On Perry missing time... "I don't think it helps any player to miss the whole off-season. ...Told the team about it today. Our coaching staff took a different approach... to get all that work done, nothing changes. You have the season to get ready for. To do it over a nine-week period and for a player to miss all of it, it's not a good position for a player to be in."

On if it's the foot... "He's injured."

Well, that's not exactly a ringing endorsement of where he see's Perry. Maybe I am reading too much into this, but MM sounds annoyed.

With CMIII however, you are hearing things like "getting better" "making progress" "will be ready for TC" and "coming along".

Contrast that with Perry, we're not hearing those things unless I missed something. And of course there is no doubting what CMIII is like when healthy. Perry has been consistently..inconsistent.

IMO, I don't know that even if healthy Perry would be penciled in as a starter. CMIII and Peppers would be the logical starters. Neal right behind them. Then I would guess Perry is to be a rotational guy to keep the starters fresh.

Does not  bode well for a 1st round pick. Let's hope the foot heals up fast

From the WTF category: Concussion... to a neck injury he denied... to possibly career ending?

Perhaps the biggest concern is about Franklin, the fourth-round pick from UCLA who finished his rookie season last year on injured reserve following a neck injury. The Packers are worried that Franklin's neck injury might be career-threatening. According to two people with knowledge of his situation, the Packers are putting Franklin through more tests to determine whether it's safe for him to continue playing.

GB seems to be a hot bed for career ending neck injuries.  WTF?

And now we wait until July 25th.

McCarthy post practice:

Micah Hyde looks very comfortable as far as all the different responsibilities he's been asked to do.

We feel good about what's in. We also realize when you get back in training camp it's a different tempo. Competing for jobs.

Today's practice was what we look for. Younger players got a lot of reps that they didn't get. Scott Tolzien got a lot better today.

on Bulaga's offseason: All players coming off injuries you want to get back out there. Bryan's done lot of good things. Bigger, stronger

on Richard Rodgers: He was very productive. One thing that jumped out for a rookie in an offseason program.

I have some unfortunate news about Johnathan Franklin. Organization will address it tomorrow. He will not be back with us.
