bulaga is going to be a man on a mission. He lost 2 years. The right side of the line could kick some ass.

"I'd like to think Eddie puts the beating on." Needs to be a t-shirt.

Love the news on Rogers, and I've heard good things about Adams and Janis too. I know we're 3 public practices into the season, but it'd be pretty neat if Ted restocked the entire pass catching arsenal in one draft.

Hell, if he locks up Cobb and Nelson, the team would be set for the foreseeable future if only two of the new guys pan out.

Thanks for putting that all together, greatly appreciated

MM mentioning Sean Richardson again....makes me wonder

They tried putting an extra safety at ILB last year- better coverage ability and fast enough to be a spy vs the mobile QBs.

Unfortunately it was McMillian and he wasn't able to pull it off

Fans wanted a faster ILB in the draft, but maybe GB addresses that issue by playing a more athletic Safety in there and taking either Hawk or Jones off the field in nickle. Richardson is physical enough to handle the run, is quite fast ( 4.4  40) and better in coverage than either of the "starting" ILBs.

Great point Satori. I wonder if Jarrett Bush is finally a goner this year? Like Mike Sherman says..."Somebody has to be inactive"

I just know this defense is going to be dramatically better than the last 3 years. They obviously have some sort of a plan for our so called "starting" ILB's

Is he? I ask because I honestly don't know. I keep hearing that he has been, but I thought there was talk of him slipping in this area last season.

ST is a young man's game...just sayin'.

Or Richardson. 2013 was year #2 and he missed much of it while sitting on the PUP. In his limited playing time his physicality was very apparent. After replacing Jennings in the 2nd half of the ATL game:

"Very aggressive. I liked what he did on defense," McCarthy said of the 6'2", 216-pound Richardson

"He's got a physical presence to him in terms of being able to step up in there," Capers said

What I don't understand is why they continued to give Jennings the bulk of the snaps after that ATL game.

So with the LB injury in Atlanta and pretty much no depth behind him there is this the prime opportunity for the Packers to trade the LB that everyone loves to hate for the best deal Ted can get? Afterall, a Falcon and a Hawk should get along

Aaron Rodgers goes to The Belt after a "touchdown run," much to the delight of Packers fans here.

Free play for Rodgers when Daniels jumps. Pass downfield to Lyerla, Bush PI's by shoving the TE to prevent great catch

A Flynn pass to Richard Rodgers in the left corner of the end zone is picked off by Casey Hayward. Bad pass. But an athletic play by 29.

Scott Tolzien with a couple nice throws to Myles White and Jared Abbrederis, pulling it down the sideline

Tolzien having a good session here during "pass under pressure" period.

Period ends with Chase Rettig gunning one to second-rounder Davante Adams.

Onto the drill coaches hope they don't need often. Offensive linemen tackling (and Mike Daniels juking at RB)... Just like his Sr. year @ Highland Regional HS in N.J. Rushing for 1,029 yards and 12 TDs on offense

Found this tweet from Imig from the beginning of today's practice.

First-team defense early in practice: Raji, Daniels, Peppers, Neal, Lattimore, Hawk, Tramon, Hayward, Shields, Hyde, Burnett.

See anything of note?
